I thought why not, enabled the revpoint program, however I didn't notice the spare change feature. So now I've spent 40€ to get 2000 revpoints worth around 12€ on booking. Very much worth it.
Revolut hotel prices are worse than what you get when booking on other platforms. I ha e ultra and think slow service/and the benefits does not equal the cost of the plan.
Hi and I would say it depends, initially I had the same thoughts but in recent times I found cheaper options on Revolut even compared to Booking com Genius 3 plus the RevPoints you get in return. For me I also benefit from all the other great benefits like cashback, airport lounge and partner benefits so it's more than worth it, but I understand it might not be for everyone 👌
@@SmartMoneywithKai With a lot of other stuff I think it depends on when and where you try to book, I've found hotels cheaper on Revolut than other platforms, and that's without the 10% cashback they offered before, so that was another big bonus. They've since then removed the cashback on stays, and are now removing FIAT cashback. I'll be downgrading my subscription because I don't really use any of the subscriptions they offer either, and have lounge access through other cards. Moving forwards Revolut will still be my main bank for SEPA transfers, and I do need high FX-conversion limits due to my native currency not being EUR, so I'll probably stick with Plus or Premium. All in all I really like Revolut, but for me the price for Metal or Ultra isn't worth it. I'm strongly considering moving to the Nexo card for now.
If i have 10k revpoints how much distance is thst for a flight? Also can u use it for my friend also, i guess it will be 2 tickets and i will need double the points ?
Hi and it depends on the airline you transfer it to. Different airlines have different miles, and mile sharing rules so best to just check with your airline. Cheers
I just noticed I spent 280 Euros in the last 03 months due to the spare change feature. Completely disappointed, I wish I could have seen your video before. Will try to redeem my 17000 Rev points now in some useful way.
Once a again, great video with a clear explanation. I am stick like a glue with my Revolut Metal card for everyday expenses. The RevPoints are valid for 3 years from the date they're received in our accounts.
Thanks a lot for sharing Pedro and great insight, did not know about the 3 years, so this is great and should be long enough for most users. How you plan to redeem them? Convert to miles? I am waiting for more clarity on Revolut Pay, that would be nice to use it for that 👌
@@SmartMoneywithKai Fow now definitely I will wait for more details on Revolut Pay system and accumulate my RevPoints. But I already connected my Flying Blue card to the miles system and if I find a good deal on a next travel flight I'll consider to convert the points in miles. Let's wait and see.
Hi Kai great video, just a quick question with my standard revolut card I have to turn on spare change round-ups to earn revpoints for spending money. I was wondering if the paid plans (i.e premium, metal and Ultra) allow you to earn revpoints with round ups turned off. That would really incentivize me to upgrade as I don't want to spend money buying revpoints.
They can change the ratio every time, like the airlines do. Before you could get a free flight for 10k points, now you need 50k. It's a way for them to reduce the value of the points in the future. So, no thank you. I won't do anything special in order to get points.
Hi and thanks for sharing. Yeah, that's why generally I am also not a fan of points in general, just so hard to track and stay on top of, I just prefer to get actual cashback and 1.2% with Pro is pretty sweet 👌
Metal user here. Rev points are not a good deal. Cashback was better. It's a gimmick. You can get prices for flights hotels and experiences cheaper elsewhere with out using rev points for "discounts".
Hi 👋 I hear you. Cashback is straightforward and flexible, giving you real money back to use anywhere. RevPoints can feel restrictive, often not offering the best deals compared to other options. If you're finding better prices elsewhere, cashback might be the better choice for you, for me as well 😉 Cheers, Kai
Great video! So I was wondering if 1 RevPoint is 1 air mile, than wouldn’t around 3000 points already be able to cover almost any flight and back in Europe?
Not really. "Airline miles" generally refer not to distances flown, but to a kind of currency, created by airline loyalty programs. It's not 1 to 1 correspondence. For example, with Transavia, for a flight of just over 2500 miles, I needed 55000 "airline" miles to get the ticket for "free"
Hiii Kai, thanks for very Informative video as always. The only thing is stopping me to use Revolute is credit card feature. I have to have credit card because in many places they ask for credit card and it also convenient to way to pay. specially traditional banks are charging too much fees for bank account and credit card with no interest. If they add credit card feature then i would love to switch premium or metal plan for my salary account.
@@carlesg0n LOL, let's see, I am from Austria. They take really long time to release features here, for example we recently got savings feature with interest. Now I am not sure, when will they release credit card. I think, they do not have that feature in Germany too. But I am not sure.
@@jameswatkins6452 You mean the one receiving the free share? Good question, I guess technically yes, but it should be listed on your year end tax report your broker will issue for you. Cheers
