I have used comments here to show my nephew how lucky he is to have his i7-3770, 16GB@1600MHz & RX480Nitro+ PC even though he is only 14, He bought everything except the RX480 which I'm lending him until he can afford a good GPU, His friends keep telling him to buy a GTX1650 (what is the 🤬 point of buying a worse GPU), I am trying to get him to focus on saving for a RTX2070, RX5700XT or RTX2070Super & 144Hz monitor, then he can save for a R5 3600, M/B & DDR4 RAM
Your channel is very nostalgic for me. I remember being in the computer lab in school almost 4 years ago now and I stumbled on the old video on that $50 gaming laptop you bought from Ebay and I was hooked. Thank you for getting me into computers.
Your profie photo looks so similar to mine in color grading, i thought to myself "when did i say this comment, and this is a new video... What the hell?"
Videos like this remind me to put my ego down a bit and remember how lucky I am to have a decent PC and setup... Stay safe out there people and I hope y'all are going to be able to upgrade your GT-730's and DDR3 memories soon. I've been a low spec gamer for a while so i can feel you.
man I love your videos. I've got a question, i'm in high school and I'm soon starting my job so can you recommend me some sort of build for 300$? i have GPU and SSD (RX 550 4g pulse OC AND ADATA SP550 128GB) looking for cpu, mobo, ram, case (Currently i made a pcpartpicker list of Atlon 3000g 16gb ddr4 ram Deepcool 500W PSU and b450 board so i can OC the athlon) do you think i can get better deal? also i really wanna go with the AM4 Ryzen socket because of upgradability.
If you're not gonna do some gaming or maybe just some light gaming then you can't go wrong with that one. You can just upgrade to maybe a ryzen 5 in the future once you got some savings
get the ryzen 3 1200, it's nearly the same price and you already have a gpu. 16gb is kinda overkill for a system like this, 8gb will be enough most of the time
Like for am4 motherboard go for an a320 for cheapest but if you want more support/overclockability then definitely go for any b450. I would recommend 8 gigs ram for gaming at 2400MT/s at minimum - that's what I have. In the future for CPU I would go with a r5 2600 or even 3600 but you would then have to upgrade the graphics card to benefit.
If you can try to see if there's a r5 1600 AF around you and you don't really need to oc for a low budget with $300 to spare I'd rather you spend less money on the motherboard maybe a more on the psu and then try to get save some money for a better gpu, you don't have to buy it right away but you can always wait until newer released ones come out so you can squish to a rx 5500xt or perhaps a 1650 super
Just brought/built not to long ago a i5-9400f, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD & 1TB HDD, GTX 1660 Super for my second PC due to this channel, keep it up lad love the reviews & videos. All for streaming purposes whenever I have time to do so.
nice video, i remember when i first found this channel i wasn't too sure about it now is become my favourite pc channel and i watch all the videos as soon as they appear lol
Wow, a Pentium 4 running CS 1.6 eh? Not bad :) As always great roundup, mine is obviously in the backlog somewhere as I submitted it about 3 months ago!
Couple of quick tips... the ROG crosshair IV has beta BIOS support for Bulldozer (FXn1xx) if the lack of the POPCNT instruction becomes a problem (Apex Legends). Also, for a 3 stick 2x4 + 1x8, make sure the two 4's end up on one channel and the single 8 in the other
I reall like watching your videos, you appreciate us budget pc people a lot more than the people on LTT, SETUP WARS AND RTP. There its Ryzen 9 and rtx 2080s by the boatload and then magically that isn't fancy enough. When i scratch my budget together i will show of my first rig for you too, later in the year.
I have a question and i need some seriois help. I have an asus tuf fx505 i5 8300h , gtx 1060 6gb and 8gb of ram and im getting terrible fps in every game and a lot of fps drops on cod warzone amd fortnite. I watched a video saying that adding 8 more gb of ram would help a lot because the laptop is going to work on dual channel. Is 8more gb of ram helpful or should i get an m.2 ssd ? Because the laptop works with terrible 7200rpm hdd
@ 11:40 -ish..... for older games, that would be a system that is just fine. its not by any means a GOOD system, but for early 2000's and MAYBE up to 2010 games should be okay, with you mess with some settings. but i would absolutely use that system as an emulation pc for NES, SNES and a few others....matter of fact, i have an old office pc i do just that with and it does that pretty well.
Do you have a shop for merch or anything ? Would also be a good idea to make up some wallpapers etc. You've got a cool looking logo and I thought i spotted it as someones wallpaper at 7:30 in the video but it's just your channel. Would look great.
7:45 phenom II x4 965 is a clear bottleneck for a rx 470. My old phenom II x4 955 was a bottleneck even for a r7 370 (which has little more than half of the power of the rx 470). 2nd or 3rd gen i5 would be a good pairing. I am currently using rx 570 with a i5 6402p but i also used it with a i5 3570 and it was pretty good too.
The thumbnail with the doctored monitor shrine of RGinHD is essentially that one student in the teacher's classroom who brought gifts for the teacher. You don't get special treatment to get the best score! You get the same grade like the rest of us!
Manufacturers recommended power supply specifications for GPU's are always massively overkill. I ran DUAL R9 280's in crossfire with an I7 960 overclocked to 3.6ghz, 8gb ram, ssd, hdd and it ran full bore pulling 330watts. I measured this with a Watt meter clamped to the power cable. The manufacturer recommended 550 watts per card. I had a 500 watt 80+ gold psu and it ran a crossfire set up with ease.
Almost only person in the world who would not diss that Pentium 4 setup which is quite wholesome to me maybe because i only used to hear Pentium 4 as insult when my old pc was running slow xD
My rig is lacking in so many areas. One of my mobo's sys fan connectors is broken and always is at 100%. My CPU is a massive bottleneck to my gpu (that I got accidentally got because my r9 280x broke and the custom pc builder site said they would let me buy a 1070 minus the cost of the r9 280x originally. 1070 broke as well in the same way, same procedure and got a 1070ti. I think both broke because of a bad mobo, which I found an identical model of on ebay and is what I'm using. PC also became much, much faster and responsive after I did this.) My case is a cheapo "gaming" case. I think it's a corsair carbide series 1 or 3. The legs on the bottom all snapped off and I have to use an old metal cosmetics box to let the PSU get airflow in from the bottom. The side panels are worn out and bent and I can't put them back on without the bottom, top, right or left side becoming loose and sticking out. Front usb ports are a hit or miss with data transfer of any kind. My HDDs all make a crap ton of noise, however I migrated to a 500gb SSD recently thankfully. My RAM is still DDR3 which I can definitely see as being a bottleneck for general desktop use. The only part I have little issues with is the ASUS 1070ti. Has decent OC and temps but sags a bit because its 2.5 slots. Also have MSI DS502 headphones. Love these. Best mic I've ever owned on these and are very comfortable for long use. Fixed driver issues with them recently. Have G502 mouse, wish I could clean it without opening it somehow. Zalman keyboard that I got from the PC builder with a zalman mouse that I keep as a backup and use for my laptop. Got them both for £15, in 2015 but in 2018 it broke so I got a replacement for the keyboard for literally £5 on amazon. The best part about my system, tied with the GPU are my screens. Used to be two identical 1440p AOC IPS monitors, but one broke and they sent me a very similar model, but only 4k as a replacement. Only issue is the scaling issues when going between different resolutions on windows. Connected cheapo £8 amazon speakers to both for playing consoles. Anyways, for now it's fine but I really need to save up some money for new ryzen CPU, mobo, ram, possible a new PSU (is 650w modular gold rated rn), possibly a new cooler (is h80iv2 rn), and definitely a new keyboard. Would love a bigger SSD if the budget allows it, along with an identically sized HDD for each storage device in my PC so I can use my hard drive cloner for regular (monthly?) backups.
Glad you mentioned SR3 Remastered... Random Freezing, Stuttering & The Occasional Crash To Desktop 😑🙄. Yet other times it'll run without any problems. I've got a reasonable Rig (I5 - 2.4ghz, Gtx 960 - 2gb etc) Even PS4 & XBOX1 players are reporting problems. 🙃
2:55 I actually used the same looking case as this guy (ThinkCentre A70) that came in with Pentium E, G41 Lenovo mobo, horrible 1GB DDR3 mem, etc. . Used it to house my old rig (Phenom II + R7 360 + 8GB DDR2) and probably made it a sleeper PC in the future, and already slapped 120mm fans on the front and 92mm fan on the rear. The placement of fans in the front are tricky tho, because there's no mounting/screw holes for 120mm fans. . But with cable ties, everything's possible lmao
I have a question for the person who submitted their PC for review, I think the name was Brevoano Gabrielle? They talked about the bottleneck of their G3240 and their GTX 1060 3GB GPU. Anyway, I have a used i5-4690k. If interested send me a reply.
A 5600XT is barely an upgrade over a 980Ti. The latter overclocks very well and I built a friend's rig with one. Just as good as a 1070 but with less VRAM. Crushes any game at 1080p@60.
I like that it's not top of the line builds, aged but still capable to game. I still run an i7 920 d0 oc 3.8ghz,12gb 1448mhz, 1060 6gb oc, 2xsamsung evo 860.
if you like the dell mouse, try out the Rosewill M-59 mouse. i have the M-59 rgb mouse. i always just have the rgb off on it, but my gf likes it, so she just flips the switch the mouse has on it to turn the rgb on or off. the software works for it just fine and you can adjust things as you might like.... its by no means a "gaming mouse" as most people think. its a fairly basic mouse and reminds me alot of older mice in the shape and the overall feel while being used. i like that. it also tracks nicely for me too. i can play games for many hours and not even realize how long its been. some mice are super uncomfortable to me and i can only play an hour or so before i really just cant any more.... but yeah, give the Rosewill M-59 mouse a look, in case your dell mouse ever goes out on you. ive been using mine for about a year and a half and its been pretty good and its fairly basic. well, its an upgrade from basic, but not by much really.
2:00 im upgrading to a 980 ti ( perferably a evga card) from a gtx 970 , casue well 970 isnt doing well for a vr game ( Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners) Also good channel and series : ] .
The problem with the older Phenom CPUs is, that titles like APEX Legends don't run on these. Some modern instruction sets are just not supported by these older CPUs from AMD. Intel CPUs from this time got at least the got the most important nowadays.
My current $550(aud) rig: I5 6600 (non k) 16gb ddr4 2400mhz Gtx 1060 6gb exoc 500gb nvme boot drive 2x 500gb sata ssds for games 4tb hdd mass storage El'cheapo asus mobo Cooler master lite 3 case 700w fully modular power sup Blue ray drive Office style/budget keyboard-mouse combo Handles doom eternal rather nicely with mostly everything set to ultra expect 1 of the settings due to slight lack in vram (an 8gb gpu would over come this "issue") What do you think?
the Phenom II X4 user should think about upgrading CPU already since 2015 xD I replaced my X6, even OCed to hell with a i5 4430, damn.... the 4430 use less than 1/3 of the power of the Phenom which heated my room very fast, and also MUCH better performance, despite its "only" a 4C/4T compared to 6C at Phenom II
