ODB got bangers! Shimmy Shimmy Ya Brooklyn Zoo Hippa to da Hoppa Raw Hide Baby I Got Your Money Cutting’ Headz Don’t U Know Damage Fantasy (Mariah Carey f/ODB)
I got lock Up in Sep 95. Had the Purple TAPE in my pocket. Got out in Sep 97 this shit just came out. Went bought Purple Tape on CD and this double disc. Memories lol
Try "Impossible". RZA spits crazy as do U-God and Ghost. There are really too many to name so keep listening but if you want to hear him spit solo try "12 Jewels".
7:34 when Dirty talks about his Grandfather. He's talking about Fredrick Cuffie who was from the Shinnecock Tribe and the owner of Manhatten island. He sold it to the white people. You can look it up. Yes Dirty also Native American blood.
lol they kept showing Inspektah Deck in the video while GZA was rapping... can't blame you it through me off too ( I was like wait... is that INS? it is... oh wait its not wtf?)
RZA has a whole solo album. My favorite is Tragedy. For more Wu, go check out the songs Shadowboxing and 4th Chamber by GZA with features. The longer u listen to Wu, the more you realize there's not one better than the other. They each peak on different songs and shine individually on their solo albums.
Respect to the Wu reaction! If you are asking for other tracks on this level? "For Heavenz Sake", Inspectah Deck goes crazy on that, and also "Heaterz". Both are on the same album as "Reunited". I knew you would come around on Old Dirty😄.
Like others have said GZA leads off this track. Deck leads off the next track on the album “For Heavens Sake” and goes insane. Also “A Better Tomorrow” off this album, both Deck and RZA have amazing verses. “Uzi (Pinky Ring)” is a legendary Wu banger from their fourth album Iron Flag which has almost the whole crew. “Y’all Been Warned” another classic from that album. If you want to hear RZA go outer space crazy listen to “Impossible”
Did yall see that was Angela Ye in the video on the chorus? But one of RZAs best verses I personally think is on "Impossible". GhostFace has the best verse on that track by far though, he gets deep.
Wu-Tang Forever released in June of 1997 this was the first song on the album. The first track was some dude from Staten Island talking about 5%er ideology. The first verse was GZA. Inspektah Deck was the first verse on Triumph, but he wasn't on this song. Also, this isn't an official music video. Wu-Tang didn't make a video for this song. ODB is not a good rapper, but he's entertaining. That song on Pac's album was originally supposed to be on a Dogg Pound album and it had a verse from Inspektah Deck. Pac took the song and replaced Deck with himself, but you can still hear random ad libs from Deck at the end of the song
Fun fact, the Asian shorty at the end of the video is Angela Yee (Breakfast Club). She was the GZA's manager at the time. The other female doing the hook goes by Ms. Roxy.
Try RZA "A Day To God is 1000 years" or AZ ft RZA "What ever Happened".. RZA is RZA on them songs. well ONE of his personalities. or try Wu Tang Clan "Impossible".. RZA spazzes on that too or Raekwon "Wu-Gambinos" GZA's "4th Chamber" Ghostface Killah "one" or "After the Smoke Clears"
RZA was in his Gravediggaz bag, “The Pick, The Sickle, and The Shovel was coming (97) ……that snot nose, “what the bloodclat” Method Man everybody was looking for was on “Scary Hours (Cash Rules pt 2)….that was the one on that album….the beat, that Wu trio, the verses…..🫡
Dirt dog is that drunken master x factor! Vibes and energy! My favorite odb track is "goin down" please check that song! Goes so hard! And really is the epitome of dirt magirt in a nutshell! As unique as it gets! Trust
I would love to hear ya react to Aesop Rock - Kodokushi That beat is insane. I was torn between Kodokushi and Shrunk(he's talking about going to therapy, but his metaphors are God level).
im sure the chat has told you that it was GZA on the first Verse not Deck.. but Deck and GZA and WIDELY considered the TWO BEST PURE LYRICIST in the group.. ppl like Rae and Ghost street bars ppl like meth and Odb energy but Deck and GZA had the best lyrics
GZA first verse. Check out GZA/Meth Shadowboxing. Track goes crazy. Killin it out here wit the reactions. Method Man Killin fields is a good track to check out his sword play
Lyrically, RZA on this whole album was phenomenal. It was disappointing when he released his solo joint, Bobby Digital after this album bc he did "dumb it down". Definitely do Tragedy by RZA. It shouldve been on Forever. It was from the Ryhme and Reason (hiphop documentary) soundtrack.
You wanna hear a o'l dirty bastard song????...then listen to: DAMAGE FT THE GZA!!!!!!!!!!....You wanna hear a good RZA song?????...watch The RZA video:Tragedy!!!!!.....Really listen to those two songs.....you wanna hear a good method man song?????? Listen to methodman: bring the pain!!!!!!!!!!!!💯💯💯💯💯✌.
Inspectah Deck was probably the best lyricist of the group back then but now it's for sure Method Man. Meth at one point decided to stop cussing in his raps and it forced him to improve his pen. Listen to Conway the Machine Lemon (Ft. Method Man)
A few things: 1. Numerous people have already pointed out that's GZA, not Deck. 2. Ya'll talked about the violins being good but ya'll reacted to the short version of this song, missing the dopeness of the violins on the outro of the regular album version. 3. Based upon points 1 & 2, ya'll need to do a little more research/prep before posting vids.
