I never realised how badly the residents were being treated. All very sad. i have fond memorys of relatives n frinds who lived on the estate and it actually breaks my heart to pass by piles of rubble.
Neighborhoods are gone. People don’t live in the same place their whole lives anymore. People get starter homes, then move up, then downsize. Work changes so moves happen for that as well.
Lendlease stand to make a profit of £194m and APPARENTLY Southwark council won't make any profit. I bet some individuals do if not the whole stinking institution.
I read somewhere that local government own the land and so, I'm assuming they sold it to Lendlease which probably made them profit that way. But again, this is just speculation. I'm still new to understanding urban regeneration.
