The piece you welded on should be fine! If it was me I think I would have a 1/4 inch thick plate steel to back it. Like a all the way around the wench taped and screwed add 2 screws to the broken part. I know they are torque monsters. Just. Thought!! Nice work!!!!

While I absolutely give kudos for the workmanship, I really don’t think I would have wasted all the time and skill on a winch that is only rated for 440 pounds…. Must be a misprint on the rating sticker? The size of that gearing makes me think it should be 2000 kg, not 200. Always go by the sticker though.

Thanks for your question. In that video, we didn't adjust the lighting. So the welding light will be harmful to the viewer. We never wanted that. So have covered it. And let's enjoy the weld in the following video . Thank you
