People seem to not realise how many Royal sons are there, besides Aemond theres Aegon and Jahaerys. Guess who’s the easiest target? Youre telling me calculating Daemon didnt see that coming?

I mean the criticism that can be directed to Rhaenyra is she knew who she was marrying.. literally her statement "with you at my side, my claim won't be so easily challenged". Now, she's surprised that the violent sociopath is doing violent sociopath things, and even now he goes to Harrenhal to aid her cause.. even Condal said in the BTS for this episode, that as soon as Daemon left she was open to attack and this will be a continuing theme in future episodes.

She's the leader of the Blacks. All of her subordinates are under her command, and their actions reflect on to her. She's obviously not solely to blame, nor is it entirely her fault, but she failed to communicate and ensure that her subordinates acted as she wished ethically. That said, they were still overly harsh on Rhenrya, probably because they just saw Daemon as cool.

@ACinemafanatic She's less at fault for tragedy than this one. She did command him to go there, but there were factors that she couldn't have or didn't know that led to it (Aemond being there and his vengeful personality). So that's on Aemond, really.

They all spoke with him and all told him their intention to rally the people of Kings landing. When Rhaenyra says I want Aemond, first thing Daemon does is go behind her back, doesn’t even tell her what he intends to do and it results in an unfortunate mistake. Now if for some reason, the kings wife , Helena were to do something behind Aegon back, omg we would never hear the end of it. Maybe because she’s a woman, maybe because she’s too emotional, maybe because whatever. But because the Almighty Daemon (who is not the King!!) acted on Rhaenyras behalf, all bets are off. Even sir Kristen Col went to the King after he sent Arryk off and told him what he had done. Just to be transparent. Honestly this was ass. Worst HOTD reaction channel

They hate women, but if a man did it, he would be a Goat. The same goes for Dany. If it was Jaime or Jon who burned King's Landing, they would still be loved.

She knew full well who she was marrying but love is love and their relationship is meant to be complex and complicated otherwise we wouldn't have tension for their story. This is a drama show as well as it is fantasy. She knows her uncle and Daemon is a wild dog but it's quite plausible that she just didn't think even Daemon was capable of such a vicious act. Even now it's hard to say what Daemon's *exact* motives are. Also why do people keep saying she let Daemon "run amok" when it was stated that he is heading to Harrenhall for ally recruitment purposes? Now granted he could very well be doing or do his own thing once again for sure but that's not on Rhaenyra at all. He's supposed to be recruiting allies for their war so anything else is definitely on *him* . Same as his decision to target a literal toddler.

internally its obvious that Rhaenyra is not to blame bc Daemon went rogue. However, externally, all of his actions reflect on her. Noone is going to believe Daemon might have done such an act without Rhaenyra's support (the characters arent omnipotent and dont know whats going on in Dragonstone and their bedchamber) which is why this is such a blow to Rhaenyra's reputation

It doesn’t have to automatically result in death but I guess you have to have common sense to understand that which they do not have obviously. People (daemon glazers) want to blame rhaenyra bc “she should’ve know who she married” like ok??
