I have this radio and I like it but the mp3 recording function uses blade encoding and lame encoding is much better. I wish that there was a firmware update to fix this. And yes I checked the manufacturer's website and nothing.
The sound on that thing is awesome. The only reason I went for the Kaito Ka 110 is because it has WB and 64gig SD card capabilities. I wish Retekess would revise this radio and add the WB and 64GB capabilities.
nice, i have been looking to buy a radio like this, i just ordered mine. I live in Nashville and it is down as free one day shipping for the next 9 hours so i will get it tomorrow!
When it shows a ✔️Prime underneath the products on your link on Amazon-does that mean anyone can choose a product or do you have to have an Amazon credit card associated with it?
The battery back in this radio is the same as used in those older Nokia battery packs (A Nokia BL-5C). You can buy them on amazon here: www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0006HP7NC/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all They run about 5 to 6 bucks each
@@Iridium242 That's useful to know. Another youtuber I really like liked the v117 better because it takes 2 aaa batteries I think, that these were too "proprietary", but I think buy a couple or 3 backups, and if shtf, you're set, Especially like you said with a fold-up solar panel. OR another option I just found out about is this miniature wind mill that charges things. Of course that's no good if you live where there's no wind. Just another trick to keep up your sleeve, I guess.
The V115 receiver, is very insensitive on the shortwave band. To overcome this I added an external JFET RF preamp. The story is here: www.vk6fh.com/vk6fh/V115receiver.htm
