Return to Dark Tower: Covenant | Playthrough 

Hallelujah! Someone who does great playthroughs has finally done one that actually uses one of the expansions. I never thought I would finally see the day. This is a personal favorite of mine, so it’s great to see.

When the publishers designed Dark Tower, their primary goal was to make life difficult for RU-vid board game channels filming playthroughs. That's the only reason why there is the tower in the middle of the board, so it will obscure the other side! That and because it looks cool. Okay...probably mostly because it looks cool! lol Looking forward to watching, Colin!

Thanks for the play through. I just played covenant for the first time! I really enjoyed the play through although I had far worse luck than you. I was playing the quarry wrong, which could have made things a bit easier. I was just living the bird, not the foe attached to it! Thanks again! Excited to give it another go!

At 1:23:53, you should have lost warriors if spine fiends were in your kingdom, not just adjacent. Minor issue, I think. Great play through as always!

Looking great again, Colin! That Lazy Suzan works like a charm. Must be a huge one, because the play mat is huge. Can you make a (short) video how you made that. You probably had to do some 'custom handywork' 😆

After you built the monuments I don't think you could also go and move the caravans, I thought that would be considered a quest which is a heroic action and since you already took a heroic action (building the monuments) that would mean no more Heroic actions could be taken. Am I wrong?

love this game so much! can you do a base game playthrough?

Played the original back in the day. I still remember the original commercial with Orson Wells. Check it out on RU-vid for a nice retro blast. Sadly I don't have it anymore. And getting a working on one now is pretty pricey although there are apps that simulate it so you can see what it was like. It was very different for the time,81' to 82',but it's pretty basic and the combat is very random. The one thing that makes it really hard compared to the new one is that you need to have food for your troops or they starve. Interesting but annoying. Lol. Might be an interesting difficulty mode for this game. So when I heard about this a couple of years ago I picked it up right away. Especially since the creator of Gloomhaven helped in it's design. I've played it a bunch of times and it is a good game although a bit too easy in single player. Playing with 4 people really ups the challenge since everyone has to work together and it's easy for things to get out of control. Haven't played competitive mode yet though which is a different thing altogether. Have all the stuff for it, including a rotating base for the board thanks to having a lot of cake decorating equipment,but haven't gotten the Covenant expansion yet. I like the Alliances expansion mainly for the new cards and characters but it does make the board even bigger. Lol. The app didn't bother me but I did have to go out and buy a new tablet as my old one wouldn't play nice with the app. Lol. I've heard some people say that they would have liked the Tower itself to have the app built into it with a screen on it like the original Dark Tower but that would probably make the cost of the game insane and it is enough already as it is. Either way it's nice to see you play it Colin. I mentioned it once before but you might be interested in playing Robotech Attack on the SDF-1. Great single player and co op game that is like Star Trek Panic on steroids.

kept thinking you were saying query token not quarry token. APP for this game only seemed to enhance the game, showing you on the APP the location where stuff happens better than drawing form a deck IMO
