Good question. It’s a few years old now so I doubt it’s in warranty.

I’m increasingly doing that and close to giving up on SkyEcho. But it always used to be an easy trouble shoot. It’s just got worse as it gets older. But yes you’re right of course.

I’m aware of that but it’s nonsense to suggest that these old garmins provide the same situational awareness as SkyDemon. They simply don’t.

@@CharlieLamdin A sky echo that is not transmitting the data to the Skydeamon is not only failing to provide information it is also distracting from the task of navigating the aircraft. I see an aircraft with two GPS units working correctly and the pilot distracted by the only GPS that is not working. Why not use Sky Deamon for what it is intended situational awareness rather than primary navigation. Put your flight plan in the ( reliable ) Garmin follow that flight plan and back it up with the info off the iPad . It seems to me that you are not making any use of the most accurate and reliable kit on the aircraft. You flight perfectly demonstrated why I don’t own a skyecho and don’t use my iPad as a primary navigation tool.

Because I can’t easily plot my route as accurately in Garmin. But you’re right about the distraction.

@@CharlieLamdin the Garmin gives the option of plotting waypoints as LAT/Long or RAD/DIS from a database waypoint. When planning with Sky demon these can be easily found. My favourite option is RAD/DIS from the nearest VOR or NDB. This will give accurate track keeping when put into the Garmin flight plan.
