Get Your Ride Engineering Performance Lowering Linkage Arm Here!
www.rockymount...
The Ride Engineering Performance Lowering Linkage Arm is designed to balance out the chassis of your KX by lowering the rear 8mm. This lowering link improves bike handling and helps to keep the back end of the bike planted through braking bumps. So, to see how it works, Chase throws this lowering link on his personal 2019 KX450 and gives us his ride review and feedback on how this link corrects pitching issues.

Do you run a lowering link on your bike or plan to try one out in the future?

I have a 19kx450 and thinking of buying a lowering link . The bike already feels really comfortable.. just trying to see if it may lower the bike just a bit ? And also get that rear tire planted when coming out of turns

After not riding for 18 years, (last bike was a wonderful 97 KX250), I found out after I just picked up a 2019 YZ 250 2-stroke, that the 2-strokes got a lot taller, (due to young magazine employees complaining that 'The chassis needs to be updated", so the factories made them 4-stroke tall, I bet is the case.). So I am lowering the suspension, (.900" in the rear and .750" in the front), getting the proper springs for my weight and whooped out trails, having my sub-frame modified to be adjustable, putting on a 1.5mm longer link, and cutting 1" off the top of the seat. Thank you young magazine editors. You owe me a grand!!!!!

I just bought a ride engineering pull rod for my 19 crf. It wasn’t advertised as a lowering link but it only dropped the rear 3mm. Can’t tell a difference

Just installed one on my crf450r, iv seen your other videos saying don’t run these on the track, looks like the you’re ripping on a mx track.. should I be worried about running a link and riding track?

Hi- great video and review. I just put on the Ride Engineering 22MM Triple clamps on my 2019KX450 and it was a huge improvement in cornering. Would you recommend the lowering link in my case?

Ride engineering made a video on RU-vid about running both of them and I guess it’s a good combination. I ordered both today 🤷‍♀️

I usually hear about the negative effects that lowering links cause. Interesting to hear more about the positives.

How would I lower the rear if links are for lowering?
@k.h1365

Hey I love my 19 450 its bone stock It's the best bike I've ever ridden! The suspension is great I may do the stiffer spring one one side but with the stock suspension will the link affect the way i f go into turns or make the front push?
@rmatvmc
@rmatvmc 4 года назад
It didn't for me. It kept the same front end feel but helped the rear stay settle comping out of turns through the choppy stuff. - Chase

Did you change fork height after putting the link on? Also what race sag did you run?

with this on I'm running about 103mm of sag and the forks about 5mm up in the clamps. - Chase

Rocky Mountain ATV MC what about clicker settings, what shock settings did you change with link, ie did rebound need to be adjusted? and what compression and rebound setting you at with the fork?

I own a 2014 kx450f and I'm 5'7 and cant hardly touch. Will that lowering link help me?
@rmatvmc
@rmatvmc 4 года назад
It might lower in about an inch or so. Nothing major. The name lowering link is kind of deceiving because that's not the real purpose of it. It's intended to help the handling of the bike, not just make it sit lower. - Chase

@@fazerider3092 Some of these 'lowering' links, will lower the back about 5mm, not real noticeable, others will lower 1'' to about 1.25''.

is it safe to use for jumping MX? do i need to worry about shock bottoming out? Anything i should adjust on shock and fork clickers?
@rmatvmc
@rmatvmc 2 года назад
If you're bottoming out a lot after putting this link on, a few things you should check. Your shock spring rate and make sure it's right for your weight, your sag, and your highspeed compression. If your sag numbers are good and your spring isn't too light, you can go in (clockwise) on high speed compression. - Chase

I have a 2016 Kawasaki KX450F, I don’t find any of your listed lowering links that fit my bike. Any chance I’m just not seeing it?

It's because we don't carry a link for the 2019 and older KX450. You may need to go to ride engineering directly. - Chase

Unfortunately, we only carry this lowering link from Ride Engineering for 2019+ KX450F's. But we do offer a Devol Lowering Linkage Arm for your 2014 KX that is very similar. You can check it out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/devol-lowering-linkage-arm-p

Precision Concepts uses this for their off-road pro team, and they are winning everything. They tested it extensively both ways. All the riders tested it back to back, stock vs link. They all use the link. They have also tested it a ton on the MX tracks, and they recommend it there too.

@shooter7a
@shooter7a 4 года назад
@@MichaelAMyers1957 they are not garbage. They are very good. But the Kawi is a better bike after you have fine tuned it. The Yam has a better motor, but again, once the bike is dialed in, I don't think you have get much better than the Kawi. It is the lightest feeling 450 I have ever ridden. It rides lighter than my KTM 450 did.....and the KTM is 15# lighter on the scale.
