I want to wholeheartedly thank you, my 405v suddenly had a pin pattern lock screen which I had never set up and no matter what I did I could not get around it or reset the device, this was the only thing that worked, you're the best!
Thank you a lot, for the people who have been suffering problems. -1. Change de cable. -2. If there is a problem loading de upgrade tool, reinstall the drivers. -3. Look if it is lock or unlocked.
Thanks a lot for this. You presented it properly, briefly, concisely and to the point. I got an error the first time, the second time it went smoothly. I had the original USB cable.
Thanks very much your a life saver, i upgraded to gamma os and didnt like it, wanted to go back to stock and your video helped me 🙂 you earned a new subscriber :-)
All my roma disappeared from Dajisho. I tried working with permissions but the file manager wouldn't let me see them. They were still in the SD. Got that error "you cannot access this folder for your protection"
Hey im doing this to my RG405v, and when I do POWER + VOL DOWN + HOME, the device shuts off by the time the UpgradeDownloader starts and then ultimately fails. Not sure what I can do to get around this
Hmm, you may want to try letting go as soon as the screen goes dark to see if the download still starts but does not fail. You may need to try another USB cable to see if that changes anything.
Would you mind helping. My device wont turn on after finishing flash partition on your tutorial, so I tried to follow the unbricking tool guide the problem is nothing shows up when pressing the 3 buttons . Is there any way to fix this?

Hi. It doesn't seem to be functioning for me. The device keeps loading into Daijisho despite me pressing the button combination Power+Vol down+Home button
I have question regarding the RG405m my touch screen has been disable some how i can't use the touchscreen at all. I reset my device like 5 times even disconnect my battery and nothing.
Hmm, not sure about that one. Normally disconnecting the battery fixes that issue when I have seen it before. You may try a factory reset if you can get to that menu option without the touchscreen.
Henry! Please help, I have just loaded GammaOs onto my rg405m, but I am unable to connect to wifi. I have not been able to download any of the emulators because of this and am stuck with just the gameboys.
Check that you download and installed the correct version? The one for the RG405m. Most commonly that is the cause. Someone else also reported an issue with this and I'm waiting to hear back from the creator to see if there is a known issue or a fix.
Does anyone have any advice on doing this on a Macbook? The unisoc drivers wouldn't install on a VM and I'm totally stuck. Gamma OS isn't working properly with emulators not cover by RetroArch
Hello, I'm trying to uninstall gammaos but when I go to execute the last step in the progress bar I get a message that says "Failed [PS2262] user cancer. I've looked and I can't find any information about it. I would appreciate your help, thank you.
To relock your bootloader, you will need to enable USB debugging if it's not already on and connect you device to your computer by USB. Then issue the following command from a command prompt: adb reboot bootloader Once you are rebooted into fastboot mode, issue the following command: fastboot flashing lock Press the back/home button to proceed. Once complete, issue the following command: fastboot reboot
Hmm, If it's not charging that could indicate a lot of things. First I would try a different charging cable and charger. If that is not working it could be the charging port or the battery. You may want to reach out to Anbernic directly to see if they would replace it or have any other ideas.
Hola, actualicé al FW y no tengo WiFi, pero ahora no puedo volver al FW por defecto, el unbricker no me detecta el RG505 por más que presiono el botón de volumen -, encendido y el home ): alguien me ayuda?
Thanks for your tutorial. My connection was stopped during the flashing process and now I am in a boot loop. My PC does not recognize the handheld anymore and is forever stuck in boot loop. 0,5s Anbernic Logo, vibration, goes off and starts 2s again with the anbernic logo. Any idea how to change the boot files onto the emmc drive to fix the boot files? Because the 405M is not able to boot from sd card so right now I have a beautiful but not usable piece of handheld 😢
I was able to get out of that boot loop before, by disconnecting the battery so it powers off. Then don't turn it back on but follow the steps again and when you get to the part where you need to hold down the 2 buttons to get it to connect, do that from it being powered down. It should then connect to the app and start the flashing process.
Thanks for your tip. I tried all button variations possible and this is the order that actually worked! :) 1.) Start UpgradeDownload-Tool and press Play 2.) Plug in your powered off anbernic handhelt, battery unplugged 3.) Press home/back-Button all the time 4.) Plug in battery pack while still pressing home/back-button 5.) Download should start in the UpgradeDownload tool You maybe have to try this multiple times. I tried this for about 2h yesterday without success. Today I used a different USB cable (not the anbernic stock one) and it worked :) Hopefully this will help someone else too in the future.
I have an RG552 that doesn't turn on. When I press the power button, only the fan starts to spin but it doesn't turn on the console or the LED. I've tried everything but I can't get it to turn on.
I don't have a RG552 so I might be that much help, but from what I have seen some people have had luck using a different charger. You may have to let the device completely run out of power then charge it back up. Sorry I could not be more helpful.
hi, I uninstalled citra on my anbernic to try another version. when I try to launch the roms from the front-end it doesn't load them and gives me a message saying "%1$ not installed" only for 3ds games. Do I have to reset it or can I solve it faster? A thousand thanks

Hello. Does this reset it to factory settings and clear data too? Would it be “brand new out of the box” after unbricking it? I got a second hand RG405m with Gamma OS already on it but I’m having trouble trying to add platforms the previous owner didn’t already have installed so I want to start everything from step 1 myself. It was advertised as brand new but they’ve done a couple of things to it I think and now I’m a little lost, so was just wondering if this would make it “like new” again? Thanks.
Yes, after doing this the only thing that would be different than a brand new one is that the boot loader would be unlocked. But if you are wanting to keep Gamma OS you could just try a factory reset first to see if that clears out everything. Settings Tab > System Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data
Question I got my RG 405M a week ago and meessed around with it watch a video on RU-vid. Got everything to work except cps 1,2,3 if i factory rest it will it be like if it came out of box? So i can get those games ti get working again. I did the retro arch and got all thr arcade cores and it still don't read those games. I don't have a laptop so I'm wondering if factory resetting will do the trick. I don't want to buy another one just to get those games working.
Are you running the Stock OS or Gamma OS? If you are still running the stock OS you should be able to run the Factory Reset and get back to what it was out of the box.
A similar thing happened to me, every time I power on the 405 I get the Anbernic logo plus the message on the top screen. It does take a bit long to boot the G logo and get into gammaos. Will this eventually brick the 405?
I just sold my RG405V and while I got rid of every customization this message still bugs me, is there a way to get rid of it? fastboot flashing lock doesnt work, locking the bootloader in developer options is greyed out. Thanks in advance! @@PhyrexTechs
I tested this myself after reverting back to the Stock OS and I was able to get rid of the message by re-locking the boot loader. The way I did it was following the instructions from the Gamma OS Github which it sounds like you already tried. If that is the case them I'm not sure of another way to get rid of it. I'll post the instructions below from the Github in case you want to just double check that you followed all the steps or for others with the same question. To relock your bootloader after reverting back to Stock OS: 1. Enable USB debugging on your device. 2. Issue the following command from a command prompt on your computer: adb reboot bootloader 3. Once your device reboots into fastboot mode, issue the following command: fastboot flashing lock 4. Press the back/home button to proceed. 5. Once complete, issue the following command: fastboot reboot.
Nah man thanks I opened it again and followed it without questioning anything or doing stuff how I knew it before and that did it, thank you! Happy new year and have a nice day :) @@PhyrexTechs

Thank You for this man. At the end of the installation of GammaOs on my RG 505, the screen showed two letters G for GammaOs and then went black and wouldn't turn on anymore. Can I try to install GammaOs again or does my device not accept Gamma? If you can help me with this I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much!!!
Hey Guy my Problem is have the Gamma os 1.5.1 Install for bether Performance For PS2, GameCube to play Need for Speed but the performance hasn't changed since changes The Gamma operating system has nothing to do with it either All the emulators are gone too If I do a factory reset, the emulators all come back pre-installed And you can press the emulator button to go into emulator mode but not back But you can also swipe from left to right on the display to see the mystery as with the original firmware Which dolphin or athersx2 are currently the best and I can't find dolphin MMJR 3.0 anywhere, thank you
I don't know what I'm doing bad but I have debug usb, I press play and when I put VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER only restart and nothing happens I'm from GAMMA OS and I want to put Stock OS (RG405V)
Some things to check: Make sure you are holding home and not the reset button in the combo button press. Make sure the firmware is fully loaded before hitting the start button on the app and that it shows 405v. You may want to try another USB cable or USB port. Try reinstalling Unisoc drivers and rebooting the computer.
Help me please: I went to this step "Downloading appear on the flashing tool on your pc..." the count on the bar shows up untill '6' and the app crashed, after that 405m shut down, I tried several times result the same don't why, I'm on gamma v1.5. Sorry for my poor English.
I found out why, the reason is that I haven't install db, fastboot for android on this pc before... I install it and add it to env variables problem soloved!! Thanks anyway! Good video! Maybe you could add this step in futrure video for beginers of android. Thanks !@@PhyrexTechs
Amazing video! I tried using Gamma OS 1.5.1 but I had an issue that drains the battery in 2 hours with no usage…. So I think it might be a version bug… can anyone tell me if you have this problem in older Gamma OS versions? Should I try installing GOS 1.3.3? Or maybe wait until they fix 1.5.X? Maybe stay on StuckOS for a safe console performance?
After installing any version of Gamma the battery reading will be out of sync. What you will want to do is fully charge the device and then use it or let it run until the battery is fully drained. After 1 or 2 times of doing that it should be fairly synced up.
I accidentally deleted chrome now i cant download anything. Can i factory reset it and get the apps and stuff i had when it came out the box. It came with google playstore and chrome. Its a rg 505.
If you are talking about the ones for the RG405m then make sure you are extracting all of them at the same time. Also might want to try another program to unzip them.
one question, if I go back to stock OS will I already have all the emulators and folders set correctly as when I took it out of the box or will I have to install each emulator manually
You should be able to follow these steps for the 505 also. You just need to make sure to use the 505 unbricker link. Let me know if you run into any issues.
Well I can't seem to activate the download in the 505 to laptop of mine I did everything right but it keeps going back to the black screen I meant the logo of it
I was successful in reverting back to the original. But after reinstalling Gamma Os and erasing user data like i followed on the other video. Turn on the rg405v it keeps turning on and off and I have to unbrick the device and do it all again. I tried repeating the process 3 times now and I can’t get gamma os to work any more. It keeps boot cycling 😭
@@PhyrexTechs It's fine now, it took me 7 restorations and reinstallations of Gammaos to start working again with no issues. Thank you for your videos. It helped me a lot
Oof, yeah not sure about that. You could always check with Gamma on the Github or in the Retro Handhelds discord 505 channel to see if he has any other ideas.
Yes thanks, but the fact I can't plug a card means something is broken inside. I've ordrered some slots to replace it but before I'll follow your tracks 👍
@@PhyrexTechs ok I’m going to keep trying because it gets stuck at boot up screen and won’t factory reset it won’t even connect to my labtop unfortunately
Thank you Henry I just going to use the stock os on my 405 device installing gamma os on here was a pain and it would not let me download any apps from the google play store plus the screen was rotated so I don’t know how that happened. I just went back to my stock os and I will enjoy playing games on the stock os. How do I get rid of flag is unlock message when booting up or turning on the device
Just a heads up, normally it's recommended to relock the bootloader right after flashing back to stock. I have seen it cause issues for people when relocking as it might get stuck in a boot loop and you would have to flash the Stock OS again. If you still want to give it a try. The instructions below will lock the bootloader and remove that flag. To relock your bootloader, you will need to enable USB debugging, and issue the following command from a command prompt: adb reboot bootloader. Once you are rebooted into fastboot mode, issue the following command: fastboot flashing lock. Press the back/home button to proceed. Once complete, issue the following command: fastboot reboot.
Yeah that happened to me once. The only way I could get out of the loop was to take the back off and disconnect the battery connect the USB then reconnect the battery and not power it on until you have to hold the buttons at 2:58.
I looked up some info on it and it seems it might be an issue with the headphone jack itself. You may want to reach out to Anbernic directly to see if they have found any solutions or may replace it for you.
Sorry One question, my console just turned off and didn't turn on again, it's been like this for months, would this process work for you? And how can I make the computer detect it, that is, what combination of buttons to do?
Nada está completamente muerta solo al conectarla al PC y presionar el botón de encender hace el sonido la PC como cuando conectas cualquier USB pero no se abre ninguna carpeta ni nada
@@PhyrexTechs the reason I wanted to revert back is because I wanted to upgrade to 1.5.1 but for some reason I can’t get fastboot to recognize the device.
Yeah the only thing that would be different is the bootloader would still be unlocked and you would get that text on startup showing you that. If you need to lock the bootloader after reverting back to Stock OS: 1.
Yeah, just to double check, I just let it run for about 30min with N64 fast-forwarding. Checked for any airflow coming out and there was none. It got a little warm but not hot. I don't think it would be an issue unless you are in a hot area and playing Gamecube or PS2 games.
help my anbernic RG505 brickes and I tried this method, but always failed at step _REPARTITION_ . it says Failed: [UB1132] Operation failed. can Anyone help?
Don't think I have seen that one before. -Make sure you have the 505 version -You can try another USB cable and port. -You can try to reinstall the unisoc drivers/ADB drivers then reboot. -Try another computer. If none of that works you can make a issue on TheGammaSqueeze Github to see if he has any ideas.
