An artist's imagination, an engineer's practicality of design, metalworking, finish carpentry, and shop mechanics all come together to not only look beautiful but work beautifully. Well done! Thanks! Made my morning.
До самого окончания ролика не мог понять что это такое. Удивительный стол. Удобно и на века !!! Великолепная работа. Успехов Вам и процветания. ************** Until the very end of the video, I could not understand what it was. An amazing table. Convenient and for ages !!! Great job. I wish you success and prosperity.
This was "ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!" Super beautiful...super creative...super ingenious...OUTSTANDING creativity. It is OUTSTANDING and very useful. I want one!! One of the very BEST restoration videos I've seen with various restoration worldwide channels!!!! I salute you!!
I know it is two years ago, but I just saw this for the first time. I thought the restored jack looked very nice. Then, of course, you made an adjustable table with it, which I think looks amazing! It is a very nice style and would look good anywhere from a garage or workshop to something classy like a gentleman's den. Top notch work!
That worked out nicely, the jack looks great but it would just sit in a corner doing nothing other than being admired, now it's part of a functional desk and given a new life. Well done!
У Вас потрясающие видео! Золотые руки! Сегодня весь день смотрю Ваши видео 😍 Нравится ,как поют птицы, нравится Ваш кот и звуки реставрации. СПАСИБО за эстетическое удовольствие 😇
You are amazing to watch, perfection in motion. The years of training really shows. I took a college class in metle work and appreciate your expertise.
This rustic-industrial hybrid is my absolute jam. It's hard to find furniture in this style! "The wood may be stronger than the metal frame. We'll weaken the wood to avoid this problem." Chad Oak vs. Virgin Steel? Salut Mme Avril! This desk is yours to walk across and interrupt as often as you please.
A very quick trick my dad showed me is to rub your bit / screwdriver against a magnet for a while and it will retain the magnetism for a few weeks usually. Beautiful desk, I hope to be able to make one this nice someday!
I wish I had seen one of those jacks when I lived in Toulouse/Carcassonne. Makes me want to go back for a while and look for things like this. Gorgeous restoration.
So I like watching things get fixed, and I'm watching this and it's awesome, and I get a blast of hot dog breath because my collie puppy loves this. I don't know if it's just him or if it's a dog thing, but he loves it and when I turned it off he went back downstairs.
AWESOME !! Finally, someone who knows how to weld properly, not just tapping the joint with the welder to join the pieces, but someone who lays down a beautiful weld. magnificent job!!!
how wonderful it is to be so mightily skilled in literally everything. working with metal, wood, electricity, just anything. looks like real magic, and so satisfying to watch!
Love watching, restoration is such an interesting hobby. Being a person who lives and works on a farm, I know quite a bit about reusing old things to make something for a specific task. Enjoyed seeing your process and how you reused the old jack to make an adjustable desk.
Awesome You are a fabulous craftsman in all areas from wood to electrics, you really put your heart and sole into all your restrictions and I enjoy watching what would of put on the tip to its glorious way it was to begin with when first made. Thank you all your great videos. I like how youmace the jack into a desk. I bet Avril will enjoy resting on it hee hee. Amanda from Scotland
First; the jack was an excellent quality find and even better restoration! The wood repair, gluing screws and bluing the important parts...First Cabin!! I love that it had a horizontal tab for a toe jack! Adding it to a desk with an amazing Oak top and making it adjustable height Really Made it Sing vintage. Over the top in quality stick welds and engineering design...strong stable and highly functional...best of all worlds, new and old! Thank You for sharing your great work and fine videography! Finally Sub'd! Hat Tip ~PJ
I like the idea this was turned into a desk. Fabulous job! I just love the old fashioned way of arc welding. I was taught the most about arc welding back in 9th grade as a high schooler. Wasn't taught much of mig welding though. Just the fact you gotta knock off the flux with a hammer and wire brush after welding lol
Absolutely stunning. Not just the restoration of the original jack, but the reimagining and ultimate implementation of it into a sitting/standing desk design.
That is the best steampunk upcycling that I have seen on RU-vid. Absolutely amazing. I also noted that you are a master craftsman because you lined up the notches in the screws...perfection!
I'm not a fan of *re-purposing* tools and other items but this is one item that would probably never be used as originally meant to be. So, I say you did a fantastic job finding a new life for this jack as well as restoring it. Well Done!!!
Just Awesome!! May I be so bold as to suggest adding brass retaining chain to pin, so as to not loose it and a nice accent to the brass plate? Bravo!! Beautiful work as always!!
What a fantastic job, I love seeing old things being restored and repurposed for something new. Awesome idea and great craftsmanship. Thanks for an awesome video sir.
Avril is a very fussy stage personality. She makes many ridiculous demands about her dressing room, getting only her good side on camera, wanting fussy little treats from les patisseries and les boulangeries, etc etc etc. Not worth the hassle! 🤨😉
