We have met so many cool people and visited so many cool gardens, but today we want to show you something really special! A couple weeks ago, a customer reached out to us for some raised beds. When we showed up to the site to check it out, we were so confused because our GPS had taken us to a gigantic parking lot of a produce distribution company! Turns out, in a corner of that parking lot was a retention basin that only recently was converted into a baby food forest.
As we got to know the company owner better, we learned how stressful his line of work can be. This retention basin has now become the coolest break room we've ever seen! While we were installing beds all day, what really moved us was how many employees would come outside for their break, and how much everyone seemed to genuinely love that space.
In addition to laying a bunch of raised beds, our customer also wanted 14 new citrus trees planted! We reached out to our friend Martin for help, and he handled that entire part of the project! We're so lucky to have met so many awesome people in the gardening community.
We also want to give a shout out to A&P Nurseries! Their Queen Creek location is right down the road from our house, and they literally have all the soil, amendments, and plant foods that we ever need. We appreciate that convenience!!
Have you ever seen so many fruit trees in a parking lot before? Where's the coolest place you've ever seen a food forest? Let us know in the comments!

Nice looking food garden...the loquats look happy...the ONLY thing I would say...and I learned from repeat experience...is those mints should be separated...the roots will ultimately take over everything else. Nice setup !

loquats are my favorite, they were growing in my park near my house in san diego when I was a kid and I knew where to find loquats all over town hanging over fences or growing wild on road sides.

Can you make a video how to fight mites/aphids? did you have any bug issues in your garden?

We do get random infestations of certain bugs in our own garden of certain bugs, but we've found that it's best to not stress too much over it. When you stop spraying pesticides, you're start to find that nature will balance out the pests with beneficial insects. Last year, we had a TON of aphids on a few of our fruit trees. They weren't causing too much damage, so we let them be. A few weeks later, we noticed praying mantises in the yard, and the aphid problem wasn't a problem for much longer! Don't give up! :D
