For me, the driving lessons and the cake mixer were the best gifts, both thoughtful and practical even at high/low price tags, not insulting at all. The rest of them are questionable 🤣

My favourite was the horse riding lessons because obviously it meant a lot to be able to enjoy something they couldn’t really afford ❤️

I love how they give gifts that really fit into their lifestyle and what they need

The cinema tickets were actually a really good gift because on average cinema tickets are like 11 pounds each and when u add that up it’s a LOT OF MONEY

The last gift was probably the best out of them all

The best gift I ever saw was a mobility scooter of one of these episodes The mixer and driving lessons was so thoughtful It doesn't have too cost loads but sometimes something so thoughtful and small can make a huge difference

One of my favourite programmes on TV. A gift of appreciation is always nice and I was always touched by the mutual respect that helped to narrow the 'divides'. x

The nicest thing was how they appreciated each other and genuinely seemed to want to stay in touch. The gift is appropriate for thanking someone for having them not to compensate for the difference in their finances.

Being in the situation of the poor families is not something that anyone would want to go through but you have to remember that everyone in the uk has the privilege of free education, when my uncle was a child and still living in Syria he was so poor that sometimes he would have to write on scrap wall paper and loo roll he later moved to Sweden after receiving his qualifications and now he is one of the top doctors in Sweden, 20 years ago both of my parents came to England from Syria not knowing a word of English and now my dad is a plastic surgeon and my mom has a masters degree in teaching. It just shows that if you want something you’ll work for it no matter what. The poor families situation is somewhat self inflicted, they had the option to succeed in school but chose not to.

I think people who are expecting the rich families to gift the poorer families really expensive things aren't understanding that although they probably could; it would make the poorer families parents feel so low and destroy their dignity and pride if a rich child gives your child something they dream of and you couldn't afford to give it to your own child. Getting something small and thoughtful is best.

I’ve been with my maid’s family before and would gift them small but thoughtful things because I’ve learnt over the years that gifting a person way poorer than you an expensive gift is kinda like a fuck you to them. Ok, I think that the thing with some of the “gifts” is this: they are giving them things that they wouldn’t get for themselves. It’s not supposed to be essentials, it’s supposed to be a guilty pleasure type thing. Like riding lessons, driving school, etc. some of the other gifts are just plain horrible though.

Some people on here don't seem to understand the point of other's comments about cheap gifts. We all get that the gifts are useful and a great help for the receivers but for the ones giving the gift it's like giving away £50 when they have £1million in the bank, they can definitely afford to give a little more

I get being grateful for anything but damn... no ones saying you can help the whole world and every problem, but bit crazy that you can casually buy items for more than somebody’s rent and say “i don’t even have to save for that” then just give them basically peanuts too you?? what would it be to give it to that family that spent time with you and let you in their home (whether to your taste or not)... i dunno like anything is too be grateful for, but i pray God puts me in such a position. I can only speak for myself really... coz it’s one family you have the experience with i’ll pay at least somebody’s month rent, give them the ability to try catch back up with debts and get the kids some toys 🤷🏾‍♀️♥️
