+yung cereal I an in total agreement. Someone above mentions that he is overrated. To be honest, I originally thought the same, but if you watch the game carefully and focus on his actions then you will realize that he is not overrated at all.
That was the great thing about Zidane: even if it was not a good day for him he was always the most skillful player on the pitch. Greetings from France
Zidane may not score 300-400 goal during his time, but his vision, touch, passing and even dribbling that make the world admire him....... even Pele,Maradona and Beckenbauer admire him and said Zidane was one of the best football player we ever see.........Coming from German fans....
He probably didn't score enough goals- one should rememebr he played in italy when defending was an art, and defenders could still be rough. today it is a different game.
For me personally his greatest game was the 2006 World Cup Quarterfinals against Brazil. He singlehandly controlled the match against a stacked Brazil squad, all at the age of 34 yrs old. To me it was the single best effort by a footballer ever. Long live Zizou.
Notice the distance the Scotts have taken along the game. That's the sign of a very strong player. Someone hard to anticipate. We all live this situation at least once in our lifetime, making us feel weak. Only few won't witness it. The audience recognized the genius, Zidane was applauded by the whole stadium. LEGEND.
The thing about Zidane is that it's almost impossible to take the ball off him. He is calm, he makes excellent decisions, his passing is incredible, he rarely loses the ball and he entertains the crowd
He lost the ball a lot Don't be ridiculous Did u even see his games at juventus?? His technique is among best ever and thats why it makes him look so pleasing
I was right behind that goal when he ht that volley. Every Scotland fan in the place applauded him and despite the score we all admired watching that France team and had a great party in Paris. We all knew before kick off what was coming but it didn't matter lol. Scotland with a new manager and a very experimental team with some very young and inexperienced players, it was only going to end one way lo. A 5-0 hammering but still one of my favourite football memories. Without a doubt it was the worst time to be a Scotland fan as our team was horrific then but it was a privilege to see such a quality player.
Maybe he is the best player of all time. Starting with our generation, football has changed (and not only football. Tennis and NBA Basketball for example). The game is getting more and more dependent of the athletic facts. And here the brilliance, the genius, the unorthodox, the creative, the beautiful dissapears. This video is an example of the best football you will ever see! And Zidane was the master of it. In the early days maybe you had these famous stars like beckenbauer and pele. But the game wasn't perfected at that time and there was many more to learn (game tactic, soocer practice methods etc). The generation of Zidane has perfected the beauty of this sport and after them everything went down - not really down but we have lost these special characters (and the true masters of the game).
How is it getting better? Zidane's generation was probably the greatest football generation of all time. You had legends in almost every team in every position, nowadays there's barely anyone good enough.
55TheOracle55 not really, a player like the phenomenon Ronaldo would have won the ballon Dor 6 or 7 times in this golden era if he didn’t get injured, zidane lacked consistency like every other A level player in the 90s and 00s that’s why winners of the ballon dor were different every year. Zidane only becomes a front runner contender for the prize when there’s a big international tournament (WC 1998, Euro 2000), tactics nowadays has improved a lot talent alone can’t make you succeed.
Genial mutant of driblingns and pass !!! Carretilha, roulet skills, forghet skills fantastics! !! The 6 fifa ten !!! Zidane mágic elegance incredibles! ! Super! !! My good it is football !!!
What chance do you have when you're playing a team in which Thierry Henry is only the SECOND best player? But at least we produced a bit of our own magic in Paris a few years later, with that screamer from James McFadden!
+johan cruijff well i'm a big fan of Juve and Real Madrid since the early 90s. i use to watch all of their games. when you watch zidane's performance in every match for the whole season you'll figure out that he is a very good player but an overrated one. and i'm not a fan of overrated players. that's all. I love his skills. but skills are not everything in football. don't judge him on edited youtube videos. btw zidane with France is much better than zidane with clubs
+emad azize I've seen Zidane have plenty of mediocre games and even plenty of poor games by his own standards just like any other player, but you need to remember 2 things... 1. Zidane is held to a higher standard and more is expected of him because fans know his ability, they expect magic constantly.... 2. everything runs through Zidane, he is constantly on the ball so if he is having a bad day it stands out just as much as when he's having a good day. Zidane always raised his already high game in his biggest games and for me that is the stuff of true legend.
Even is it was a great game by Zizou, we can honestly say that he didn't create many dangerous passes or skills near the penalty area. Exept his wonderful goal, His skills were too far to be really dangerous.
1:36 il allait dire une demie volée (donc il avait raison) et il arrive à changer pour dire de la daube (une volée indirecte) 1ere fois de ma vie que j'entend ça
My all time greatest Players (don't hate its just my opinion): 1. Lionel Messi 2. Diego Maradona 3. Cristiano Ronaldo 4. Zinedine Zidane 5. Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo is my favorite. I know people don't want to see him in a top 3 list but I think he has earned it through his career. I tried to be as unbiased as possible. I only know Zidane, Ronaldo and Maradona from videos and never actually watched them play.
Pelé, maradona, zidane, r9, messi, cruyff, CR7, ronaldinho, m platini, Mickaël laudrup. My top 10. We can add zico, socratès, G best, R baggio, beckenbauer for top 15. My opinion
Et c est de Zidane Ke cristof duagarry en plein débat plateau a dit Ke Zidane et lui avaient Le mem style de jeu 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 on devait le mettre en prison
+Football Legends Exactly... anyone saying Zidane is nothing special should never be allowed to watch football again in their life because they clearly know nothing about the game. Ps. I personally think Cruyff is the greatest player Europe ever produced but Zidane is definitely up there on his level and is easily a top 10 all time great and like Cruyff was the best player of his own generation. Zizou is probably my favourite player ever (alongside Van Basten) I could watch him play all day, the man was pure magic.
