Why have we not seen self defense items in more RE games?!?! They're such a perfect tool that makes the game easier for people who need it, and doesn't effect difficulty for those that don't.
Its mad really, I guess you could pseudo argue there's a block button in 7 and re2 remake has them in there... so maybe they are walking the franchise back to them?
This is easily one of the best games of all time. I played it this year for the first time and I fell in love with it. It's as good as games can get, a masterpiece in every aspect. I ended up playing it 8 times back to back. A titanic achievement in gaming.
My personal favorite Re game. The music, sounds, and overall environment is so nostalgic for me. Watching my dad play this game with my older sisters 🥰 One of my absolute favorite memories.
I swear it’s the best Resident Evil game there is! Fixed camera angles and awesome critters to battle. I play it on the Switch. I love the Crimson Heads lol I purposely shoot towards the zombies’ feet so I don’t cap them. That way they always come back later on and chase you! Makes your walkthrough much more intense but it love it! Especially the Forest Zombie that you unlock that has all the grenades on him that kills you of your shoot him! Stuff chasing you makes it awesome versus just walking through a hall with nothing in it. Although that gives you a chance to look at the incredible backgrounds of each scene. Such a great game! Can’t believe that the GameCube version is 20 years old now. Lol I’m getting old 😂
So many people say tank controls+fixed camera is the best way to play Resident evil, and yet, I had a million times more fun with the RE2 and RE3 remakes than I did with the RE1 remake. coincidence? I don't think so. There's something about the tank controls and fixed cameras that is super limiting to me. It's more of a gimmick that older players are trying to protect, but it doesn't make for a more fun game imo. The most fun I've had in this series was RE2 remake before Mr. X showed up. That was just straight survival horror, limited ammo, puzzle solving fun. Mr. X made it hide and seek. But in any case, I love the over the shoulder RE4 camera much more than the fixed camera. Fixed camera with tank controls needed to go
It's all personal preference of course, I love fixed camera but I enjoy the over the shoulder style too. I suppose it's the game itself and how it grabs you or not that ultimately matters. If RE1 remake didn't have phenomenal gameplay for me regardless of camera style it wouldn't hold my attention
I've recently got my friend into the series and started him here on RE1 and now he's in love with the series as a whole. Might just be worth nagging them to play until they eventually get beaten down and do it; just to shut you up 😆 worked for me
I didn't have the chance to play RE1 Remake back in the Gamecube era because I didn't have a GC, had to wait until the remastered version to play it on my XBox One and, without a doubt, is the best RE game and RE experience of the saga. I hope to see a RE like this, again, one day
I played the original Japanese import Bio Hazard 1 way back in 1996 and was blown away by how great the game was! I was even more impressed when I played the remake on Gamecube. I also played the remastered version on my PS5 on a 55 inch tv with surround sound system and the gaming experience was totally immersive! And I played it with full screen option, no borders which added to the immersion.
Good review. I just completed this for the first time on normal difficulty with Chris (took me 13 hours). It's so perfect. There's so much it does right I can't list it all, but I'd really just describe it as the most entertaining horror theme park ride I've had (yes, on a "fun" scale it beats all the modern RE games as well).
@@kingghidorah6655 Because the player gets to wonder around a haunted house, unlocking doors, solving some puzzles, managing resources & then replaying it several times as well. It's a horror theme park. RE4 meanwhile (for example) is a shooter. It's a really fun shooter, but it's still a shooter. RE Village is also a shooter because aim accuracy plays a really huge role. RE Remake is not about the shooting or the action, it's about the context, location & resources. It's pretty much a game for any skill level as well (aka people who don't game often can have a blast with it).
Fixed angles bring a cinematic perspective, and it adds so much artistic depth...perspective truly is everything. Imagine, if a film just played from an OTS view throughout the whole thing and how boring that would be
My favorite RE game, more so than RE4 and RE2. This game is claustrophobic and classic survivor horror in its perfect form. This game is what Resident Evil is all about.
This is my favourite Resident Evil game and have played it so far 4 times one after another(just gout into the series and am planning to play this game tons more times in the future).Though something I regret is that on my first play through instead of figuring out the puzzles for myself, instead I went on RU-vid to find the answers to em,besides for select few I did solve.Still love this game though and it is amazing
@@SSJdavey something good though is that I don’t really know how to solve the stained glass puzzle, the knight room puzzle I still don’t really have the hang of,and the lamp puzzle is different each run so the puzzles are still interesting to me each run.The first resident evil puzzle I solved that stumped me was the steam puzzle in revelations, even though that puzzle isn’t hard it still had me scratching my head.I felt proud of myself for beating it and is one of the reasons why I like revelations.
The biggest tip for any puzzle in any of the games is to do 2 things, explore the immediate environment of the puzzle and then check your files, the solution will be in one of those 2 places for 99% of them 👍
My biggest annoyance with the original story is Rebecca going through the events of Zero and not saying a word about any of it to the Alpha team and just hides out in a save room. Obviously this was hindsight but bc Zero and REmake were in development near the same time you'd think they would have factored this into the new story. And what's up with that pic in Wesker's desk? Lol
I always felt that Rebecca had PTSD after the events of RE0 and couldn't mentally cope with another Mansion situation thus she tried to hide away until help came.
Great video. I'm really enjoying these. That campy music from the basement that sounds silly is actually from one of the director's cut versions of the original. The actual PS1 original had a much better theme, but I believe the rights to that track had expired by the time the alternate release came out. Keep up the great RE vids! Definitely subscribe to this channel everyone.
Yeah you're totally right that music I featured is from the directors cut which to be fair some of the music is OK its just that track which is god awful 😂😂 Original RE1 had a great soundtrack! Thank you I'm glad your enjoying these, I'm hoping to have RE2 remake video out shortly 🤞
@@residentdrevil3216 I had a hard time deciding which to do out of the original and remake but remake of 2 is the new 'cannon' so I've gone with that. Might do original re2 at some point in the future too 🤔
Nice video. In fact, so good that it distracted my sir from his game play and for the first time in weeks he set his game aside to pay attention! :D (Your wife sentme)
The newer ones (7, 8 and remakes) got me in love with the series, so i decided to try the "OG" RE 1 remake. It was by far the best one. Next I'll try RE 0 and Code Veronica
For me that's one of the reasons why I love it, the gradual shift from having no idea what anything means or where stuff is to hours later coming across the pieces you need and knowing intrinsically where to put it and how to solve that roadblock. I can 100% see how that can be annoying though
I can safely say this after experiencing all RE games I possibly can in my region: this IS the absolute best RE game ever to this day, even by today's standards, and above tht,it's the only RE game tht makes me too afraid to play it on hardest difficulty (the real survival mode obv) and thts sayin alot, hell even on very easy mode it was still a challenge compared to the other titles esp the latest ones
@@SSJdavey o it's verrryy unforgiving like for starters : no autoaim, item boxes DON'T connect like if u leave an item in one box in one save room u won't find it in the other so u will have to backtrack, and zombie numbers increased and ur more prone to facing crimson heads sooo have fun 😆
