I wish I could have keeped Rusty's doglegs and repaired them but they were pretty bad...Thanks for teaching Mike! This is very helpful. Now please do the battery area! =)
I have a 57 bus and a 67 bus. They are in pretty good shape. Its amazing how much better the factory fit and finish is on the 67. The early ones were work vehicles and it shows.
I so agree with your comments re: perfect versus good enough. I don’t have enough life left to try for “restoration” quality. Don’t have the money either. That’s why I work on my own stuff.
Are you familiar with Corrosion X. I used it to spray with a specialty wand inside the wing of an airplane. Take a look it might be something u could use for those areas
Wel Mike an interesting point of view bud as you said earlier everyone has to do it in there one way. Bud, I 've to say you are doing a great job, well done. will be nice to see the bus ready and done.Greetings, from HCS.
I do not know where this every gap on the vehicle has to be perfect trend came from. My bus is original paint, never been hit in the front. You will not make the gaps perfect unless you rework all the original metal. It looks good as is. I like your video! Your bus is moving right along
There are some oil coating cans (for preserving tube like areas on cars ) and they come with a long hose which Will allow you to spray all the areas of the dog leg . Attach this attachment to a paint can and it will be great
Mike like your procress make it stong not perfect; spending a year or more of your life on perefec.. Crazy when good enough will be strong and get it on the road to drive and enjoy. My delays on my bus mainly have been heath issues and life, but i must say yes i spent stupid time trying and worrying about it being perfect...My flaw not the bus, so now i'm almost 66 & i need to stop being stupid and get my bus on the road while i can still drive..
