i want to correct you on 2 things you got wrong. you say that fire temple and shadow temple were 1.8 levels even tho they straight up have wave parts (1.9 mechanic!!!!!)

Perfect timing. I beat Desert Temple yesterday and now I get this in my recommended. The first one I beat was Temple of Time and my god that level is fucking amazing. My favorite hands down even though it isn't really official. I beat Fire, Lava and Water Temple all in the same day, Lava taking me the most attempts, 584 and Fire Temple taking me the least, 223 (Water Temple took me 375 iirc). I fluked the hell out of Forest Temple, from 49%. Shadow Temple in like 20 minutes a week or two ago, (650 attempts or so) and desert yesterday. (1450) For me, at least, the hardest was Desert Temple by a mile and easiest I can't t really tell. The entire series in general plays well and is pretty fun. I can't really imagine going for any of these as hardests though. All but Forest are pretty boring visually and the gameplay is very 1.8-esque. Desert is probably the worst in my opinion. It just oozes 2.0. XlectricVenom and The Bil didn't really know what to do with the level from what I've felt beating it. It's just Forest Temple but it's piss colored. It's definitely not a bad level for 2.0. But that's the entire thing. It's 2.0 and man some stuff in it is just bad. The decoration is pretty bad. The colors are just ugly and the small brick block is just ugly with the piss yellow they chose is just not good looking. Had they used the big brick block this would've been fixed. The song though is amazing and the theming is good. Fire Water and Shadow are definitely some levels. I personally think some of the gameplay in Shadow Temple is weird but it's definitely not a bad level at all. Lava is pretty cool. It was the second hardest for me of the series but mostly just because I fluked the shit out of Forest. The deco is great but a bit repetitive. Forest is by far the best one. I don't have much to say on it. I definitely disagree with desert temple being a ton easier than Forest. Then again, I fluked Forest from 49% soooo. Yeah this series is just really good. There was a reason as to why I beat all of them since they're all good levels. I think Desert is the worst but it's just because of the odd gameplay sometime and the deco being just not that good. Forest is the best, the other 4 are all good levels but they were a bit too early on to really nail the theming. (less so for lava but eh) Temple of Time, although unofficial, will forever be my favorite and the best in my eyes.

Dammit I went for Fire Temple as my second hard demon… Yeah pretty accurate honestly, that ship part and ufo is pretty damn hard for it’s difficulty not to mention I got pretty unlucky with it, literally dying to the second last jump from being startled by something (I don’t remember what) however ignoring those it’s pretty cool. The beginning gameplay can sometimes be annoying, but is decently fun, and everything after the evil ship part (excluding the ufo it’s literally click and pray) is pretty fun, and has some good deco. Pretty fun if you don’t mind going insane from two stupid choke points

this is completely irrelevant to the video and a completely minor point but i noticed you used footage of the 3ds version of the game. i havent played that version, i hear it improves some things, but the thing that immediately stood out to me in this video is the entrance to the fire temple, because its just a black void. in the original game on the n64 you can actually see the first room of the fire temple from the outside and i think thats a lot cooler

I love all of these levels. They are all masterpieces in their own way. The only one that I don’t consider a masterpiece is water temple, but still. It’s great in its own way. Rest in peace michi, You will be missed. 🟧 /\ /\ /\

It feels good to mention that lava temple recently became the first medium demon of the previously all hard-demon series. Its crazy :/

I recently completed the temple series, and I mostly agree with your comments about theming. However, Shadow and Desert were both extremely unfun to play imo. Shadow had that blind triple followed by a mini ship straight fly (which felt harder than regular straight fly), which was a massive choke point and I would just die to it for the better part of an hour. It really felt like I was not getting better every attempt (maybe that could be attributed to me playing on mobile). Desert overuses of move triggers and its first 30% feels like it leans into the success of Forest Temple a bit too much, via the structuring (blocks + zigzags) and even the bricks. It is also a departure from a subtle overarching theme of the original temple levels: the dark gray background. Previous Michi temples would subtly weave gameplay into the theming. For example, Water Temple primarily uses blue orbs and pads. However, Desert Temple resorts to recoloring orbs and portals to obscure the gameplay and force the theme. Overall I feel conflicted since the level feels unoriginal while not fitting with the temple style at all; to be fair Michi didn’t even make Desert Temple. Keep in mind I’m completely unfamiliar with Zelda, so thanks for bringing into my attention about the “lens of truth” gimmick of Shadow Temple, etc.

Currently i beat every one of these temples except shadow temple (with some minor progress in it) and i actually beat water temple as my first hard demon as a jump from deadlocked and fire temple as my second hard demon after water temple. I somehow fluked water temple from 50%, but i got really unlucky with fire temple. I did lava temple later and it felt free compared to water and fire temple. I did forest temple as a new hardest like 1-2 months in just 5 days and did desert temple around 2-3 weeks back and it felt free compared to forest. Overall, fire temple is the worst, water temple is mid and forest, desert and lava are amazing with forest being the best imo. These lvls are rly nostalgic and pretty fun for me (except fire temple which i hate with a burning passion). Realistically I would prob hate water temple more than fire if i didnt fluke it, but since i did fluke it, i hate fire temple more.

Uhhhhhhhh, went for Forest Temple as my second Hard Demon after Nine Circles. Never played any of the others BUT ITS A HARDER HARD DEMON???? It tortured me lol, everything makes so much more sense now lol

Funnily enough, the prize for beating the temple gauntlet is a triforce wave. Calling it, the temple gauntlet will consists of all the temple levels

I had a really rough time with Lava Temple. Its really first half heavy; I only got to the drop once before I beat it.

6:34 THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING! When I was beating Fire Temple (on mobile) I could do every single part consistently EXCEPT that ship. That ship swoop is stupidly difficult and the straight flly following right after is such a finger up my ass. Also idk if it's just me but I found the ufo to be pretty consistent and really not too difficult.

summary of temple series: every level except Desert Temple is really fun and Desert Temple is one of the worst levels in the game but ironically enough the only one that michi didn't even build lol

I am doing forest temple and I have to say that the only hard parts are the first ufo and the first ship. Still it is meant to be a difficult hard demon so yeah. Hope I beat it soon.

Ive only beaten forest temple and i do not plan to beat any other temple levels after what forest temple did to me

Shadow temple and fire temple are made in 1.9, and they look like 1.7-1.8 levels. My problem the Temple series is that the first 3 levels look pretty basic and bad, even for the time. Lucky all the other levels in the series are really good. Also I'm the only one to think that Michigun's parts in yata and AA look really bad

I'm going for lava temple and gameplay wise it's really frustrating, idk if it's my skill issue or not but yeah.

I beat forest temple by jumping over the raised spikes at the end which happened to be a 3-4 frame timing on 299.944 fps which I was playing at and I was literally having a seizure while cursing Michigun under my breath. It took me 3 ending attempts to beat it. After I beat it I talked to some of my friends about it a few months later and I was told I did it wrong 💀.
