That's the point of the mind blowers. To keep his mortiness at peak. To prevent him being assertive 3 years later this comment has 9.5k likes God damn thanks guy
I love how he also slowly becomes more knowledgeable about the universe as the show progresses. He's been shown to be capable of disarming a bomb on his own, fully piloting the ship when needed, and knowing the customs of other goddamn planets. The way he's slowly becoming more capable as the show progresses is just really really cool
"eekbarbadirkle somebody's gonna get laid in college" "Rick, a word... what the hell was that?!" "I know... eekbarbadirkle? That's a pretty fucked up ooh la la"
The "Take things for granite" joke is something I can relate. For years I thought the saying Half assed was actually half fast since whenever I heard it people would be saying it quickly, so my brain hears it as half fast. Now of course I hear the proper way, but some people don't enunciate their words correctly all the time.
It just means Morty was never stupid. When he had his fear taken away he was running the stock market. His confidence is the only thing keeping him back. And he defused several bombs with out it so he isn't stupid.
My theory is that Rick raised his original Morty since he was baby, that Morty turned out just like him, and it wasn't good. Whatever happened forced him to bail on the original reality and go to one where that Rick had disappeared for 20 years and take his place i.e. returning home when the real one never came back. He's trying again with his current Morty cause he loves that kid, but he's kind of an asshole to him cause he's trying to avoid what happened last time. He's also incredibly nihilistic and bitter cause he had to leave a family he loved and didn't give up and has to pretend to be a Rick that did bale on his family. That's gotta hurt. Also I think they're gonna hold on to the Beth clone idea, its gonna turn out she did leave and she's gonna find run into her real dad wherever he fucked off to.
Mine is that this morty is getting more and more evil look at the purge episode he enjoyed killing so he is at somepoint going to turn to evil morty. Rick probably did something horrible to him so he travels back in time and trys to kill him so the past morty doesent have that horiible thing happen to him
This is not mature, he is becoming someone that doesn't care for others, he is acting based in what happened but I don't think putting your frustations to someone else is the way to go ( he killed and talks bad to people without caring about their feelings like rick) I think even if the world treats you bad is no excuse to you becoming bad.
@@MrResources yeah but mostly applies to the ones that harmed not innocents also all those year of social advancements to just go like medievel times I think not
@@ashkiikami9331 Completely agree. There is a difference between not being a push over and taking your frustrations and hatred from previous events onto current situations which can then turn a simple argument into a fist fight. Really though, being influenced by a person like rick was always going to lead him down this path. Gives us an interesting peek into nature vs nurture though.
I love that it takes his daughter getting back with Jerry for Rick to straight up say Beth isn’t a clone. Even when she’s having a mental breakdown he doesn’t really truthfully tell anyone but he just yells in rage when he finds out they got back together
I think so far in season 5 he is as badass as rick and is like "dont f with me" when threatened, but he still cares for people more than it seems rick does (morty cared for planetina and his family)
The Blu Ray commentary on the first episode explains that the producers at Adult Swim almost canelled the show on the pilot because Morty was a weak punching bag so they had to rework it and give Morty a backbone. Notice the names Lazzo and Crawford on every awesome thing Adult Swim has its hands on. Gods we know nothing about.
whats funny is that Morty actually listened to the whole play and had actual great constructive advice and the insecurity of the writer overflowed and got him killed in the process
Maybe Evil Morty is a Morty that experienced several reality changes and self-changes, thus warping his entire thoughts and perspective to the point where he becomes demented.
I have a feeling Ricks fear of pirates has something to do with Pirates of the Pancreas. And he DID say the pirates are really rapey. oh god Rick, what happened...
Oh dear. Morty and the family hid because Beth was convinced she's a clone and Rick would kill her. Morty tells Rick they're hidden somewhere he will never find them. Rick then proceeds to use a cheap government teleporter to find them immediately because he knows exactly what Morty is talking about.
Just realized that that beth is a clone because that why would she ask if she is a clone if she was given the choice to become a clone. Sounds weird but just think about it
@@masterfish4343 no.. you don't get it. She would ask if she is a clone, because she can't trust her memories of Rick giving her the option of having a clone. Rick would give the clone her memory, and she knows this, and by knowing this it eliminates that as a reason for why she isn't a clone. She can only go based off of what she learns now.
It’s morty that’s the clone. He’s a clone of evil morty with some memories removed. Evil morty was ricks OG morty and turned evil so rick altered himself a new one. It’s all setup nicely throughout the seasons
I miss this show honestly, I know I can rewatch episodes, but it doesn't bring that same level of love I had for it when I first watched it. But rewatching scenes is amazing. P.S. y'all could have added the scene where he talked to that weird chick at the bar and became a entrepreneur in sales, basically casting out the negative side of himself and wanting to be better in general, that was a great development for his character.
Not to pretend to be a psycologyst or anything The first scene with morty really shows how he is trying to connect with his sister who is basically a stranger to him. He is anxious at first because he is too scared to share what he is thinking with summer because of his concern for her well being He then proceeded to open up and be real with her in order to bridge this gap they are having. He tells her all he knows with the corpses and the changing of realities because I believe that he truly wants to have the same understanding with summer. He then proceeded to finish it off by connecting her back to reality by a phrase that shows how much in the moment he is “Come watch T.V” Truly great writing by Justin Roiland
[After they escape] Morty:"...Pirates?" Rick:"-Shut up, It's a long story and I don't feel like talking about, now help me humiliate the president!" Morty:"..." Rick:"...Morty!" Morty:"I'm thinking!...Fuck it, I'll ask some other time." Rick:"Don't worry, you'll learn about in Morty's mind blowers 2. I'll give you a teaser though, those fuckers love to plunder...a lot..." Morty:"Did it involve a carnival?" Rick:"Do you want to do the episode now?! Cause we can cut whatever shit we're doing and start that up right now!" Morty:"No-no! It's fine...I just...I dunno, I always feel like they involve carnivals." Rick:"I think you're confusing them with clowns."
