Welcome all of you beautiful breathing people. I battled the cold on this one for sure. Overcoming the limitations of the mind is something we all can do. Breathwork is a beautiful way of practicing that as well. I designed this for those wanting to increase their breath hold and eventually get to a 3 minute hold. RECOMMENDATION: When you can´t hold any longer, take a small breath in, then immediately let it back out and hold that until you need to take another breath. Continue doing that until we start the next round. That air hunger is extremely beneficial is helps increase our CO2 tolerance. I actually just came into the comments to say how much the permission you give to take that mini-breath meant to me. Cool to see you underscoring it here. I've been struggling with the longer holds ever since I got into this types of sessions for a hot minute now. The frustration and disappointment I feel with myself over not quite making it has turned into this ingrained thought pattern. That obsessive thought-loop is both self-fulffing AND totally takes me out of what it's all about. Suddenly it's like I'm doing some kind of endurance training instead, you know? Anyway, I haven't seen anyone incorporate this permission piece into a video yet though, and it's a really beautiful idea that's effective for me, at least. Been a fan since a guest video of yours on Breathwork Beats recently but haven't comented yet. I hope to join you on the patreon side before too long.

Just know that times don’t matter, just a mind thing. The whole point of these are too get out of the mind for a little while. The part of the mind responsible for the emotions you just expressed. This was amazing, I have high cortisol levels from Complex Trauma and find it impossible to relax because my body's constantly in fight or flight state. High anxiety, chronic insomnia, depression etc. I fell asleep twice while doing this breakthrough, I love it it's amazing. Lots of love to everyone x

Started my day with a microdose, a cold shower then this breathwork. Cheers Sandy you beautifal man. I've been doing about 3 or 4 of your videos daily. The peace I feel during the breath retentions is amazing.
In every breath retention, I felt as if I were floating! My sister came into my room twice while I was meditating and I didnt pay attention to her! If she didn’t tell me about it, then I would have never realized that! My worries, my inner pain, life disappointments, and the unsuccessful relationships that I had been through were all behind me! Like the streets’ background noise! At that moment It didn’t hurt anymore coz all what is left in me was my beating heart and my tingling skin.

Wow never knew I was capable of a 5 minute retention I went ahead and did a bit more rounds and I was able to do it, it was a beautiful experience afterward during the meditation words can’t describe it ! Ty very much for addressing work. No one discusses this ever. CPTSD took me from a promising career to attracting abuse in all forms at every job while dealing with a misdiagnosed chronic illness (due to compromised immune system from decades of childhood trauma). I trauma bonded in relationship where i became dependent on an healthy person and backed myself into debt, more illness , injuries and unemployment at an age that often feels too old to turn it around. Social anxiety and agoraphobia kicked in. Its been a bear to dig out of this but im moving forward as best I am able. Its very challenging not to curl up in a ball and hide. Ty for this video! It is helping to have areas to focus on so I can improve and get myself out of this hell.

I've been a bit addicted to your sessions, but I just did this one (not for the first time) and got a very loud buzzing in my ears for a few minutes afterwards. It did stop though thankfully

How do I increase my breath holds? I'm in excellent physical shape, but these are quite hard for me to get up to the 2 minute mark. Often 1:30 is tough.

I live at 6400 elevation, when I am home I struggle with the holds but not when I’m closer to sea level. Do you have any advice? thank you for your beautiful exercises.
After 2 weeks I started to feel massive amounts of anxiety. I had to stop the meditation because it became too bad. Now almost 6 weeks later I still experience anciety and worry. It is like everything around me is falling apart and don't know what is going on or what to do. I decided to go to a breathwork teacher now for extra guidance. Thank you Sandy for these video's. I really underestimated them...but I feel I need to hold on to these practices.

Yes it’s a pretty activating breath session. Creating a positive stress response. But if you continue in meditation with gentle breathing through your nose for a few minutes after the session your heart rate will go back down 🙏🏼
Love this channel. Thank you. Also, in my experience, breath retention is easier on an empty stomach. My longest retention times are while fasting. I believe that when we eat, blood moves towards stomach, interrupting flow of oxygen throughout the body.

I live up in northeast Minnesota in the beautiful city of Duluth which is located on the western most point of Gitchi Gami (lake superior) largest and coldest freshwater lake in the country I believe. I appreciate these videos more than you could imagine. Life has been chaos lately. I am a self employed arborist and between owning the business and actually doing the work, I carry a lot of stress and anxiety on a day to day basis. Earlier this year I started dealing with more depression and anxiety. Recently found your videos after using Wim Hofs breathing methods for a while and I look forward to starting my day, and finishing my day, with your videos. My crew does basic breathing now everyday along with our morning stretching before jobs. I have to thank you for these videos.
This is the breathing exercise popularized several years ago by the Ice Man. If you download his app you can modify number and length of rounds, background music, keep track of your retention times, etc.
