It looks like you are priming and painting the entire jamb. Your book says to leave the sides of the window sashes, along with the top of the top and the bottom of the bottom unpainted, so that they can dry out naturally when wet. Some of my old window jambs were only half-painted, either top or bottom, depending on position. I've stripped and sanded them and have a high-quality oil based primer, would you paint the entire jamb (except inside the channel of the parting bead), or match it to the former paintjob? Thanks for all of your videos and blogs!

Do you only use IR heat on the sashes and not the frames?

What do you call the 1/4 round trim at the bottom of the outside part of a french window? It has a groove or section cut out at the bottom. Do I buy regular trim and alter it or is it it's own thing? This is on a 100 year old Craftsman home. Thanks, Shanna

What if you don't want the casing on to be painted? What would you finish the wood with to keep it natural? I"m thinking spar urethane but the drying time takes forrrrevverrrrr.

Spar works great or depending on the climate simple finishing wax will work too.

Not at all. Just follow the lead safe work practices recommended by the EPA and you’ll be fine. I have some posts on my site thecraftsmanblog.com as well.
