The Revolution Cut was first explained on the tape 'Showoff Vol. 1' by Brian Tudor in 1999. Since then, it has become a classic in our community and is a must-learn for any cardist. Its mechanics have been the basis for hundreds of flourishes, and the Revolution Cut could be described as the father of all modern one-handed cuts. In this video you'll be introduced to a few of Tobias Levin's personal tips and subtleties - discovered over almost a decade of practice and refinement.

Everyone commenting that this is useless or something along those lines - you couldn't be more wrong. I see people who have been doing cardistry for years and they are still getting this move wrong. The key to being really good at what you do is perfecting the basics and the classics. These little tips will really help some people improve their revolution cut, and that's what Dealersgrip is all about. Quality over quantity. I first learnt this move in 2003 and even though I was familiar with the pointers and tips Tobias shares in this video, it's arrogant to think that everyone else will know these things. Please, just be thankful that they are spending their valuable time making this, and other high quality videos for free. I don't know if anyone remembers what the cardistry community was like 5-7 years ago, but it certainly didn't have this amount of extremely high quality tutorials and tips videos for free. The overwhelming majority of people will NOT find it useless. If you do, then shut up, keep your comments to yourself and please move along and spend your time on what you think is useful and valuable. Thanks for sharing this stuff. I know how much time you put into it and I have to share my thoughts when I see people being ungrateful and entitled.

This is 7 years old so I will just say it fast but this guy does give tips that are for bigger hands. So it could 100% be useless and that person couldn't be more right! But I agree the video is great even tho I think it was unless because my hands are way to small to do the cut his way.

hey guys i am new and want to learn everything right from beginning but i cant get the full understanding with this vid. anyone has some hints for me at 0:59 the top cards just sliding down and fall and i just cant figure out how to prevent it :( watched even in slow motion numerious times still it fails the hole time. would appreciate much any help

Rozov Oleg your ring finger is most likely not holding onto the cards completely. This was a big problem for me when I was trying to do this. As your index and middle fingers rotate the top packet, your ring finger should push up the bottom packet (as stated in the video). After that, you may need to do a sleight adjustment to put your ring higher up on the packet, so when your thumb and middle get out of the way, your ring is still holding onto the packet tightly.

Thanks for the reply. You were right :) I werent holding the cards completely, because i had my index finger and my ring finger straight. Because of that I was loosing the tension to the top card of the package and that's why it slipped away the hole time 😅

Rozov Oleg Haha no problem! I'm happy you're getting it now, it's a really awesome move 😄

Having a hard time getting the gap for the ring finger between the two packets before the twirl.

To anyone having the same trouble as I did when starting out, I fixed my problem by doing this. Make sure that your thumb starts more than half way away from your pinky on the the near long edge, and after you drop the bottom packet to your palm, the pointer finger moves to the far long edge about opposite your thumb or a little closer to the pinky side.

I used to use my ring finger to twirl the deck but found using the middle finger a little cleaner of a move

When I first got into Magic 10 years ago, playing with cards and whatnot. I did this variation of a Charlier cut which I didn't know was actually a cut called 'Revolution cut' I thought I had invented something Grand.
