4:13 Learn more about your immune system!
If you have a problem with any type of excess mucus, there is a really simple and inexpensive solution: salt.
Salt is one of the best natural remedies for mucus. There has been a long history of using certain types of salt therapy to support the immune system.
Salt is very antimicrobial. It has antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-yeast, and anti-mold properties. Salt is also really good for breaking up thick mucus.
There are many different ways you can use salt as a remedy for mucus. If you live near the ocean, you could simply drive to the coast and breathe in the salty air.
If you’re not near the coast, you can dissolve one teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of warm water and drink it.
Other ways to use sea salt for mucus include:
• Going to a salt house
• Using a neti pot
• Using a nebulizer
• Gargling with saltwater
• Halotherapy
Most respiratory infections are viral-related, so antibiotics won’t be helpful. You have to give a viral infection time to go away, but during that time, it’s crucial to support your immune system.
The best things to support your immune system:
1. Vitamin D
2. Vitamin C
3. Zinc

My younger sister had chronic, severe asthma. It was before inhalers or any kind. We nearly lost her a few times to a severe bout. She was taken into a home for lung affected - tb, asthma, etc for a period of 6 months. Each day their beds were wheeled outside as the facility was right on the edge of the sea. Unless it was raining they stayed out there for a few hours each day, no matter how hot or cold. Her lungs improved dramatically. Eventually she was able to have inhalers, which also took some of the fear away. In time she became completely in control of her asthma. So much so in fact that the local pulmonary clinic will advise patients on her methods and means of having a very normal life. We recently celebrated her 70th birthday and she spends a lot of time on the beach with her grandsons.

As a child with asthma, my mother made me this setup once a month easy. It really worked well. LITTLE TIP.. Put big metal spoon in the pot. And while your in your head tent stir pot to get continued steam. It really helps. 😊

It's been standard practice in the USA for 100 years to iodize table salt. The need for iodine, supplementary iodine if it's inadequate in the diet, is not discussed much because it's taken for granted. Some people get the idea that either salt is bad for them, or salt with supplementary iodine is bad for them, which may be true for a small fraction of people, so they skip it, when for the vast majority we could just buy a cardboard jar of iodized salt for about a dollar every year and be good.

Been on the same path for a few months now and feel amazing. Fasting gets even easier as you go on and your body adapts to not having the standard 3 meals a day. The only problem I have is alcohol. I’m 24 and tend to drink pretty often in social situations or when I get anxious. If you don’t mind me asking, what strategies do you use to avoid the situations/urges to drink? :)
@richwilson7082

@@colehowe2816 Get honest with yourself and alcohol. I mean, just stop. If and when you feel the social pressure have a tonic with cranberry juice. If someone asks you why you are not drinking alcohol or ridicule that fact, just smile and say proudly “I gave it up. It really doesn’t do anything for me” or “I gave it up. Seems I just feel better without it.” That commands respect from others and frankly will do wonders for your own self confidence in not have to be like everyone else. Hope that helps Cole.

Great information, Doctor Berg! Near where I live in Poland, you can pay to stay overnight in the Wielicka Salt Mines for health reasons. There is a hotel in the mine. Doctors here will even prescribe a stay there for ones with lung problems. My mom was very wise, she would always have us kids gargle with salt water when we had a sore throat. Another great item to look for is called a salt inhaler. I bought one at a local shop, but when I went back to buy one for my mom they were out and I ended up buying it online and there are several places to purchase it. It's a little ceramic pot with a curved tip. The cylinder ceramic pot holds salt and the base is full of small holes so when you suck a breath in through it it's pulling microscopic particles of salt into your lungs and Airways to help dry it out. I don't get sick real often, but I have found that that definitely helps me get better quickly when I do.

If you add salt to the water it should suspend salt particles in the air so you can breath them. However the salt might clog up or corrode the machine. I'm a severe asthmatic ( my lungs collapsed when I was a teen) and as a child the doctors always told my mum to sit me in a steamy bathroom to help with my asthma , but I hated it because it always felt like it made my asthma worse, I felt like I was suffocating. Similarly, every time I went to my grandparents house which was around half an hour from the ocean, I couldn't breathe properly, I got asthma every time and if we went to the beach I felt the same as I did in a steamy bathroom. As an adult I moved inland to a small town that was a very hot, dry place and for the first time in my life, I barely used my ventolin puffer and even had some expire which shocked me! A few years ago I had to move back near the coast, the first couple of years were bareable, I had more asthma than id had in 10yrs in the dry climate but it wasn't terrible, last couple of years its become really bad again. I just wonder why the dry seems to be so much better for me when every other asthmatic I talk to gets relief from sea air etc? And what can I do about it when moving back inland is not an option? If anyone has any answers that would be great! And If you got this far down, thanks for reading lol

While at the seashore, she regained the ability to walk for blocks along the beach. When my girls were little, I used this idea when we all had a bad cold. I wound up ruining 2 cooking pots before I stumbled on using a crock pot. When I was done, the inside of the crock pot would be a crusted with salt. I went completely carnivore, to eliminate all inflammatory foods then started the neti pot three times a day. I love that thing, it helps so much. I remembered buying a nebulizer when all the covid crap started and did a saline solution with that once and was drastically on the mend. I remembered hearing about people sitting their kids by the sea when they were sick with chest problems. I also upped my electrolytes with salt. I'm still weak, but have slept so well and the mucus was cut in half for sure. One thing that also really helped was taking a super hot bath and staying under for at least a half hour. It raised my body temp to above 100. I takes weeks to get rid of, but after one I already feel so much better. Everyone kept saying I should go to the, that is the worst place to be. At home I can sleep uninterrupted and have baths etc when needed. Would love a video on what you think about homeopathic remedies, I've used them with great success for over ten years. I can't sleep lying down in my bed anymore. I sleep in a recliner. I'm really struggling to breathe. I will try salt .

I had to have surgery of my sinuses that was blocked. I was instructed that after the surgery I should have a netipoti. I purchsed one but wasn't really happy due to excessive blowing my nose after for a long period of time. I looked into Neilmed 16 OZ soft plastic collapseable. I purchased the saline packets that I had to mix. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH RELIEF in my life. You have to keep it clean, which is supper simple. When allergy season rears it's ugly face I no longer suffer from infection or congestion. Once in a while I forget and begin the infection process; however, within a couple of hours my breathing is so very easy. Thank you for sharing Sir.

Sea salt is beneficial in every way. This word Halo propably comes from the word άλας or αλάτι. Άλας is the root word for αλάτι which is more common in daily life here in Greece. Nice video again Dr B. It has been over 20 years that I haven't felt ill not even for a little, and beisde all the 'tricks' I know I enjoy sea salt in almost everything I consume.

With pink sea salt: drink a warm quart with a teaspoon dissolved first thing in the morning - also you can make a hot wrap if you have a fever, by soaking a towel in hot salt water and wrapping it around you. I sometime soak in the bathtub but the water cools off too fast in the winter.

This helped us greatly! I bought some Himalayan salt inhalers on Amazon and it helped so much.

I can confirm, leaving my kids going through their fevers gave them such a strong inmune system, and salty water was a star remedy to resolve their breathing problems!
