Yeah and most importantly if you watched his TV show The Richard Pryor Show he constantly mentioned how it's wrong for people to use it as comedy to use the n-word that people needs to understand the importance and the history behind that word it's a word of hate not a word of Comedy
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hzl7G9XhLxc.html This was the video I was talking about where Richard Pryor talks about his views on the n word. I wish more people would learn from him like I don't understand why people goes around and calls people the n-word regardless of their color..
yeah this video I showed you is something from his skit comedy, but I remember he did talk about it on his Richard Pryor Show because I watched a few of his episodes on RU-vid a couple years ago a few of his episodes had a young Robin Williams
Michael Williams so true, was just thinking about that after watching Leno on RU-vid. He would always hit below the belt to make good looking ladies men actors look bad.
Johnny Carson and Richard Pryor are two of the all-time greats, both gone too soon. RIP Johnny RIP Richard I loved both of these guys, and grew up watching them both.
It never seems to register that the only way we Rest In Peace is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. We can’t get to heaven without our belief in His finished work on the cross.
Thank yinz for your service also... HEY!!! CHECK THIS OUT... GOD IS GOOD ENERGY , AND THE KEY TO LIFE IS BBBBBBBAAAAAALLLLLANNNNNNCCCEE. DO DUH MATH. LMFAO
Mr. J. Carson and Mr R. Pryor: Their communication, respect and love for each other are for me an example you wish it would be everywhere. To see these two great people gives joy and respect. Hope they continue with others in heaven.
I feel very fortunate to be one of the BLESSED individuals to have seen him live. And he was INCREDIBLE. Never laughed so hard or cried so much in a 2 hour period. He was a very talented young man.
@@hawaiigirl8089mean spirited” omg For years I’ve been trying to put the word on what today’s comedy is compared to 80s and very very early 90s mean spirit is perfect
Thanks very much for posting! To see and hear Richard Pryor again is an absolute gift. But to see him interviewed by Johnny Carson is indeed special. Thanks again and be safe 🙏 ☮️
Unbelievable. Johnny was always very conservative in his comedic approach. Richard was in your face. Together they brought out the best in one another. Truly comedic magic.
Agreed. Johnny Carson and Richard Pryor were masters at their craft. Johnny would "set up the pins' so Richard could "knock them down". All Johnny needed to do was to "prime Richard's motor" every so often, and Pryor would let it rip. Another interesting thing noticed over the years; If you've ever watched the multiple times Pryor was on the Carson Show, Johnny felt he needed to be Richard's "father figure" The chemistry between the two was so innocent. I think Johnny truly felt and loved Richard Pryor that way, and visa-vera. If you ever see Richard Pryor on Letterman, -Pryor looked like he didn't want to be there.
He wasn’t, watch old episodes of him on Merv Griffin, he’s a nervous mess. It took years of him honing his craft to appear to be the effortless comedian he seems here.
@@morty4815162342 Hmm!....that's because Richard was a junkie, as you may have heard different drugs in your system all at once will cause nervousness, paranoia and erratic behavior which became part of his routine!
@@morty4815162342 He was natural. He did stand up for years in front of Black audiences before he started going on television doing interviews and performing before a larger audience. He was an introvert and was probably nervous when he had to be himself in front an audience. What he honed was doing interviews.
I thought I was the only one but he said that I laughed and didn't hear the the next three jokes that's original cuz I never been described like that I never heard it described like that until he said it and then you can actually picture and specially that's spinning for 20 minutes that's what I hit the flow
As a young man, I would gather with my friends and sit thru his albums and laugh so hard and later we quoted the parts we remembered all week, and then... we would do it all over again.
Was listening to Richard Pryor in the 70s on vinyl and STILL quoting lines from that album in 2022, over 50 years later....has to be the GOAT...im just sayin.
I miss those years. I was a teenager back them and seems like people had more class. Respectful and hard working. The only time I heard my Grand-Father laugh from the gut was when he was watching the Tonight Show with Johnny. Thank you Johnny :)
Right I was thinking that too, was this show before Thriller? but it was actually almost a year after Thriller was made, and he had seven number ones so I'm sure everybody knew who he was.
@@ravelive I don’t know but I’m pretty sure he was still incredibly famous even before thriller. Him and Elvis Presley are probably significantly more famous than the founding fathers of the United States but even Michael Jackson and the Jackson five was still really really famous
I'm pretty sure it was a joke that kind of went unnoticed and he just carried on with what he was going to say. MJ was already wildly famous. Thriller didn't make him famous. His album prior to "Thriller" was "Off The Wall" and it was chart topping, plus he was famous with his brothers in the Jackson 5 since he was a little kid.
Saw a Tonight Show back in 1973 and Richard had Johnny laughing so hard that when they came back from a break Richard would say something again and they had to go back to break immediately! Carson was laughing sooo hard that he couldnt work!! He just waved the cameras away!! LOL
Best stand-up comedian ever!!! I went to the theater and seen "Live on the sunset strip" and my brother and I had to walk outside because we were laughing so hard, we were disturbing people. My favorite movies of his is "Stir crazy" and "Brewster's millions" He was the funniest man of his time!... R.I.P. Richard!
Johnny Carson was AMAZING ! He was so respectful and gracious To all his guests Absolutely! Miss you Johnny ! After God made you he broke the mold for sure! 🙏
That’s why I can’t watch Fallon. First off he’s such a kiss ass to all the guests . I mean you have to be nice to your guests of course but he is so way over the top like he’s interviewing Gods. Couldn’t take it anymore
You can see the nervousness in his eyes ... Richard Pryor had a tough Life....to have survived all that ....and live healthy must have been a big acomplishment for him . I remember his tv show .. I was...a kid... Johnny was the best. .. Cant beleave I graduated high school that year... Time flies.
Darling Richard! The Prophet. Funniest, truest dude who ever graced a stage. Saw him at the old Arie Crown theatre in Chicago, post-fire... pure genius. Laughed so hard I couldn’t inhale! Without him, Carlin and Bruce, there would BE no stand-up.Seinfeld calls him, “the Picasso of our profession.”
Johnny fuckin gets it man! You can tell he is battle hardened in the relationship department! Any man that's gone through a divorce or long term break up can tell by the way Johnny reacts to the subject of marriage / relationships that Johnny has been through some shit! Stay Strong Men!
Richard we LOVE you Baba. You inspired a whole generation of actors and comedians. And still even inspiring them TODAY! There would be no; Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Richard Blackwood, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Leo Muhammad, Chris Tucker, Bernie Mac (rest well) and a plethora of other Comics and actors. Thank you Sir Richard.❤️💛💚✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿🎤🎤🎤👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I miss Richard so much, what a genius in the movies! A true comic genius,a standup legend that turned out also to be one of America's greatest actors,Some kind of hero,Superman 3,Bustin loose,See no evil hear no evil and Harlem nights the list goes on!
Richard Pryor and Johny Carson two of the funniest guys . Sometimes just their expressions on their face would make you laugh !! They were real comedians ! Rest in peace . I loved watching this it brought back memories
Richard Pryor was not only the funniest comedian ever born, he was so handsome (& humble) too; you can see fame and wealth never went to his head and never changed who he was inside body & soul :)
@@cmbagwell he obviously regretted that. He was one of my favorites growing up. He lived with a lot of emotional pain and didn't really know how to deal with it. The story of his childhood is so sad.
Childhood memories!! I remember my dad saying he gets hit by a train at the end & my cousin started crying hard. It was pretty hilarious 😂 (I inherited my dads sick humor) ❤
I'm fortunate enough to have never had to deal with substance abuse & the challenge of overcoming it. I salute Richard Pryor and everyone else who dealt with it honestly & successfully. Well done sir, RIP.
2 Great guys together that truly understand each other inside and out made my day -old school there's nothing like it 😀 funny as hell crazy as hell 🙌 like and love 💜
Richard Pryor was truly a pioneer for true grit comedy about real life with no filters. He was a boss and continues to be a legend and inspiration to comics to this day. Anything Carson is hilarious. No other late night Host can come close to him. Can't touch him.
