I think you guys missed it. Rhaenyra didn't ask Rhaena just to take care of the young dragons and the eggs; she began the conversation by saying she is sending Joffrey Velaryon (the youngest of her first 3 kids) to Lady Jeyne as Jeyne's ward. This is something nobles did in old times, they sent younger sons away to be raised by another House they were allied with so they could make connections with people outside their own lands and learn how to become knights/castellans (keeper of the castle)/stewards/etc. This was a way of networking and binding Houses together. In Game of Thrones, for instance, Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark were both wards of John Arryn because Jon had no children, Robert's parents were dead (so he needed to be instructed in how to be a High Lord) and Ned was a second son who needed to get out of the Stark lands and form relationships so he could marry the heiress of another House. Since Joffrey was already going to be the ward of Lady Jeyne, it made sense to send him away now as things are getting hotter. And because the other 2 children, the ones Rhaenyra had with Daemon, are just babies, she wants to send them somewhere safer now that the Greens have proven they could sneak someone into her home to kill her or her kids. She is asking Rhaena, as her stepdaughter, to go with the little ones and be a mother to them, to keep them safe and look after them, even to take them across the sea to Pentos if she can where they will be out of reach of any Green assassins. Unfortunately, for Rhaena this just feels like she is being sent away because she doesn't have a dragon and isn't useful to the fight. Daemon has always, in her mind, ignored her because she isn't bonded to a dragon like her older sister is, and now her stepmother is sending her away to look after babies. She doesn't see this as a sign of Rhaenyra's HUGE trust and faith in her, but as Rhaenyra saying she is in the way and as helpless as the babies are.

I thought we made it pretty clear that this show is too smart for y’all…

Rhaena has been given a lot of responsibility. She now has the 3 younger sons, the 2 younger dragons, and 4 dragon eggs to look after. That is essentially the entire next generation of House Targareyn if something were to happen to Jace and Baela.

About Rhaenyra's decision to talk to Alicent: Rhaenyra wanted to speak with Alicent because of their past friendship, Alicent's aversion to war, and her being mother to Aegon hoping he would be inclined to listen to her (Rhaenyra doesn't know yet that Alicent has no control over her sons, Rhaenyra was probably thinking Alicent did because Rhaenyra's children (and step-children) do the things she asks them to). Rhaenyra's entire thing is that she wanted to avoid war at ALL COST. A couple of L takes in the video.

i don't understand why rob hating on Rhaenyra when the only thing Rhaenyra do is take a risk to talk to alicent to prevent war. something that Alicent can't do before crowned Aegon the usurper.

Rheynera was named the heir to the Iron Throne and her father never changed his mind about that. People keep mentioning that her children are bastards - I can understand that being a problem regarding being heirs to Driftmark because they are not true Valyrians. All her children though are hers therefore they have Targaryen blood and she is the rightful heir. In fact, she is the heir only because Otto forced him into naming her once Viserys wife and baby son died (that was Otto's idea - to keep Daemon off of the throne). Otto knew that he was sneaking his daughter in to be the next queen in hopes of giving Viserys a son - so why did he bother to name Rheynera - only to steal it back from her later? Otto caused this whole problem. Also, the plan Viserys had with Corlys and Rhaenys was that when Rheynera and Lenore got married, the child would have the last name Valyrian, but when they ascended to the throne, their name would revert back to Targaryen. Her sons don't have to be Lenore's sons they were always hers and that made them Targaryens and heirs regardless. Since they don't need to have Lenore's last name to be king, they don't need him to be their father either, at least not regarding the Iron Throne. This war is the fault of the Greens (Hightower's) because it was Otto's scheming, that got them all here in the first place. It was great to see it all fall apart for Otto because he thought he was being so clever in his personal power grab. Otto would have put Aegon on the Throne even without Alicent's misunderstanding - the council had been planning it for weeks before he died. Otto just used Alicent's misunderstanding to get her in line because she would have been the biggest obstacle. But, Otto's conversation with Aegon proved that he knew Viserys never changed his mind "Is that what you think?" Otto is the true usurper of the Iron Throne.

I think part of Rhaenyra was questioning herself as heir to the throne because Alicent said her Father changed his mind. There was a small part of her that thought maybe her dad didn't think she could do it in the end. But now that she knows that Alicent got it wrong and she is the true Heir, it's on. Alicent messed up and it is too late to take it back, Rhaenyra tried to make peace but she knows now that there is no stopping the War that has to happen. It's her rightful throne and she will take it back, or die trying.

I feel like you guys really don't understand the motivations and intentions of these characters. Between Rhaenyra and Aegon the one who truly cares about the realm is Rhaenyra. War effects the civilian population the worst. The thought of violence and bloodshed makes Rhaenyra very afraid. Will it be worth it, will she be able to live with herself with all that blood on her hands? Is starting a war worth the cost of sitting on that throne? It's a good thing she doesn't want bloodshed. Look at Aegon, he is talking about war with a big stupid smile on his face. No one is really thinking about the people except for Rhaenyra. She even took a massive risk as a last attempt to make peace with Alicent. No one can say she didn't try or she isn't worried about the realm.
