Crazy, I was just watching reviews on this today ( the Old version) and everyone complained of the fragrance and asked for a fragrance free. And here it is.
This contains menthyl lactate which might be where the fresh smell you mention comes from - it is used as a fragrance and flavoring agent and can feel cooling like menthol but less intensely. The company who supplies it claims it’s not irritating like menthol but my personal experience says otherwise. Fragrance-sensitive people proceed with caution.
hey :) i would be intrested in hearing you updated thoughts on avene sunscreens. It seems at this point they have reformulated their sunscreens to exclude tinosorb m in favor of their patented triasorb. I was thinking this time you could try the Avene Fluid SPF 50+ or another sunscreen they have that is made for oily skintypes.
I liked the original hydro boost sunscreen because it didn’t break me out like so many sunscreens i’ve tried but i couldn’t handle the brutal eye stinging so i stopped using it 😭 Maybe this version won’t sting mine! I also noticed it’s not blue anymore which I thought was interesting

It’s definitely not the same sunscreen by any means. It’s exists in the same product line, though. Sisters, not twins
I just bought this hydro boost sunscreen (original) on a whim and a desperate need for some sunscreen and I too am a victim of eye burning🥲😭every time I use it it feels greasy on me and it doesn’t take long for the burning effect to kick in, I usually wipe it off my eyes right away with a paper towel and leave the rest just for the insurance but I hate it🤮I just saw those haru haru sunscreens that are new and if u can, please review them🥹🙏there’s a chemical version and a 100% mineral version and I’m debating which to get. I use the haru haru toner and it’s been my holy grail for years! So I’m excited to see if these SPF’s are really worth it🥰
I almost just tried this one. I got the Neutrogena invisible daily serum sunscreen instead. I can't say I like the "serum" marketing, it's just a lotion that is a bit shiny for a bit, is invisible though, weightless for me, and minimal burning for someone who most chemical sunscreens always burn. Overall, I like it for a convenient find. I wish I knew how much UVA protection American chemical sunscreens offer, like a Korean conversion example. ++ or +++ at best? I'll try this product soon.
interesting! will have to look into this. Have you tried the Garnier Clearly Brighter moisturizer SPF? I always see it under lock and key at drugstores and seems very popular. It's a very nice texture.
Hi Ramon, thank you so much for this video, I'm super interested to try this sunscreen. Do you think there are certain types of sunscreen filters that should not be layered? I wear sunscreen every day and makeup with SPF. Curious to know if you can make a video on the topic.
I almost bought the old version because its cheaper but they were out so I got this one instead and I couldn't be happier. I was so afraid of it feeling greasy but it went on nice nicely and it didnt sting.
I’ve used so many of your SPF recommendations and they have been great however a lot of them sting my face post shaving, can you recommend an SPF50 that is brown skin friendly no white cast and looks good under makeup and doesn’t sting?
Wild to me that this has such a shiny finish, looking at the ingredients it should be at least a little bit matte XD in the top of the list are denatured alcohol, silica, caprylyl methicone, aluminium starch and dimethicone >.
Haha so glad im not alone. Currently working theough my second 5-hour eye-burn session in 3 days . Washing does not help. Cant even open my eye Wtf Neutrogena hydroboost gel sunscreen
That’s my fave American sunscreen that is SPF 50. Truly lightweight and the only one I feel comfortable layering and reapplying. I have very oily skin. Scent is like a sweet candy, which I don’t mind.
I tried this. I thought I would really like it. Bitch.....THE DOOR. It made me soooooooo greasy. I couldn't reapply it through the day because it made me so oily. I have dry, sensitive, and breakout prone skin. Im sticking to the Korean spf.
I tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel lotion sunscreen SPF50 for the first time yesterday (this is the water resistant 80 mins product that is in the tube and is Oxybenzone free). Since I was going to be outdoors in hot, humid weather, I did not wear any foundation over my sunscreen. The product felt nice on my skin but when it crept into my eyes, it burned really bad! I went through Ramon’s videos and he mentioned the same thing when he tried the product about 3 years ago… So even though the new formula doesn’t have Oxybenzone in it, something is still in there that can burn one’s eyes…. I plan on trying the Hydro Boost moisturizer with SPF next.
I wanted this one to work for me. I was excited to have a Sunscreen without white cast and it does that but it is soooo shiny on me. I tried applying every 2 hours and it was like baby oil by the end of the day🥲
