@rikupajari
@rikupajari 5 лет назад
@@rwyo83 Bullshit. I met Richard in 2012. I saw him performing, lecturing, selling his DVD's and having a conversation for dozens of people for a whole weekend. I was competing in that weekend and while I waited my turn, I was just 10 feet away from him while he was "watching" the contest. And I can assure, he wasn't watching the contest. He had a small pad in his lap and he kept shuffling and dealing his cards with a personal assistant in his side. When people came to talk to him, he didn't had any contact with his eyes but he knew where to glance when he was spoken to because he had had a great acting teachers. But when he went to stage to do his one man show, he almost tripped to a plant that was in his way. He didn't find the table before he got some assist. He is definitely blind. But guess what? It doesn't bother him. Maybe he can not see but every time people came to him, he greeted everybody with big smile and a quick joke. I had (and still has) huge respect to his work and when I came to him, almost shaking with excitement and asked to pose for a photo with me, he gladly said yes. I had to point to him where the camera where and I got my picture with him. After that he presented us his techniques with cards as long as we wanted. He was just glad that there were people interested to see his skills. So summa summarum, if you have not met him, shut up saying that he is not blind. I can assure that he is. And even if he weren't, he is still one of the finest card men in the world. And one of my biggest heroes.
@RenaxTM91
@RenaxTM91 5 лет назад
@@rikupajari Also, He has prefomed a couple times with blindfolds and coins taped over his eyes, even if he could see he can definitley do the trick without seeing, and that would almost be more impressive. I've seen him do this a few different times now and I can honestly say no one else can do this mainly because they aren't blind and hence don't have the touch sensitivity required. My favourite part is how he recalls his Dai Vernon who was his mentor telling him that this could not be done. Handing the deck to spectators to shuffle and still deal the hand was not possible. Richard Turner I can honestly say is the best card mechanic ever.
@Honorbound43
@Honorbound43 Год назад
I kinda understand what he’s doing at least parts of it. When he tell hers to switch decks with him, he obviously didn’t like at the very least the top card on the deck. He is also able to deal from the second card and from the bottom. So with the belief that he can feel which cards are which I can see how is able to do at least a part of this trick

I would watch Valuetainment's interview with this absolute gem of a man, he is not only the absolute best card mechanic to ever live, he has lived the most amazing life and I say that with no exaggeration. For example, he casually mentions to the interviewer that he once wrestled 7 foot sharks. And just saying that he learned karate is an understatement. To achieve a black belt at his dojo he needed to fight 10 3 min fights, fighting a fresh black belt each round.

Legally blind. And what is more amazing is that he's not actually pawning 99% of the time and there's no cards under the deck, godamn he deserves a medal. EDIT: This is at world-best level, the only thing he could get better at is the drama because most people have no fucking clue of what he is doing; They just get confused: But if he explained slowly and showed his hands before the sleights it'd godamn blast peoples minds.

7 card stud. It's poker, and it's like regular hold'em except that you get 7 cards, and that your side cards decide if you win if someone else has as good of a hand. And as Ace High Straight is quite good, most hands don't win over it. You could still get a Straight Flush and then have Ace High. Which is the absolute best hand. However the way he dealt those cards it was impossible for anyone to get a Straight Flush Ace High.
@sh0werp0wer

@p3rpl3x1ty I've played it a handful of times and I'm familiar with it, but I don't know every in and out of it. Knowing how its done is even better. Its touch, he can feel the print on the cards to know what it is. he basically has 3 options, deal from the top, bottom or deal seconds until the top card is needed. not sure if he can "feel and deal" any lower than 2, but i suppose its R.T where talking about so it wouldn't surprise me. There is one video out there where he nails it without needing to "swap" or "cut" the deck. its fucking brilliant.

He has more than 3 options, there are videos of him dealing right from the middle of the deck. He can deal you any card you want from every single position in the deck

Ok so he's dealing dirty, I've seen him do that before... and then he took a piece of the deck chosen by the volunteer. Well I know he can tell you which card is which just by feeling the face of it but... he then knows exactly how many cards were handed to him INSTANTLY. And he's dealing with only a portion of a constantly shuffled deck. My mind already has trouble understanding how the best card mechanics in the world can do what they do, but this man makes them all look like amateurs. They do the most technically proficient and skillful moves perfectly, he does the impossible. I would say that I hope his name becomes as famous as Houdini's, but I think Merlin is a better comparison. This man's not a human, he's a wizard.

I believe I know how it’s done. And if I’m right, he has the most sensitive feel of any human being ever. I believe the side of the cards are finely marked and I’m talking about microscopic marked and he can actually feel the marks but whats even more amazing is, he can pull a specific marked card from the deck without the naked eye noticing. This is the only possible explanation I can come up with. I say this is the way he does it because when he doesn’t recognize the card in the deck he’s holding, he asks the women to give him another shuffled deck.

I'v been doing card cheating based card magic for 5 years, I can see a lot of his moves, I know what he is doing (for the most part). But this routine is impossible, I simply cant understand how it all goes together to the point where he with whatever deal he chooses to use can manipulate the cards to this extent. Truely magical. I hope he never tells his secret! I want this man to go down as, not only a legend, but as a myth among all upcoming cardmen!
@pavmx703
@pavmx703 3 года назад
It's not a secret, he can feel which cards are which and can tell what he's holding based on the wight of them. Even if you know every move he does, you wouldn't be able to do it because you don't have that ability and he's the only person I've ever seen able to do this.
@AitoNitram
@AitoNitram 3 года назад
@@pavmx703 No that is not how it's done, that is his premise. He has amazing talent and ability, but he is human. He can feel with one hand how many cards there are in the deck, but if he could feel what card it was he wouldn't have to ask the audience. He also could not feel the difference between different aces, yet he always finds the ace of spades for his 7 card stud. There is a system, and it's not feeling the weight difference of the amount of ink on each card.

@@AitoNitram it's always amazing to me how many people think it's based on weight. Like, how do you weigh an individual card whilst it's in the centre of the deck lmao. People are silly.

Yes, he can, and he can do even more than showcased here. He can genuinely just feel tiny details that no one else can. He doesn't consider himself to be a magician because he's not using any tricks, he calls himself a card mechanic.

In his documentary, he showcases that he has a lifetime supply of new cards, and for years and years, he would spend time feeling the cards to where there are card-specific consistent tells for what each card is. It's absolutely mind-boggling.
