I see no problems with this game, I really enjoyed it. If bullets being scarce is the only reason why fans classified the original series as "survival/horror", then what we have got today is a change I can live with, as Resident Evil has never actually been scary. F.E.A.R. was scary, Silent Hill was scary, Slender was scary, and according to everyone I have talked to, Amnesia was scary--- Resident Evil on the contrary has always felt more like a parody on the horror genre.
Well, a classmate of mine recently told me that he accidentally played RE1 as a 6 year old and got traumatized xD It's just, I can't imagine how it would be. Whatever, Alone in the Dark 4 has better atmosphere anyways^_^
PikaLink91 FEAR's scary? I adore FEAR was a first person shooter, but as a horror? Meh, the infected dogs on any RE is better horror than any half decent jump scare FEAR offered. The story & cutscenes of RE are B movie sillyness sure, but playing the game can be a good horror time

The game isn't scary but 5 and 6 still have a lot of suspenseful moments. Also my favorite games to play coop with a buddy. You will be in for some memorable moments you and a friend will talk about for years to come.
Totally agree with you. Im newish to gametrailers and LOVE that, like most utube reviewers, spend 90% of the video doing stupid voices down the mic in an attempt to make some one laugh. These reviews always seem to give you nothing but detail about the game and its features and gives you an open but honest opinion when it comes to the final verdict.
This game is awesome, people should really stop complaining. A lot of people in general can't find there true life goals and usually adopt someone else's. So a lot of people can not appreciate things as they change. This game is a good example of that, ... it took me some time because of it's flaws and because it was different to play it properly, but those very flaws are also golden.
Resident evil 5 and 6 are not survival horror its action horror. If you want a new survival horror you need new characters. Every one wants Chris,Leon and other characters from the old games. At this point they are badass and aren't going to be scared. If a character is scared you will feel the fear better. Re5 and Re6 are great games but its not survival its action. they should go back to the horror we all know and love but every now and then its good to have some kick ass action like this. Resident evil operation raccoon city i thing was just a test for the gun play. In re.o.r.c the story is shit the only good thing is the multiplayer.

I think Resident Evil 6 is really good... Don't get me wrong I think Resident Evil 7 is fantastic but I don't like it as a Resident Evil game I like it as a game. I miss the zany over the top action and I miss all these great characters. RE7 just isn't the same

I love both styles.. I wish they had a separate series called Biohazard that focused on action and Resident Evil franchise that focus on the horror.. capcom really nailed the coop action in RE6.
I think this game is amazing! I mean really, I have only played 3 RE games (5, raccoon, and 6) but have watched friends play many. I think this game is really great compared to the others. But quite a lot of people would say that this game is bad, or that all the bad things about it drag capcom down. I have one thing to say to this: You are thinking too big. By that I mean that you are expecting too much out of this game. I mean come on, this game isn't "Scary" enough? Back when RE 1 came out, if this game was out, you would shit your pants. So that throws out comparing it to the other games in terms of "Being scary" I know some people will hate it when I say this, but the Story line is always the best part in ANY game, and this game has a great one at that. the fact of why most people hate this game is because on the old times game was suppose to be about mistery and puzzles... and now is just straight shooting action... I honestly liked this game.. and I'm a fan of the Resident Evil saga.. but I do accept the fact that this is not old lovely school.. this is just a new generation for Resident Evil... plus.. in my country games even when they come out the same day as america they come out already translated and reviewed... wich means most of the bugs are already fixed... one example of that is Aliens Space Colonial Marines.. USA people hated it because of the bugs.. wich I had none...
To be honest, I enjoyed the hell out of this game, and I found the best way to do so is play a chapter of each campaign after you've finished. Leon's chapter, Chris's chapter, than Jake's chapter, rinse wash repeat, and the game won't feel dull or boring because the game will have a interesting balance. That's just me though.

The short version is crappy fan service, shortcut programming, and a really awful gameplay. I've never fought controls like I didn't in Re6, I hate 5 to the core but at least I could play it like resident evil. The only good part of 6 is playing as Ada. It's the only part that feels like Resident Evil at all.

I hear the same argument about assassins creed free running mechanics. Apparently you can play a game while only seeing half of what's infront of you. (Their update is too little too late before you say anything.) And No, it's not just me. Almost all reviews mention the shitty controls. And Ubisoft changing AC's controls, they didn't make them RADICALLY different (well, as far as I know, haven't played 4 yet. 3 didnt feel much different except a couple things.) Know what game has pretty much the same control scheme as Re4 and 5 but made good changes? Dead Space. Perfect camera placement, perfect controls. Not this clunky crap that plays more like an overhead brawler but forces you to play Gear of War. Hell Dead Space 3 added some crappy cover mechanics too, but it's not as bad as 6.

And a friend of mine and I bought this game together and tried playing it on the hardest difficulty. It is abysmal. The Leon campaign has you shooting zombies in the head anywhere from 1-12 times in the head to kill them, RANDOMLY. The damage is inconsistent, we had died coming out of cut-scenes where zombies continued to move towards us, most of the engagements take places in cramped areas and you feel no sense of control over your own fate. 1/10, buy ANYTHING ELSE.
Sounds like you and your friend just couldn't handle it. Me and a buddy beat it on the No Hope mode and it was tough for sure, but no sh**, that's why it's called "No Hope". There's always an easy mode if you guys can't hang. :P
I hated this game on last gen, got it for the ps4 and it's awesome! The 60 frames and clean graphics really help the flow of this game. Really enjoy it now and recommend it highly
Fred from Spongebob yelling 'My leg!' Environmental detail and textures are far worse than RE5 in RE6. Also the art style is different. It definitely seems they put less effort and attention to detail in RE6 than 5
People b*tch about the game that "it isn´t the good old RE". Well, guys, gues what, it´s called evolution. What would you want ? Another "tank controlled" character with static camera angles ? You can´t use the same formula for a series for years and hope people won´t tire of it ... ehm ehm, CoD. I think RE 6 is an improvement over RE 5, and a great addition to the RE franchise.
This game was a win for me, and I have been an RE fan from the beginning, since the PSOne days. The different campaigns added a variety to the experience that kept it from being repetitive. The characters were a great mix of OLD AND NEW. In fact, I am hoping to see at least two of the new characters return for RE7. Your partner AI was good and best of all, you did not have to share resources. The game is not perfect. What game is? I would like them to go back to a "lone wolf" campaign where you are by yourself, but you can get an AI partner if someone joins you for Co-Op, like EA did in Dead Space 3. A better cover system would be nice, as well. And people, RE was ALWAYS a "shooter" oriented game to a point.
I'd say most titles in the RE series are survival action, not really horror. The monsters are gross and threatening, but not terribly scary. However, Capcom understands that an oppressive atmosphere is a tradition in the series, so they throw in segments of each game where things get threatening and spooky. But at the end of the day you're still giving the middle finger to the villain of each game and blowing their shit up with a rocket launcher that your buddy tosses you.
I used to play RE5 a lot, so the moment I started playing RE6 I was really pleased to see the the improvements they have done to the controls as well as streamlined inventory system, but the camera hijacking is just way too annoying in RE6, especially in boss fight.
RE6 was awesome - stupid and self-serious, but I had a good laugh. The franchise hadn't been proper survival since RE4 so I have no idea why everyone shits on RE6. It's one of the best shooters of its generation and a seriously under-appreciated game.
Also Capcom needs to remake Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3 Nemesis, Code Veronica X, 4, Revelations, 5 Gold Edition, & 6. On Separate Blu-ray PS4 Disc as if they are coming out for the first time ever. OMG MAKE MY RESIDENT EVIL DREAMS HAPPEN CAPCOM.

Guys you must try the Evil Within (aka Resident Evil 7)... It is known as Psycho Break in Japan and the game is AWESOME !! (probably the best RE game ever made) and it plays like the original RE game and is directed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami !! The Evil Within is what Resident Evil 6 should have been... "The Evil Within is old school survival horror. It feels like Mikami picked up his tools from where he dropped them a decade ago and went right on with his work, iterating here, tweaking there, adding some new features there. Damn right. I recently re-bought an original xbox and bought a shitload of games for cheap... the survival horror genre is one of my favs and there are so many classics on that console. For £100/$140 you can buy a console and about 10-20 really good games for it. Long live the classics!
It's a fun game but is it survival horror? Too be honest RE1-4 had a fear factor that actually made me jump. In 5 and 6, Capcom put the fear factor to rest in my opinion.
Resident Evil hasn't been really scary since Nemesis or Code Veronica. RE4 had a spooky village in the beginning but that's about it. Some of the boss fights were pretty creepy though.
Remember the days when getting in close with a zombie meant certain death in games? I hate to say it but I think RE has hit the point where its less about fun and more about cash. I think they should eother let the RE franchise go or find a way to revitalize it in some way.
I never liked the fact you have a partner... its not survival horror if you got someone watching your back constantly... there is nothing more horrific than being ALONE surrounded by things that wanna eat you.. Resident Evil 4 was the best in my opinion.. and it only made you have a partner occasionally..

the first 3 I never found to be scary. Probably only thing that it had going for it being scary was the camera angles(which are what held it back from being popular with hardcore gamers)RE4 changed that. And I think for the better. RE4 was after all, critically and commercially better than any of the genre. You want scary. Play Silent hill. Those are the definition of a scary horror game.
In design, RE6 seems better suited being a sequel to the DC/arcade classic Zombie Revenge than it does as a mainline addition to the RE franchise. Of course, there's a lot of ideas here that are also retooled concepts from the earlier Outbreak games, which considering they share many of the same development staff, is understandable. Even though I can enjoy the game for what it is, it does unfortunately too often bring to mind the old adage: jack of all trades, master of none. I'm very glad RE7 did not go in this direction.

Every developer is jumping on the call of duty action band wagon whether you realize it or not. Look what happened to my beloved deadspace franchise in the 3rd installment. Gametrailers reviewed this game as a standalone game and didn't directly compare it to the previous games. When you do that the game is ok on its own. But this is resident evil 6 and not a new IP. The casual gamers out there love this game. Resident evil 7 needs to go back to more survival horror driven gameplay like re 4 with the calculated action parts. Yes, the graphics are amazing and beautiful but the gameplay makes it less challenging especially with the melee attacks. I know most gamers can't handle real horror games cuz their pussys lol but it's all more exciting and adrenaline pumping when it is. Instead of mowing through enemies and replaying missions over and over again by yourself or with friends, the first play through should take a lot longer of how careful you have to be. Being over powered is for the scaredy cats honestly. Action games make it that way. The majority wants a light hearted experience and not a heart pounding thriller of a game. That's what's wrong with gaming today.

Love RE6 it does action well with a great creepiness factor to it, evil within was a disappointment it tried adding more modern gaming elements like stealth and crafting and did it poorly. The story was,confusing and the only way to be sure to buy the DLC.
In my Opinion this game is bar far the Best one Yet besides RE4 I mean I finally got what I wanted. Out of a Resident Evil game which is Walk n Shoot, Leon vs Chris even though wasn't a full fight more like defensive fight, Ada's back and got an Evil Twin, Sherry's Back, Wesker's Offspring, a Nemesis like Creature, Shark B.O.W's. I can go on all day about how great this game is but only things that makes my Heart Really Cry. It's not that Scary and I'AM A HARDCORE LOVING TRUE FAN of this SERIES I Live and Breathe Resident Evil. Also no Claire Redfield or Jill Valentine. Last time I seen Claire was her comeback in Degeneration. Which the story takes place before 5 and Jill story in Revelations which also takes before Degeneration and 5 right after part 4. OH GOD PLZ BRING BACK THE BEAUTIFUL HORROR IN RESIDENT EVIL. Plz Plz Plz keep the Walk n Shoot, Slide, Roll, Sprint, Free Melee and Reversal it's AWESOME ^_^ keep it for Resident Evil 7. Then bring Claire and Jill back. Last I want to see Leon and Ada finally hit it off then Claire reunites with Chris, Sherry meets Ada, Jill, and Claire again I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW EACH OTHER LOL Sorry I can't help how much I Love these Characters and the Video Games/Movies.
the only thing i hate is how you can get double whamed in mercenaries where you get down and the you get hit again right away which is annoying as hell! but it is worth the money with 4 long campaigns
if they really didn't give a fuck they wouldn't have went through the trouble of creating an update with a better camera and co op for ada..and a new difficulty now would they have?
It just ruins the flow of the game for me, the zombies take too many shots to die and I think there's a tendency for players to have to rely on spamming the right trigger so you can just kick the zombies etc. instead of wasting what little ammo you are given on the zombies themselves. I think the character's movements are really stiff and it just takes away that real cinematic feel for the game and I feel as though it interrupts my enjoyment of the storyline as I'm more focused on that
So I played the game and it's not the same as it was sure but neither was res 4 and no one bitched about that, it's a good game in my opinion and everyone is still up in arms about why isn't it scary, why doesn't it feel the same as the old ones. because capcom isn't activision it isn't the same over and over and appreciate it for what it is or don't
No I actually hated the game because of the non-stop quick time events and many other little things. I wasn't disappointed in the game because I didn't expect anything from it.

I'd call it a bad Resident Evil game, only it isn't a Resident Evil game at all. It's a fairly generic third person shooter that just happens to share the same title as the older games.
All you are basically saying is if your favorite game developers gave you a pile of shit for a game. We should still considerite the best game ever. Fans give capcom feedback all the damn time but they never give a fuck about them.
Controls wise, I think RE6 tries to retain that classic RE feel. RE5's controls were tank-like and RE:ORC were very typical, like most of 3rd person shooter out there, so the solution they came up with feel like one of its own, definitely not as good as GOW or Uncharted series, but unique. I personally dont think the controls got much to do with storyline, it can get annoying and frustrating but never to a point where storyline is ruined because of it.
What did you think of the gameplay? I think the cinematic locations and storylines were really creative and exciting, but the gameplay just didn't match for me. It felt clunky controlling the characters and really got on my nerves. This ruined the story in my opinion

true RE fans like me waited a whole hell long time for the zombies to come back to the franchise. sure, the first 3 RE's (1,2,3) were pretty damn scary and screammyyy! 4 had its too many moments from the castle cults, 5-solid hardcore actioon, well at elast 6 gives you at best, all of horror, action, suspense combined. :D
