Whoops! Uploaded that incorrectly. Here's the REAL Moonblood episode. I was gonna do a Bilskirnir one but I feel like you need to know Moonblood to understand a lot of that style of black metal, plus Moonblood rules and people don't talk about them enough.

Moonblood is, in my opinion, the best 2° wave BM out there. Good thing Gaamalzagoth is releasing the rehearsal tapes on cds now.

Moonblood is one of the best Black Metal bands for sure, started listening in 2000, it was tough tracking down music back then, only MP3s were available.very epic and catchy music, my favorite tracks are from the Split with DSO, Moonstruck right behind

Moonblood was a true cult band back in the days, I remember fondly the hysteria around the almost mythical taste our german steel LP. I just had a few tapes from them, wish their stuff was in better circulation back then so I could've really got obsessed with their music.

They became pretty big with filesharing, I remember a girl introducing me to them during my highschool years. Fun times (actually not, because I had to get up at 6 am to catch the train to get to highschool 6 days a week, no wonder I was depressed). About German black metal, besides bands that you have already mentioned on this channel and the obvious ones I'd probably mention Verdunkeln (guy from Graupel in it, the Band that features the 2nd singer of Nagelfar), some Lunar Aurora albums and the insanity that one would call the first 2 Dark Tribe albums. Drautran is pretty damn cool, pretty damn nice early Helheim worship with similar vocals.

Yeah I think they were one of the earliest black metal bands I found out about, because they were HUGE on the internet in the early '00s.

Okay I've listened to their two full-lengths and they're pretty great, gotta say. Kind of Blazebirth Hall-ish in how raw and atmospheric it sounds, but the melodic sense is super unique. Also they're signed to Darker Than Black, which definitely lends some credibility.

I mean I should probably take a day off I checked the schedule of when I booked times at the gym and I haven't had a day off for like uhhhh two and a half weeks when that virus thing first hit and everything closed I just had to do hundreds and hundreds of pushups it was awful actually running and what-not is the reason that I got all autistic with the song "Shadows" on this episode, I came up with all of that while I was running the rest was mostly just jokes I thought up in the shower or on the toilet

It might be trve and/or kvlt but doing 300 pushups is still super boring, I ended up doing all kinds of weird variants like one handed, putting my legs up on stuff for declines, jogging to the park and doing pull-ups on the streetlights... I'm really glad the gyms are open again

Oooo! Wasn’t expecting this, Moonblood is one of my all time favorites. I remember being on the hunt for all the tapes from like 2008 to 2011, right before they started reissuing everything. The good days of paying overpriced bootleg tapes on eBay. I feel like once that From Hell box set came out, Moonblood kinda surged in popularity. All the super cool vinyl youtubers on here were suddenly talking about them after that. Anyways, great vid as always man!

I got pretty excited when all that got reissued, all I actually owned from them before was this old ass Blut und Krieg shirt I got at Hell's Headbangers. Back in the mid '00s, Moonblood was actually mentioned fairly often, they might've been one of the earliest black metal bands I got into

That Blut und Krieg shirt is back up on hell’s headbangers right now haha. Great stuff. Also if you haven’t heard the Azaxul project , definitely check it out. It’s Mirko’s current project and the last album he re recorded 6 or 7 Moonblood tracks, and it’s the tits man.

He's got really big gaps between albums. The EP he put out a while ago is actually stuff he wrote in-between the last two albums, and he made it seem like it had a troubled recording history. I actually didn't get really into them until their last two albums. I knew their first couple for years and years but the later stuff, especially Wotan Redivivus, is exceptionally good.

@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 Yeah Wotan Redivivus slays. Anyway, I ALWAYS loved catchy black metal. Its an underrated aspect the genre can offer in a flattering way some other sub-genres dont pull off quite as well.

Project is called Novgorod. There's an instrumental demo up on bandcamp, but there's way more songs than those, I just haven't recorded them all yet. Glad you liked it!

It starts out with World Eater, then they continued the same riff with Cenotaph. They actually continued that song even farther on The IVth Crusade with the song Embers, and I think it might've kept going on one of the songs on Those Once Loyal or Mercenary. Pretty cool stuff, they've got this one mega-song that links over multiple albums.
