Well, some of them ARE pretty well documented. I mean, it's well known Elvis WAS with her when she was 14. For some people that's pretty bad. It's just a sad fact that a lot of the creators of the greatest art in this world were not always very nice people.

Having a bad life, a hard upbringing, I am sure you realize does not absolve someone of bad deeds. The one thing I will say is, that as famous people, these peoples' sins are somehow magnified for some. WE are ALL the same in the eyes of the Lord though. God bless 'em all. (and us)

What they didn't 'report' is that after Johnny Cash got clean, he spent the rest of his life trying to make things right with everyone. Drugs and alcohol are not known for transforming people into shining examples of humanity and even musicians have very human issues. That's not to dismiss or excuse anything but it stands to reason as an explanation for his 'women troubles'. You have to be able to truly love yourself first, before you can love anyone else, and the truth is that the majority of people that struggle with substance abuse wrestle with that exact element within themselves no matter what kind of confident persona that they may put on the outside. It takes both a literal and figurative sober, honest look at oneself to begin the path to change. Johnny Cash did just that. I've already heard about his slip-ups, which are a pretty normal part of trying to kick any addictive habit. That doesn't mean a person isn't trying, it means that the allure of the substance is stronger than they are at that specific point in time. I have seen way too many people struggle with addiction, some of them pretty close to me, not to have taken notice of these things. I commend anyone that can successfully kick a habit for good. I've seen what those closest to me have gone through. So if anyone reads this and is currently going through it, just know that you can do it. You just have to want it badly enough. You have to resolve yourself. If you fall, get back up and keep trying. If not for yourself, than for the people that love and care about you, the people that want YOU back. I'll just leave this message here in case anyone needs to see it. That and what experience that I have with people struggling with addiction, I still stand behind Johnny Cash. He made his amends. Let the man rest in peace.
