i wish more runs were produced like this, I'd pay for it. Nice editing between the dash cams and helicopter views with the audio being from the car. Only thing that would make it perfect would be a small digital speedometer in a corner to see how fast they're going.
I´m a big WRC-fan, and a very great plus-side compared to F1 is that competitors are friendly to each other. Thats´s because in F1 it´s always man vs. man, in rallying it´s man vs. clock and the drivers can be friends although the competition is hard.
@JoseCanario13 The Peugeot 206 had like most WRC cars a sequential paddle-shift type gearbox, where the driver shifts manually, and the clutch only needs to be engaged when starting and during handbrake turns. The Peugeot was different as at the time, it was the only 5-speed unit, where the others had 6-speed. Having one less gear made it tricky sometimes to choose the correct gear for the corner, so the 206 had a computer override, where it would downshift into a lower gear for better power.
Richard and Robert's pace note system is the best imo. Seems to me these days the trend is to cram as much detail as you can to the point were it becomes information overload.
Nah, Loeb and Ogier use the same system where they give as much information as possible. They also uses degrees to describe corners instead of numbers or descriptive. Those 2 Frenchmen changed the game entirely by using a system never used before and became 9 and 6 times world champ respectively wrcbehindthestages.blogspot.com/2014/08/a-pace-note-side-note.html This article explains well why their system is really good.
It was quite a windy section where Richard caught Seb, and I think Seb just didn't see him until he was right along side. Once Richard is along side him, you can see Loeb moves over straight away. I don't think it was an intentional block.
@anttrap321 In almost all WRC cars, no. The gear changes are so quick, it is better for the computer to match the revs on downchanges than for the driver to do them. Don't even need to use the clutch for downshifting, just flick the lever or paddle. The gearbox is similar if you like to dual-clutch gearboxes that you find on road sports cars such as the Mitsubishi Evo X, Nissan GT-R and VW Golf GTI. They, like the sequential units in WRC cars, match the revs electronically in a split second.
Mate I don't think it was an intentional block. It was a narrow section where Richard caught Seb, and when Seb realised, he pulled over to let him past. A broken steering rack and suspension wouldn't have made it easy to drive either.
I have a Peugeot Speedfight 2 WRC 206 50cc liquid cooled. I bought it second hands, and i am very taking care of it. And i returned it into a more normal model, with just the plastic black rear fender? sorry i'm dutch but i have the speedfight, and it's my 50cc scooter. And i have the scale model of Burns and Reid in 1:18.
@creationofsociety probably because he didnt see him or heard him, his mirrors were shot from crash and he had all that noise coming from his broken car. as soon as hes seen he he moved to the right go back and see
@leemassey1 Why should you have 3 runs? In rallying you use each stage once, twice at the most. That's the whole idea of rallying, the challenge of driving on roads unfamiliar to you. Even then, 5 seconds within the time set by a 206 WRC driving a standard 1.4 L 206? 80hp vs 320hp? Good luck with that.

I agree the driving style of the current WRCars isn't anywhere near as spectacular as rallying from the 70's thru to the 90's, but I don't think that makes this drive pathetic. As for the stage itself, it isn't shit. Every single rally stage is unique and different, with it's own challenges, that's what makes rallying awesome
lets learn about the sport before posting and making an ass out of yourself, the cars today complete the stages faster then the cars of group b, horsepower isnt everything is a sport of traction and car control
