I Really Like this Game and i think its awesome how some games have spin offs. Because it lets us know the POV of the Bad guys , the game is awesome, the plot of the story is awesome, i hope more people learn to like these games, the only thing that sucks is the fact that its short, i want more from Operation Raccoon City. btw the next game they released ( Umbrella Corps) i hope Capcom stops making games like that very unfinished
To be Honest I love this game because of the story with me being the BAD GUY with my Secret Team. To cover up Umbrella's Fuck Ups and tell the tale of the bad guys side of the story instead of the good guys like the original part 2 & 3. Even though it takes place in that time frame just being the bad guys this time. It's a great addition to the story.
I thought RE ORC was a nice venture to a full on co op shooter. Yes the campaign was odd, but if there was huge changes then that would mess with the storyline too much. I like to think everyone hates the game for the wrong reasons. It was a cool shooter IMO and that what it was trying to be. "The horror is gone" yeah, well it was gone since RE3. None of the monsters ever really scare us anymore. For what ORC tried to do, I thought it was still fun.
wh3nderson95 I felt the Outbreak titles were far superior but i had fun with ORC. The hit detection felt off though. Still a fun shooter and the setting was amazing.
I have enjoyed all resident evil games including the gamecube remakes. RE6 had good concepts and ideas, the horror element still was missing. RE5 was enjoyable especially the online co op and mercenaries and the side story DLC were nice additions. Resident Evil revelations by far has got the balance right just like RE4 and the previous entries.
I overall enjoyed it but fixing the crosshair to a simple dot and more GTA V like with a hitmarker would definitely improve the quality of the game, as well as NPC team members who could move and shoot with more purpose, perhaps.
Watching that hunter footage, like a bullet sponge. I just played infernal RE rev, and a regular handgun shot to the head can provide stopping power to a hunter. WTF Capcom, the best backdrop you could ask for and this is the result????
i also loved this game ...yeah the survivor horror qwas left out and its action packed..but its what makes it different.. lot of gun fights..and also The Nemesis its all good.. well my opinion.. just hope RE 7 has a little more horror to it..!
You're right, people forgot that 5 and 6 were guilty of the same, all action and little to no horror at all, plus they had clunky controls and QTE's every 5 minutes!
EQOAnostalgia . yup aint that the truth.. and the only thing i didnt like about ORC..was that it automatically take cover over things if you got to close...other than that loved this game..P.S. i thought it was difficult..
EQOAnostalgia . re5 with the move controls makes it a lot more satisfying to play. Just like the Wii version of re4 the move makes it a lot more natural to aim and shoot. Try it, the motion controls really lend themselves to the over the shoulder style introduced in re4.
No those of us who loved the original games never forgot them playing 5 and 6, 5 actually wasn't terrible (but certainly more of a departure than 4) but 6 was a train wreck literally and figuratively.
I really am enjoying this game, its a nice change from the old resi evils (which i love). Im happy to see that capcom are branching out because everyone will moan either way be it them making this kind of game or if they used the same mechanic from the 1st. At the end of the day Slant Six have made what they were set out to do.
The rail shooters were pretty cool-- Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, even though they do retcon a few things (like the Nemesis arc not really playing out as epically as it should have)....still, way better than ORC, which just sucked. Still waiting for a re-make of RE2 and 3
Rent the game first, they buy it if you like it. Trusting reviews is to say that you yourself are so daft you need someone to tell you if a game is good or not. I bought Final Fantasy XIII right after release.. it taught me that even my favorite developers and favorite series can be utterly disappointing.
great game and great story my only advice would be to remake this game and make sure that capcom develops it instead of only publishing it and make it longer NO OFFENSE TO SLANT6
I went through the whole game without purchasing a single ability, mainly because I didn't even realize there were abilities until halfway about it :3 This has got to be one of THE worst games I've played, ever.
The game is ok if you can pick it up cheap. I managed to get it for only five pounds still sealed & with free spec ops DLC , Its a shame cos the game could of been so much more with just a bit more effort & polish,
This game was a let down. Super buggy and the AI was extremely stupid. Enemies took endless clips of ammo and the story was subpar. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 if I rated it. Not a terrible game but too frustrating to say it is a decent game.
It did more for the series than the shitfest that was RE5 and 6. I wouldn't hold your breath for a good RE ever again, it's been pissed away by Crapcom, you should focus your attention on Shinji Mikami's The Evil Within. He started RE and made it great, as soon as he left the series went to shit.
bullshit its better than both 5 and 6! At least this game knew it wanted to be a shooter 5 and 6 don't know if they want to be a shooter or a survival horror game and had shit controls plagued with shitty fucking QTEs. NOTHING can beat the classic RE games but this wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.
EQOAnostalgia . The combat in RE 5 improved dramatically for me on ps3 with the motion controls. Just like RE4 on the Wii had the definitive control scheme so does Gold on the ps3.
kid ? okay big guy, first of all, what do you think when people like me complain about RE ? it's not the story, not at all. but the atmosphere, the style. RE 4 still have it (even a little), but RE 5 was when they really kill the survival horror theme of RE, I'm glad that they bring it back in RE revelation, but I don't think RE6 will follow it's lead, 6 looks more like 5, a lot. try to analyze my comment first, smart and big guy :)
Compared to the classics this is shit but would have served as a good spinoff title. 5 and 6 sucked so much dick it's a fucking wonder how anyone could judge this game so harshly. This game at least knew what it wanted to be, a co-op and competitive shooter, it has it's flaws but it's still fun. 5 and 6 struggle with trying to be part shooter, part survival horror and part Michael Bay action film with QTE's every 5 minutes! The setting in ORC was very nostalgic as well as the characters, the sound design was good especially with a set of turtle beach headphones and the voice acting was spot on with tight controls and good graphics, i just wish guns had more impact and enemies were more consistant in their AI and how much damage they take before they die. All in all this was a fun shooter made even more fun with friends. It was judged way too harshly but NOTHING compares to the classic PS1 and 2 titles and for online play Outbreak 1 and 2 blew this up with rocket launcher!
what pissed me off about the game, is when I watch the trailer.... I was expecting an OPEN-WORLD team based Resident Evil game... I didn't expect to be stuck on single plotted coursed missions with idiot AI, lack-luster of enemies, and plentiful ammunition.... I expected to run into things like Downed Police Officers, Civilians, RPD SWAT Teams (not goddamn spec ops)... visit locations like the RPD, the Sewers from RE2, the Dead Factory, Jack's Bar, - by my choice mind you, not per a mission set piece. I also expected to fight various monsters spanning the series from RE2,3, and even Outbreak... Drain Demons, Lickers, Hunter BETA & GAMMA, Ivy's, - even bosses like The Gravedigger, Titan (Elephant from Resident Evil Outbreak 2), so on... The game was okay, but it was a mjor fucking mess and wasted opportunity to release a fresh take, overabundance with potential for new ideas.... to be honest I loved the Outbreak games. I feel those would be SO much better now with the rise of WiFi internet... would be greater online play compared to the age of Broadband to be honest.
+Shawn Youtt haha so you found it to be a shitty game huh, too bad for you, especially if you put down big bucks for it, I payed $10 for mine and had a good time, still play online occasionally.
Resident Evil is completely destroyed. Everything went in the wrong direction after Resident Evil 4 , this franchise is completely ruined like many other franchises nowadays
capcom, why don't you realize ? we have a plenty of this kinda game already (shoot, cover). what ? can't stand that other companies get better gain for that simple mechanics ? make a consistent and original one, jeez guess this is where the RE series really goin to dead (cuz RE6 shows no better than this either)
i actually enjoyed the game. it isnt perfect tho i can tell u that but its not such a bad game. the city looks and feels like raccoon city and u see old faces. my biggest problem is that the story was a "what if" situation. they had so much potential with the great idea of playing as the bad guy and the story started off great that they shoulda just kept the story the same. but once u start going after leon is when it all goes downhill. its like capcom just said fuck it at the end cuz they couldnt come up with anything good. Otherwise, still an enjoyable game
Learn to write better kid. You do realize that this game was not made by the usual people right? RE6 has the best Capcom has to offer working on it and has been in production for quite a long time. I really don't care if you buy RE6 whatsoever, but It will more than likely be an amazing game. At the very least, what I have seen so far of it has a more interesting story and better writing than RE5 had.
this isn't a resident evil game its a cash in because people were excited for Resident evil 6 its nothing more than a lazy ass socom game with zombies thrown in I give it a 2 out of 5 for false advertising and it just sucks in general
