I swear the first video on this channel popped into existence the same week I was wishing there was Irish/European focused channels on this stuff. Keep up the great work lads!
We definitely were thinking the same before turning on the camera for the first time! Thanks a million, Anthony, appreciate you watching and being on the journey with us. 😎 - Cian
It’s great to see some real competition here in banking, finally! My only issue with Revolut is it has had a number of tech issues, mostly deposit outages.. whereas AIB has been solid.
Hi Edward, About time there was some competition! Definitely a few issues still but more pros compared to traditional banks in my view. Haven't experienced deposit issues myself - what was happening to you? - Cian
Thanks for watching, Tomás! Agree - definitely something that is lacking in Ireland. I'm still struggling to find a use for Pythagoras' theorem in my day-to-day! 😂 - Cian
When it will check my last 3 months' salary from my savings account if it sees that it's nothing as I was taking money from home (as they are capable to do that and I have started a new job exactly from the month of applying for the loan but before that I was unemployed which means I have not received even my first salary from my workplace yet) to bear my living expenses in those last 3 months, how much are my chances to get accepted for this loan program? P.S. I am a foreign student in Germany and I am applying for a 10000 euros loan to be paid within 3 years.
Hey Aravind - Interesting, will need to look into this as I'm unsure if Revolut (specifically) offer this facility. But thanks for the suggestion and the comment! - Ste
This is my first month I getting salary income , all saving , stocks only musing Revolut , based on kbc leaving Ireland I cancelled my account. Revolut (using peremium ) all ready a game changer for many people but if start offering mortgage….
Hi, great video! Are the interest rates fixed with Revolut? Let's say it's 5.99% originally, does that mean it's guaranteed to stay the same throughout the 1-5 years you're paying back?
Hey Indica - our understanding is that the rate you are offered is the rate you receive for the duration of the loan, but always worth triple checking with Revolut directly for your own peace of mind! :)
I was studying in Ireland where I applied to my revolut account but now my visa expired I am not european. So can I ask a loan and use the money in other country or is only to Ireland?
Revolut have been slowly improving over the last number of years, this is the next step in taking huge market share away from the major banks. The legacy banks have missed the boat and have been completely out innovated, it’s far too late for them to catch up now! Great video as always lads!
I've been a Revolut user since 2015, they're only getting better and better. Rarely use my KBC account - with them leaving Ireland soon, I think I'll move everything to Revolut. Thanks for watching as always. :) - Cian
Hey Surendra, Yes, the interest rate starts from 5.99% but could be higher depending on the individual's circumstances. Banks are required by law to ask for your PPSN to perform a Central Credit Register credit enquiry application. - Cian
Thanks a million for watching, Marian! No, I believe it is available to all account types. Do you see the Loans option in your app? You may need to swipe across past Vaults - tricky to find! - Cian
@@mariangligan1977 So changing currency shouldn't really make a difference, but this sounds odd. Can you navigate to what Revolut call the 'Hub'? This is basically a list of the apps within the app with all the mini coloured squares (cards, group bills, atms nearby, donations, etc etc.). On our screens, if you scroll through those, you'll see a green box that says 'loans'. If its not visibile, it may not be rolled out to your account just yet! - Ste
@@TheLearningsReport Hey Cian, as with any other Revolut products, you can find loans in the hub! To access the hub, tap on the icon that looks like 4 little cubes at the bottom of the screen.
Some one help me please!!! How can I repay early a loan? Like if I wanna pay 500€ instead of 12 € to short it how do I do it? I don't understand the answer from the revolut chat please help
Hey could you please clarify my doubt , recently I created a Revolut account and they have asked me for my tax residence and I gave my home nation name because I'm in Ireland since last 1 month and as per the app I should be resident for atleast 6 months to pay tax . So the thing is I do Crypto trading and investing in Binance . Recently I cashed out some crypto almost 5000euro through P2P and he paid through Revolut. So am I obliged to pay capital gain tax or any other sort of taxes?
Hey Aiysha, Firstly, welcome to Ireland! Hope you're settling in well. :) So, it gets more complex with different tax residency scenarios so let's split your scenario out. If you have just been in Ireland just for 1 month, you most likely are not tax resident unless you elect to be or if you plan to be in Ireland for the rest of the year. To be tax resident, you need to be in the country for 183 days of the tax year. More details here: www.revenue.ie/en/jobs-and-pensions/tax-residence/how-to-know-if-you-are-resident-for-tax-purposes.aspx The tax you would pay on the disposal of crypto is CGT. If you are non-resident, you only pay CGT on assets based in Ireland which I would doubt is where your crypto is. More details here: www.revenue.ie/en/gains-gifts-and-inheritance/transfering-an-asset/index.aspx I would raise an enquiry on Revenue.ie explaining your situation and getting written confirmation from them as to whether you have a tax liability or not. If you don't owe tax in Ireland, that doesn't mean that you don't owe tax elsewhere so you would also have to check your tax residence country's tax rules too. - Cian
Hey Dan, They are available to new and existing customers. Couldn't find anything in the Revolut app on how long it would take after you sign up but a few articles were suggesting a few days. I imagine that once you have your account verified, you will have access to all of the features - let us know how you get on! - Cian
@@TheLearningsReport hey Cian, I'm getting rejected for a loan, doesn't matter how much. I don't know if they can't verify my pay from the bank. Ill try again when I get paid again and test.
@@hill16upthedubs Hi Dan - I also had issues getting approved for one. I only applied for the sake of the video (I just wanted to test the process) but now I've gone down a rabbit hole with their support trying to figure out why I wasn't approved for the base rate loan. Bank etc are all linked to the app, so its unclear what the criteria is. Will keep you posted, but you're not alone! - Ste
@@hill16upthedubs Heya Dan - Yea this is understandable, but for example I have years of ongoing salary pay into my account and I still had some issues with them too 🤷♂️ Were you able to get sorted? I'm actually leaning more and more into switching salary payments directly into Revolut to be honest - the €42 or whatever maintenance fess that AIB charge here just seem unnecessary now that I pretty much do everything with Revolut!
Hmm that sounds odd - we thought they had released it to everyone nationwide (if Ireland) at this point. Have you dropped them a message via their chat? I'd recommend giving that a go and see what they say. Hope it gets sorted for you soon! - Ste
Hi Datec, It should be up at the top of the home screen in the menu with Accounts, Cards, Stocks, Cryptos, Vaults - you just need to show across as it's not visible initially. - Cian
Hey Darren, Looks like Credit Unions are currently offering 10.59% APR for a €5k, 3-Year loan so Revolut still compares better. You can check out their loan calculator here: www.creditunion.ie/loans/personal-loan-calculator/ - Cian
Great video lads I tried to get a 5k loan there (wanna buy a dirtbike to compete) I'm currently unemployed 😅 it saying issues with address... hopefully it can be ok , do you think that would be possible to get ?
Transferred the account from Croatian to Irish, more than a month passed still no loans. If they want to be competitive they need to be quicker. Will probably consider other banks.
I think this pandemic has taught people the importance of multiple streams of income . Unfortunately having a job doesn't mean security rather having different investment in the real deal
Hey Martin, Thanks for watching. 👍 True - it's been very tough for many people. Diversification of income is a great way to mitigate the risk but not possible for everyone. - Cian
Can you transfer loan money to your bank account? Thinking to get revolut loan to get car and half savings i have on my account but half would get loan from revolut, so.. Thanks
