Thanks for the Video! I love how the Rift looks and the quality. I live in one of those Communist states that regulate everything. Can you clarify something you said in the video. You said it ships as a class 2 max 20 mile an hour. Is that correct? I know there are control hacks that can open it up to 28 but to be legal in my state it has to be max 20 and then the motor stops assisting.

So max speed is 28mph on assist? Any unlock codes to unlock for trotle?. What wheel does the left and right brake controls?

These are class 3 ebike. There is no unlock code

That thing says it has a 30 amp controller, it would be nice to see what it is actually capable of...I doubt very much, any one buying that bike would leave it as a class two bike..It's not a senior citizen type bike...And what type of law cares, or could even tell the difference between 20 and 30+ Mph, that's not really a thing..But, whatever..

Its max speed is 28MPH on pedal assist and 20MPH throttle only. In all US states, electric bike classification is "a thing".

@@Rlphotoman I live in a New York Forest in the summer/spring and fall and live in Florida in the winter..I have several home made Ebikes, they all go over 40 mph..Have drove them in over thirty states, have never had any problems or confrontations..I have changed over 100 mountain bikes into ebikes for people..I usually use the 1,000watt bafang bbshd mid drive, that usually goes about 35mph and none of those people have ever had a problem that I am aware of either..Alot of those bikes I've used more powerful controllers,that go alot faster...And the Ride 1 up company makes a few bikes that go 36 mph..Don't be a dandy..Randy...

@@realeyesrealizereallies6828 lol I live in southern California where the speed limit for cars on the freeway is 65. I drive 75 on a daily basis and haven't had a speeding ticket in over 30 years. The fact that you have personally modified bikes outside of the classifications and not had a problem is irrelevant to whether the classifications exist and require manufacturer's compliance. I don't give a rip how many ebike mods you've done, it's irrelevant. And Ride1up doesn't have any bikes that are rated over 30mph although in the right conditions they could certainly exceed that by a couple of mph, just as this one could. All of their bikes are class 3. You said the law doesn't care, that's simply not true.

@@Rlphotoman The Ride 1 Up Revv goes 35--40 unlocked, the full suspension model, I rode my buddies today, got it up to 39...

Question: many bikes have Small Medium Large frame offerings. Does Rift? Is it one size fits all? 6'01" and 6'02 tall riders asking.

Rift is a one-size option, with two frame styles. Step-over, or step-thru. Ride1Up says it will fit folks up to 6'4", however, I would imagine you'd probably want to throw an adjustable stem on it, depending on what sort of riding posture you want. The frame is big, and the fat tires elevate the whole frame as well, so it's definitely ready for taller riders, but would check out getting an adjustable stem installed (super simple). MAYBE getting a longer seat post, but I don't recall if that would be necessary. So, $30-$40 to dial it in for a taller rider would be my guess on the cost associated here.

From the Owner's Manual p. 10: "It is recommended to not ride in wet weather. Wet weather impairs visibility, braking and traction of the ebike and affects others sharing the road. Accidents increase in wet weather conditions." Amazing.
