In this video I am finally using some of my skills I learned in my 20 year career as an auto body technician. We are going to find out together how big of an improvement we can make on this 25+ year old paint job by using a $100 budget Harbor Freight buffer. Tosh has been wanting to buff this thing ever since we bought it back and the results are really amazing. If you did not see the other videos we made on this little car it is a 72 Mg Midget that me and my wife owned when we first got married at 19 years old. After we sold it it sat in a storage building for 17 years and was infested with rats and other various animals. There will be more videos to come of this car so stay tuned.

That buff and polish job made a night and day difference.Red is bad about fading ,I was surprised how well it turned out,nice deep looking shine..I had a can of Mequiars for probably 20 years or more,the sponge started falling apart,but the wax was still good..Animals can sense good people,it looks like that cat felt right at home there!

Man SLEEPERDUDE you did a really good job on the car man. It really came out looking really nice man. That Harbor freight buffer worked really really well. When you was at the trunk you can see the difference & on the side of the car you could see you wearing your flip flops 🩴 really good through the paint on the car. I use mother's on my car too. This car is definitely getting some TLC. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing it.

What podcasts are you listening to?? And you know we know you didn't just cut the wife off on that call, right? Sorta a lot like we know who needed the pry bar at the hotel. Just sayin'... Showing us your old skill set of buffing out this car was so helpful. I have a few scratches in my clear-coat from some tree branches that need buffing. I feel more confident doing it now without worrying I'll mess it up. It is impressive what a hundred dollar buffer and some time and a little elbow grease will do for a 25 year old car. So glad you did this one. And once again, it's fun to see the whole family get in on the action and watch you teach your children what you know. Strong work Josh Dillon.

"Lacquer" Cracking good/BAD good that lacquer take a shine, but not much you can do about the crackles, except repaint. red was most highly used, so could find gal on the open market. it is not made any more. she did shine up nicely.

Hi sleeperdude and family my brother in law had a midget in the 1980 s .he and my sister came down to vist from newcastle upon tyne down herefordshire on their way home on the motorway .the engine fell out of it lucky they where ok the midget wasn t it was scrapped

The mg miget and the mgbgt were fantastic I think with a webber 45 or twin su carburettors it will run great there was a similar car at the same time called the frog eyed sprite lots of people put a rover v8 in them .

It's looking good now, well done guys. It would be worth sorting out that corrosion before it gets any worse. Josh... two other things, First... The Headlight Chrome Rim is normally held in place with a single self-tapping screw. There should be a countersunk hole which aligns with a metal tag on the inner backing bowl, It's usually at the bottom, somewhere between 5 and 7 o'clock. From memory I think the screw needs to be about 1 inch long. Second... I would loose that spoiler under the front bumper, it's not original and looks home-made from what I can see now, and, it's too close to the ground so eventually it's gonna get torn off and cause other damage.
