Hi Will, Thank you for your review and your honest words, we continue working to improve in every way. Our pieces are all cut with laser but there was a run that came out with the sharpest edges, for a few weeks we have worked the edges of the pedals with various sandpaper and rollers. Also shortly we will have a product specially designed for people who use the pedals barefoot or with socks. Stay tuned. In addition to facilitating the assembly, we are including some washers like the ones you indicate that you have used to mount the flat base on your chassis. The community is very important to us and thanks to your words and comments we continue to improve. We are looking forward to you trying the load cell version. Back to work

I got mine this week, I was convinced by this review. Thanks Will. Sharing my feedback as well. The edges are sharp yeah, I got scraped when unscrewing the throttle bolts to adjust. The brake unit I got has a little play - I've adjusted input in software to compensate but thought mentioning here. I've only used the pedals a couple of times and I'm very happy with it overall. I've noticed the gain on consistency and pedal control right off the bat, which translated to consistent fast lap times. Only those 2 minor issues above.

Great pedals, I have non hydravlic type. Sadly I was a bit dissapointed with them because 2 rubber rings on brake pedals BROKE mid race - I prefer stiffer setting. Great review thanks Will! I always debated wether I should go to hydraulics or not. I am looking to get that hydraulic feel I get in road cars on the brake pedal. Does anyone know if simracing hydraulic pedals properly replicate that feel or not that much?
3 года назад
Nice review ! They really look awesome for the price ! I have two question though : - did you try the pedal set on a formula style driving ? With short course and high pressure combinaison. If yes, how did it feel ? - at 46:49, on the slave cylinder closeup, it looks like there is a bit of black/green fluid at the connector, is this a visual effect or is there any fluid leak ? I heard you said you had not any leak, but from that perspective it looks so. Thanks again for your detailed review, you really make quality content, keep it up !
@boostedmedia
@boostedmedia 3 года назад
Yeah they feel good for formula driving. Can stiffen them up a bit if you prefer by increasing preload. No leaks. What you see is a bit of grease which seems to have been applied as part of the assembly process. It’s not the hydraulic fluid.

I had some deadzone with these brake pedal. But you can adjust that easy. The support is excelent and they sent me a video how I can adjust the pedals that I have no more deadzone. You only have to loosen the nut on the pedal arm and then rotate the rod which is connected to the hydraulic (against clockwize I think). In this way you adjust the preload of the hydraulic. Now, I have no more deadzone like Will described.

DI View isn't as scary as I initally thought. A couple of questions... Are the pedals recognised on Forza games on PC? Do they ship to the US? (I know. A bone headed question) Would inverting these cause any issues? It looks like it can be easily done. How stiff can I make the brake pedal for the loadcell version? Thank You Boosted Media for this review. I am leaning heavily towards these. If they work with Forza on PC, then these will replace my CSL-ELITE V1s.

Hi - I like the review and it gives a good overall impression, but I would like to know about the pressure which must be set on the brake pedal; is it smoother than a LC brake pedal? I have always been unsatisfied with the LC brake pedals and was looking for a brake pedal which is close to a real car brake or a balance beam brake which could be found in most (older) race cars or even in rallye cars ... any information on this would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Nice review Will. You compare them a lot with your Simtag, and you talk a lot about them being very smooth, but do you say at the same time that Simtag is not smooth? Can you elaborate on that, the smoothness feel, BJ vs Simtag?
@boostedmedia
@boostedmedia 3 года назад
The BJ brake is smoother than the Simtag at east in my experience. With the Simtag you get a slight underpinning texture which is present on most hydraulic pedals I’ve tested. Similar to a road car, the BJs feel more similar to HE Ultimates than any of the other hydraulic pedals I’ve tested. So it’s pretty much a personal preference thing.

How would you compare these to HE Sprints. I'm looking at these but wanting to know if the upgrade from sprints is worth the cash.

Quite similar overall. Better build quality in the ultimates. Honestly I think you’d be happy with either.

I have the bj pedals standard version which cost me 500 euro, the only confusing thing to me is, the brake are just like a brick its extremely hard, thats my only complaint, is there a way to make the brake less hard ? I suspect that the rubbers under the brake are just too hard, is it swappable to something softer maybi ?
@Gino_567

i had this same issue and was told the rubbers would soften up. And they did, alot! just keep using them.

Is this brake really stif ? I am a big guy and with my fanatec v3 at 100%brakeforce i max it out really easy in my f1 style seat. And i'm looking for a pedal set with the strongest brake force pedal there is .. the Heusinkvelds ultimate are 120kg real force but the price is a little bit high . Looking for a good set under a 1000euro's . This set looks promissing . But i wonna know if you can tell me if this brake pedal his max force detection is high enough ?

It’s not 100% square but it straightens as the pedal is pressed. Not ideal but we’ll see how it stands up to long term testing.

The fluid isn't getting hot. I don't think you will get better results with the braided lines. It's a different story with road/track cars.
@boostedmedia
@boostedmedia 3 года назад
Incorrect. Braided lines stop ballooning which creates a spongy pedal feel regardless of fluid temperature. It’s pressure related.
@Donvatain
@Donvatain 3 года назад
@@boostedmedia Thats not my point. I think the line is to short to feel a real difference and there are no other circumstances for a real spongy pedal. Also i didnt say that braided lines won't stop ballooning. They will for sure.

Im doubting between these loadcell version of bj simracing and those of DCsimracing, both have the same price and look very alike, still trying to figuring out the difference between the two sets, your review on these do help get a pov on the build part and expected quality from bj simracing.

im not completely impressed by these. i spend my time drifting grass roots cars, and pedals in those cars arent stiff like a racecar. the brake pedal im looking for would have about 4-6 inches of travel, and i want to feel the hydraulic working through it all. the clutch's bite point would be broader, and spongy. i want to slip the clutch like i would in a real car, not having to skirt the tires at all when im leaving my pit area. anyone who cant slip the clutch in the pits IRL would most likely not be allowed back at the track.
@Brukev0

That Slave cylinder from Wilwood ... It's only a matter of time before it starts to leak. It only has a small rubber seal on the piston ... It is made for a clutch where the pressures are many times lower.
@Theodore96Fataliev

Very nice pedal set, although I personally would not buy the load cell version as IMO the bracket that connects the load cell to the push rod is bend and prone to work hardening. ZerGut on grabcad has released DIY plans that have a way better design for the load cell placement. I drive those pedals daily. Very nice to see some more affordable pedals.

That finish looks really lazy, just let someone file down the edges, that is 15min of work on each padal set max and i can't imagine this being a high volume product. These high priced pedal sets all look so similar, i feel like they copy/influence each other a lot. Most of the parts they use are commodity parts as well. So with the different pedal sets so close in function to each other, i'm suprised they put no effort into their software gui, it looks just really bad and unintuitive. For 900€ i would expect more effort into this, especially as a selling point, ease of use is nothing to forget about. I can't argue their performance, have not tried them.
@jacobcisco7059
@jacobcisco7059 3 года назад
Just my opinion....the price should be readjusted in the future..again just my silly opinion! Maybe around a grand..again idk what im talking about other than the 10 pedals i have tried from experience..and then linking that to his overall experience of these pedals.
@macht4turbo
@macht4turbo 3 года назад
@@jacobcisco7059 I have a hard time understanding the tone of you message tbh. In EU money, the pedal set is about a grand, do you mean australian dollar? The clutchless set is 780€, which is an easier price to swallow. The loadcell version without the clutch is 380€, which is certainly a good price. All of the models have the same build quality/finish however, so my assessment stands, you get the function of an expensive pedal set for the fit and finish of a cheaper pedal set. Everyone has different priorities.
@Gino_567
@Gino_567 3 года назад
its not their software, its using software made by the company that supplies the load cell - which is Leo Bodnar. And there’s nothing wrong with it. Does exactly whats it supposed to do. literally takes 5-10 mins to calibrate and then you forget about it unless you want to tweak further. So why would they spend a ton of man hours and money on creating a gui that isn’t even needed? Dont agree with your point on the design either.. They’re primary purpose is to function properly for the price. if thats why they all look similar - because the design works, then whats wrong with that?
@jacobcisco7059

Oh wow soo that is a serious mistake on my part as i thought they were priced at around 1,700 dollars! To much work not enough sleep smh..i apologize for my meaningless message
@macht4turbo
@macht4turbo 3 года назад
@@Gino_567 My point is that it is the same product over and over again with minimal differences, the market is saturated. These willwood brake cylinders are cheap as chips btw, 60€ retail. A simple gui for so few functions does not take a ton of man hours. There is nothing that differentiates this product from other pedal sets, i just think it is lazy design. Even Will mentions that he wasn't excited to review the product.

hmmm... got my bj hydraulic pedals 2 days ago, coming from thrustmaster pedals. i must say, i am struggeling massively. i have great difficulties hitting that threshold point. i guess its me, but iam also not feeling this "threshold" point clearly when pressing the break. i dont know, im kind of disappointed... i also dont see a possibility to improve something by adjusting the pedal. only thing i can do is tighten the preload spring, but how could this help. the pedals came with 3 additional black "dampers". dont know what they are good for, i guess these are just replacement parts...
