Retribution Paladin Hero Talents Herald of the Sun VS. Templar 

Thanks for taking the time to explain, was having a hard time deciding which spec to go for.

One thing i noticed and would strongly encourage you to take is the ret talent "judge,jury and executioner". They re-worked it and it turns FV into an aoe and that thing hits like an absolute truck

I feel herald will be the way to go for season 1 and 2. Templat 3 and 4 when we gave higher crit values. I've played with both and they make the spec fell different in their own ways.

I think you’re right about Templar being ST focused and Herald being AoE focused. Hammer of light having cleave is so you can take it on Tyrannical weeks without losing as much overall dps. But can we all agree that this bit of uncertainty is actually good? I mean if we have so much versatility in talents that we’re able to argue merits of our options, I take that as a win. Before, it was obvious which talent was best at ST and AoE.

As far as I can tell Harold of the Sun will be better in mythic plus when it is the fortified weeks going full aoe has always been the strongest choice there. Were templay with 3 to 5 target cleave will be the best choice for tyranical weeks. Esp with the free powered up procs of divine storm, and allowing your final verdict to 3 target cleave.

I think you are right, but I'm pretty much going to say with Templar. Because we already have to pick between ST and AOE in our talents. Though we have gotten some cleave in TWW. But still. I think going with the more ST/cleave of Templar, but using Mplus build for dungeons will give us that aoe we need, but a bit more priority target damage to raise our boss damage for MPlus. And then in Raid, outside of a council fight, I think the big WHAP of Light's hammer will go good against bosses. Although I'm not impressed with Light's Hammer animation. its like a white explosion with some white hot blades of justtice. I wan to see a huge honking hamer just fall into the the ground like an execution Sentence.

wonder if walking around with that light beam won't be a nuisance in movement

I've played both Templar and herald of the sun and Templar feels good, but herald of the sun is the better spec I have to say, the reason is that It's way too hard to get 5 holy power to then use the hammer, I found times that I used a heal after wake of ashes and then was like now I can't use the hammer and have to build up again

wake of ashes doesn't give 5 hp anymore. it's only 3

I hate all this talent switching I want one spec to rule them all don't want to keep switching specs based on what im doing

idk with all those hammers templar seems aoe too
