Has more to do with the series as a whole. For many, too much action, little to no Horror, which almost every main game up to 5 was horror. This was in the Era of gaming where publishers forced changes in vision not because it would make the game better, but because they wanted to capitalize on the trebdd that made games like CoD and Gears of War so successful. A compromised vision. Where what's best for investors no longer matches what's best for the gamer/game. Chris and Jake's story was made exclusively for the high octane action audience. Leon's for the "classic RE experience " which they thought meant zombies and BOWs, but still focused on action, rather than the core RE audience who like tension, horror, and thrillers like everything up until 5. An over reliance on QTEs, overbloated plot, and Michael Bay levels of action, you get RE6. Unfortunately for me, I liked the combat on the easiest difficulty, and like Gears, so the action played well with my preferences. So I like RE6. But I recognize the problems it has for core audiences. Simply put, it was made for CoD fans. Not for RE fans. They were just hoping enough RE fans were COD fans, and that some COD fans new to RE would buy this game. That did not work. And we got RE7 instead. And the majority loved it.
@JS-ne2sd lifetime. By the end of 2012 it sold almost 5m. So around 210 million after console cuts. At the time, Capcom wanted 7 million sales by end of year. After you Googled how many copies it sold, your next two should have been "how many copies did RE6 sell in its first year" and "how many did Capcom expect re6 to sell".
My favorite thing to do as Leon is be in a crowd of zombies on my back slashing ankles with his knife. Also a good way to cheese the minecart part of the fight with Deborah.
i tried to revisit this campaign recently. I hated it and had to stop early on. It plays so poorly compared to everything before and after it. I wish I could understand what the re6 defenders see. The combat is not well designed its actually very flawed. The level designs are not good. The menuing/herbs should be the simplist thing ever, but its the most confusing thing ever. The qte components are the worst part of the game and they happen too frequently. It was not tested/revised enough before release.
@@sO_RoNerY for me the horror just works if the enemies are super strong or start doing jumpscares, but in general, i just want to kill zombies the best i can
@@slayer8790 i think we all forget that horror is purely subjective, execution wise it wasnt great but some people would be scared by this game and others would scoff at it in comparison to the other games
What do you hate about it? The excellent combat mechanics? The genuinely fun gameplay? Or would you prefer a walking simulator like resident evil village?
@@77jamess The combat's a clunky disgrace, the movement, gameplay mechanics and control are awful. It's not just a bad Resident Evil, It's a bad shooter. Hate.
@@memestopicxd7649 I like the controls in 4. I think they controlled slightly different in 5 but were still ok. In 6 they were dreadful, just the worst. I absolutely hate this game.
Bad game with shitty scripts. But this speedrun interesting for me, cuz i trying to complete this game on no hope. And this speedrun good instruction for noobs in RE like me.
