Metalheads like to name drop bands in reviews cause they're too lazy to break the music down with a critical ear. Ain't heard of Uada till now, but will check 'em out. Ain't nothing wrong with inspired song writing. Dave Mustaine' gotten enough royalties from Metallica to prove it.

Oh wow! I'm REAL late to this vid🤣🤣 This comment is coming as Uada just dropped a new single, and are about to release their fourth album on the world. That being the case, there have been a few situations that have drawn them undue hate. With that said, I actually have been chatting with Jake Superchi almost daily for 3 years now over in Messenger (even got guest listed for a stop of their last tour with Rotting Christ since I couldn't afford the ticket at the time). Fuck you edgelord haters...he has been nothing but kind and supportive to me. Anyway, we have had A LOT of discussion on different influences, and you are DEFINITELY correct about Swedish melodic black metal being a HUGE influence. Dissection is a regular topic of discussion. You might (or might not) also be surprised to find out about some of the non-metal influences that get snuck into the Uada sound. Things like 80's goth/death rock ranging from Christian Death, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, to the darker works of The Cure and Souxie and The Banshees
