Return to Belhaven! Then on to Oriental, North Carolina (Episode 52: Sailing 9 LIVES)

We continue sailing along in North Carolina, choosing the Pungo River / Alligator River Canal for our return to Belhaven, birthplace of the ICW. Our friends at the Belhaven Marina went out of their way to assist us with some logistical challenges, and then we were off to a day of sailing in the Pamlico Sound and Neuse River on our way to Oriental.

It's not that I don't enjoy the back logged footage of the trip south on the ICW. But you made a point of telling us about the major damage to the boat during Hurricane Ian in Florida last fall, and haven't updated us since on what is happening. Did you undertake reflooring the boat and trying to refit it, or did your insurance total it out? Are you guys looking for your next boat or are you planning any other new adventures?

It is true, revealing some real-time updates likely was to the detriment of trying to get current on our backlog. But... we did it. I am hoping to churn through the backlog and get caught up over the next few months. What we are doing currently is pursuing a few non-sailing projects while looking for the next sailboat. 9 LIVES was destroyed with no insurance payout (they dropped us a year prior due to the age of the boat). But, we're over it. Life is good, and we are enjoying ourselves... and preparing to be sailing again soon!
