I am new to bikepcking and have a drop handlebar (salsa fargo). This looks great but concerned the mounting straps will interfere with my hand position on top of bars. Do you agree? I was also looking at Salsa anything cradle. Thanks
I'm not an expert on bikepacking by any means, but the Pronghorn does come with foam spacers, and you can even buy additonal spacers on their site if what they supply isn't enough.. I think you'd certainly be able to set it out far enough for your hands to comfortably use any position on a drop handlebar. I would shoot them an email, they'd have a more definitive answer. Thanks for checking out the video! I never have thought of it, honestly for my daily work commute (13 mile round trip) I love having those panniers attached to the rack. I keep my lunch and snacks in one and my work shoes/clothes in the other. I haven't noticed the weight but my ride is pretty much flat which is nice. We'll see how it goes on my first "long distance" ride this spring. Peace!
Thanks for checking it out! Now that you mention it, the Egress pocket has some really cool features on its own that justify a video. The little shoulder strap is like a 1 inch nylon strap, very slim. The bag is not bulky at all. Great grab and go setup. Honestly been incredibly impressed with the functionality of the Revelate gear. Hope your new year is going well, I'll have that Egress video up probably near the end of the month. Take care!
