My husband told me about the mac and cheese ice cream yesterday and I thought that it HAD to be a joke because just WHY??? Who hates their taste buds that much?

Magnolia (a Philippines brand) makes cheese ice cream. It has chunks of cheese in it. It’s one of the principle scoops of ice cream found in a halo-halo. It works, but most folks wouldn’t buy a carton of it.

Those were commercials for Pace Picante. The next line after "New York City??!!" Was "Get a rope." Indicating they intended to hang the criminal trying to pass off Yankee hot sauce in the deep south. Those commercials were gold.

I love matcha as well. I bought the wedding cake one to try it out and I like the taste. I guess it just has to do with being accustomed to different tastes.
Weird stuff. Van Leeuwen is a traditional Dutch name but no ice cream company here in the Netherlands would even dare to take these flavours to the store 😅

That Mac & Cheese ice cream looked so nasty that it almost made me want to swear off ACTUAL Mac & Cheese. Think I’ll skip that one, but thanks for being brave for us, Matt!
They also make a Grey Poupon ice cream. Yes, the mustard. I bought it for my brother. It wasn’t as bad as I expected, but it wasn’t good either. Started off mild, ended up strong mustard.

I'm gonna need you to try Dolly Parton's ice cream & maybe a few more from the same makers of it. They have some really interesting sounding flavors too... even strawberry pretzel salad.
I think that one is called strawberry pretzel pie. Sounds like a freezer pie with a crushed pretzel crust I’d find at a church potluck and would have loved as a kid.

I have seen them both they do exist there. I sent my friend a pic of the mac and cheese and pizza ice cream captioned as the worst flavors ever. The only thing missing was the pickles for two dill ice cream on clearance on the other side of the freezers
Ok it turns out my Walmart does have all of these flavors including the Little Debbie's. They've just been sold out for a long time, I assume due to covid shortages, but now they're all in stock again. Matt, sorry I ever doubted you. 🤣
It's from hipsterville. I have had their cashewmilk based ice cream in the store and it has wayyyy to much salt. They have some nice regular milk flavors in store, but expensive as all get out. Usually find tourists, teens and crunchy granola vegan hipster moms there....not really affordable snack on a weekly basis. And it's a couple blocks down the street from Trader Joe's which should tell u everything u need to know
I recently discovered those ice creams where I live. I bought some of the not as weird flavors like blueberry shortcake and planet earth (it's just called planet earth because of the colors, it has flavors like matcha, almond, and spirulina), and they were pretty good. Hopefully, I'll be brave enough to try flavors like pizza someday.
My all-time favorite ice cream is Hagan Das Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle. It's hard for me to find, but when I do I will buy up all the containers they have.
I think they just throw the weird flavours in there for a gimmick but the cherry one sounds heavenly 👀 Fun fact (according to a documentary I watched ages ago) the victorians did pig foot ice cream and other savoury ice cream on the regular so it's not THAT unusual but like... if its not gonna make a good smoothie/cold soup, why would you turn it into ice cream???
Lol for exotic ice cream I will stick with Bluebell's king cake with those Mardi Gras colors. But I prefer their homemade vanilla sans the purple, gold and green sprinkles.
I'm from NY and we have Van Leeuwen ice cream here in our markets. I have never seen or had their special flavors but The standard flavors are really great! However very expensive!
Friendly’s once had a glorious flavor, only in half gallon, called blueberries and cream or blueberry patch…something like that Why don’t they make blueberry ice cream!? Its not like blueberries are more expensive than blackberry or strawberry yet finding blueberry ice cream is so hard! And its SO GOOD. I need to try that one thanks, Matt!
Green tea ice cream has been around for years and years. Long before "matcha" anything. Growing up and going to Japanese restaurants it was always available. And it was and still is a BIG NO!!!
It's not for everyone, and some applications are not well done. Matcha Mochi is a confusing experience, but could be worth it to some. I've had some Kit Kats though that it was still grainy there was so much un-absorbed powder it tasted like I had eaten coffee grounds.
Different strokes for different folks, and all....but, if I don't want tea powder in my ice cream. It's flavor is too delicate against the cream; seems out of balance. I've tried a few and am always left feeling unimpressed.
I've been to Gilroy, CA, home of the garlic festival, and tried the garlic ice cream. It was surprisingly not terrible as well. Not good, but not terrible.
If you really really hate your tastebuds, they made a grey coupon flavor. The other weird flavors sold, but we can't even get rid of the mustard ice cream at my store.

There is a mustard one, you didn't miss much lol. I liked the pizza one too, basically tasted like cheesecake ice cream. Used the Mac n cheese for a matcha bubble tea float. Actually enjoyed it that way, bit much otherwise.
