Restoring the Nervous System with Herbal Medicines

In our modern fast paced world, the human nervous system tends to get taxed from long term stress, lack of sleep, overuse of stimulants, food intolerance, and overall poor daily habits.
Rather than reach for the more commonly used adaptogenic herbs, working with nervine trophorestoratives is oftentimes a better option for many people- as the nervous system tends to get burned out long before the adrenals do!
In this video you will learn the importance of the often overlooked category of herbal medicines called nervine trophorestoratives, along with 7 herbs that I have commonly used to help replenish, restore, and strengthen the nerves.
The formula mentioned in the video is as follows:
Avena sativa (Milky Oats seed) 20%
Scutellaria lateriflora (Skullcap) 20%
Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort) 20%
Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) 10%
Ocimum sanctum (Holy Basil/Tulsi) 10%
Melissa officinalis (Lemon Balm) 10%
Turnera diffusa (Damiana) 10%

I made a Skullcap and Lemon Balm tea (flavoured with Licorice) last night after a long period of irritability/low mood/restless sleeps/eye twitching/cramps/nervousness and all I can say is it made an amazing difference. After the tea and reading for a short while I sunk into nap and had this feeling of restorative wellness. Herbs are incredible.

@Tromsat I would love to make a tincture of skullcap and lemonbalm. I heard you steep herbs in vodka? I'm not sure what the herb-vodka ratio is, steeping time and then what is a good dosage. Have you got any information that may help?

@Tromsat Thank you so much. Wow, 6-8 weeks. No wonder those little tincture bottles are so expensive. I have two big bags of dry herbs so I'll start making it today.

Just so you know I have had severe panic attacks daily for the last 10 years I thought I had tried everything and had lost hope. I recently tried your top 3 morning and at night and ive feel like ive literally been cured. I still feel it coming on once in awhile but then I just remind myself that it wont last more then a few minutes and it always subsides. Im not scared of it anymore which i believe is the root cause of panic. YOU ARE LITERALLY A GENIUS THANK YOU SO MUCH ! Mine were so bad I literally thought there was no one else on this planet that went through what i was going though.THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!! Ive watched hundreds of videos on youtube about it and nothing has done what yours did for me ! SOME HOW THIS REMEDY NEEDS TO BE MORE TALKED ABOUT FOR PEOPLE SUFFERING !!!!

Sedonia Dragotta yeah I know, I’ve had some within a year, randomly. which left me feeling anxious in fight flight and freeze often. I’ve changed my diet, tried all supplements, some medication and nothing helped. So really looking for something that can help

@@JennellBarrett try a plant base gluten free diet and take ashwagandha and drink herbal teas . Valerian is good for anxiety it's a lot bitter and really has a not pleasant strong smell to it and bitter taste, but you can over come that by adding mint tea bag with it or lemon and allegare syrup. Try raw till 4 for a month . It will help you a lot. Will be hard but keep trying to stick to this and I bet in a months time u feel great. Ashwagandha takes two weeks to kick in but after two weeks you will start to feel the benefits of the and ashwagandha root and valerian. Take care of your body and mind on the inside first flush out all toxins in your life . I understand anxiety and I'm sorry your so anxious but there is always a way out of anything okay

Makes so much sense when you think the nervous system responds to stimuli instantly, whereas the hormonal system is slower. So it would figure that supporting the nervous system will have a downstream positive effect on the endocrine system 🙏🏻

I started taking a drop of lemon balm essential oil on my tongue while living in New York city (I know many say not to ingest essential oils but oh well, I am a rebel) and it was extremely helpful for me, my nervous system had become quite imbalanced from the city life. And I give it partial credit for keeping my immune system in good shape- during the 5 years I did this regularly, I did not catch the flu, even when my partner was sick and coughing on me all night long. I was happy that lemon balm was mentioned here, it is such a gem.

Trophorestorative - Hawthorn berry. Reishi too. Calm Shen in TCM classification. I like Borage, Linden and Blue Vervain in tinctures. Linden is nice as a warm infusion. You've mentioned you like Acorus as a digestive. Acorus also has a effect on Shen by the same phlegm clearing actions on the heart in TCM theory. Thats how I like to use it. See what you think on this application. Thanks

Start with a few. If it does not work, exchange it with a different herb, one at a time, until you find what does work. It gets better with practice. Overload comes with occasional study.

Thanks for the info. You pretty much described my mother's symptoms to a t. I've been looking for a solution for a long time and I think I'm ready. Sounds like she needs milky oat tincture, for sure. I researched how to make one and "she is of the woods" lady perfectly explained how to make one. I found milky oats, they're in the mail 😃 Ok, next... Scullcap, St. John worth, lavender she needs for sure. I'm thinking about starting with that. How would you adjust the percentages of this formula? Also, scullcap, St John's Worth, and lavender.... All tinctures, infusion, teas??? Very new to this, sorry. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you can find a spare minute. Any favorite beginner's books??? I had multiple family tragic deaths, and trying to keep an even keel mentally with work, home, family issues that need to be dealt with on daily basis is sometimes overwhelming, stressful, and draining. You speak of stress such as city living that can lead to adrenal burnout. My situation is different: I had 5 very bad stealth infections and was on herbal microbials and that wouldn’t work so I took 2 antibiotics for 8 months. The infections damaged my central nervous system in my brain and spinal cord. Will these herbs you speak of help me with this? I’m not talking about the peripheral nervous system. This is not nervous system burnout. It’s damage to the central nervous system. Damaged Nerves.

It would mean the world to me if you responded. My nervous system is so bad I can’t get a drop of sleep. My body will twitch everytime im trying to fall asleep or if I take a tea or anything sedative to sleep my body will go into fight or flight alert mode and won’t let me sleep. And when I do get so exhausted from not sleeping days weeks it will be tiny naps of nightmares that eventually make me awake. I think my endocrine system is messed up also. I’m on fight or flight all day. I’m so tired and I can’t do anything about it. 😔 anything to help heal my nervous system throughout the day since I’m unable to sleep.
