Detroit cut, Berlin cut, the homes of techno, the rawest raves during old Detroit’s hay day, what about Detroit? Any specific locations? (we already know city club babe ❤️🔥)
“I have to have a certain amount of cake…. “ I love him so much! Such an incredible person. Everything he has accomplished and how he pushed hard when the culture was SO closed. 🖤
I'm not big into fashion, I probably wouldn't even consider wearing any of this man's clothing because it's not for me. But he is just a great human. Very gentle, soft, and kind. You notice how he always gives credit to all those around him? I hope I am this gracious when I am his age, and to be this way after all his hard work and many accomplishments is a feat in itself. Thanks for the video
@@Bejeodiehrubridjehfoekdjriwknr he didnt say he cant afford it, i’m from Philippines and i bought the fake one from China, that shoe is not that difficult to be replicated
@@mahalkokayonglahat yeah but I doubt they'd want to spend the money though. I could afford some rick's but there is no way I'd spend that much on shoes. Fakes is a good point though.
Rick speaks with such a calmness. 🖤 The answer to the all caps is very interesting since he comes off as a quiet person. It’s his inner self expressing itself.
What?! A personal fog machine?! *I* want a personal fog machine! And the boots to hold said machine! Everytime I've walked into a room like I owned the place I've felt like something was missing. That something was a personal fog machine.
The show he did with the handheld fog machines was brilliant, one of the best fashion shows ive seen in years. The fact that eventually the models kinda just disappear as the fog gets heavier so you only see flashes of the reflective garments!! Love
I love that he is so open to sharing so much of his time and how he thinks. For people that work so hard to have such a deep and ethical generosity of spirit is very admirable. Even if he wasn’t one of the best designers in the world he would still be an utterly wise and wonderful and fascinating human. Plus he has some astronomical levels of zen. The Constantine Kaloutas shoot reminded me instantly of the art of Hannah Faith Yata. Very cool. Off to make persimmon cookies.
Rick is one of those designers who I have the upmost respect for and love their energy, but would never wear the vast majority of his clothing. I love that his sense of humor and the fact that he doesn't take everything so seriously, and that seems to have transferred to a lot of the people that enjoy his work.
Ummmmmm... Just my 3¢.... I'm definitely interested in seeing what Rick is designing.. BUT..just never felt intersted in him personally because he always seemed guarded in past interviews I had seen. That being said ... today this totally changed my previous thought!! Simply because he Is a very unique and deeply interesting person who is clearly genuine and sincere!!! Thank you Rick for showing that to me today!!
Such a cool guy. I adore his aesthetic. I am unconventional and have had to endure abuse for most of my life. I handle it much better now but artist's like this are important to those of us considered "outsiders" Great video. Cheers ID! 🖤
When I realized Rick was only writing in al l caps, it reminded me of Herbert Bayer who said, you only need one alphabet, because the letters are the same in uppercase or lowercase. I think it is beautiful to have such subtle details in and around your work, it makes me believe you truley care about what you do
He's part of the dark side and luckier it's disgusting and sad that in this day and age the devil is popular that to me is a serious problem down with the demons they have no power against yahweh and yeshiva
Rick seems like such a sweetheart of a man. I think that part of duality makes for the blackest blacks and is why his art is so powerful. I think so many people have it wrong, backwards even, when it comes to dark arts.
I think the lore behind Rick Owens the brand is that his brand is himself it’s not like other designers where the collections are an exploration of their mind expressed through style and silouhette. Rick is so authentic that he can drop similar looking collections but the subtle differences are what make them fresh
i could imagine rick has something interesting to say about everything. perhaps he could run for office his ears bend outwards interestingly at the top, sort of making him look yoda or gargoyle ish. maybe that helped form his aesthetic
i have no idea who this is, and i am the furthest away from fashion ( i tend to avoid brand labels ), but this was still interesting, what a lovely guy
This would be someone to look into. He is a visionary designer and his runway presentations - casting, music, set design/ location, and styling are incredible post modern gothic fantasies
I do not want to hear Rick Owens him talking about his piss fantasies. Truly a turn off in every way. I now question if I even like his brand, yes I am that turned off.
I've admired him for years and years. And I think he is one of the rare people I admire artistically who is also a really kind human being. It's so rare. I hope young creatives look to him as a role model. He truly has paved his own path, unique and weird as it is, stayed true to that, and been incredibly successful in that. So much YES.
I really like the point he made about the energy out there around using social media to build a brand. There’s so much noise to get through it almost seems impossible.
Rick is a blessing to us new designers and makers In the industry, he has this dark, beautiful, enchanting most times mysterious way of being. I’ll ask him, what decisión in his career or decisions in his career took him to be here he is now.
so happy to say that im living while this legend is breathing, love you rick! this was an amazing watch. (also I loved his comment about phoniness' in the industry because that is one thing i fear the most)
