You can purchase metal darning needles as well. The eye is about 1/2 inch long, the tip is blunt. I use a flat headed screwdriver to open the eye a bit. Do it carefully to avoid breaking the needle. They're usually 2 for 1.00 at Wally World. Buy multiple packs if you're prone to misplacing them.

@Bindi_Marc
@Bindi_Marc 4 года назад
@@TunisiaAli Yes, thats the one. My first set of locs were traditional and the london locker was a life save. Since writing this comment I have tried it on my new set of micro locs ( ~720 locs) and Im finding I do have to be very gentle bc with the teeny tiny locs some times the "push down" part can be a little large depending on how small your locs are.

That’s good for your your honesty.Like you say you takes risks with your hair.Thats totally understood. I believe the life you live depends on the choices you make the risks you takes, and how lucky or unlucky you’ve been .Taking risk to achieving a goal requires courage to face the fear of uncertainty . No matter the outcome , either way ,we grow thr the process and become more resilient and confident . Butter yet ,building those skills helps in taking more risks and improves the chances of in achieving future goals for ourselves.

Girl, I love the way your mind works! You have a lot of wisdom. $1200 may sound steep and it is all at once , BUT if you do it, it will be the best investment t you have ever made, because it will become more than the hair. I discuss the price and if locks are for you and why it's the best choice in a few videos. The clues may be in the title. I give some sound reasons why and comparisons like the fact that most people spend over $1200 a year on cell phone or 3xs that much on eating out (poison). So for me, it's how you look at it. Not to mention you are supporting other Goddesses. Most of what we spend on leaves our community a d we are less likely to turn our dollars over even once in our community compared to other groups..I think you e just inspired me to do another video discusses this view and soliciting feedback from our ladies. Thank you Portia, and you know I'm gonna give you a shout out!! LOL. Look for it within the next few days to several days.

Walmart has 3 for 170 and you can’ put in boiling water and curve it and open the hole to make it larger or like the nappy loc took small at top to hold the hair and larger in the middle to accommodate any size loc, also you can cut it and file the edge smooth

@TunisiaAli
@TunisiaAli 4 года назад
Hey Portia! The retightenings should NOT hurt. Let that be your alarm that your loctician is too heavy handed. Remember pain means damage. Our root bases are sensitive, especially around the front edges and long term retightenings that are too heavy handed can lead to long term hair loss over time. Watch the trauma sis. Your retis shouldn't hurt. Sending you love!

OMG!! Thank you. Just spent $24 bucks on a nappy lock tool. Since it goes to one of our own who actually participates in our styles, it's still ok. I wonder if this tool is marketed to us by those who dont even don our styles or respect the beauty of our hair, just wondering. Every now and again these days I get tired so seeing others profit off of the very things they have traditionally despised us for, ya know. I'll get it still, since I do have the nappylock tool. I'm thinking that might be the difference in price. Hmmmm...Much love to you for the suggestion. Thank you!

I know this is late but it'll help someone out there. The three pattern is typically used for thin hair. The loc is looser, takes up more space and looks thick. If your hair is prone to more than 50% shrinkage, the three pattern doesn't negate that. You might think your hair isn't growing as a result. It is. You'll just have a full-looking set of locs. 4 pattern locs result in a tighter weave and look more uniform. They're perfect for thick hair.
