RIDGE PARK RESTAURANT - TAGAYTAY PHILIPPINES REVIEW

Ridge Park was recommended to me by no less than 100 people. It sits on an insanely beautiful cliff edge in Tagaygay, Philippines while over looking the entirety of Taal lake. They have bamboo huts (bahay kubo) that you can eat in that provide an insane view (when it's not storming and dark.)

I super appreciate you man! This guy is not just Pinoy baiting. He's legit enough to speak Tagalog. To learn a language is to embrace everything that goes with it - food, people, etc.

For all non-cavitenyos who are interested to eat in Park Ridge. Try avoiding exact lunch time (12nn to 1pm) as the place will always be full. Tagaytay traffic also becomes unbearable during the weekend around lunch time. Best time to go and eat would be 10 to 1030, food will be served around 11am then by the time you leave, the place will be full of people. Usually, restaurants clear up around 2 to 3pm onwards.

You should collaborate with bisayanghilaw, he’s also a Caucasian YourubeR from Utah..He does the same thing as you do but he’s more focus on the southside of the Philippines which is Visayas and some parts of Mindanao. Keep up the good work kuya Kurt. Magaling ka.. and Salamat sa pagmamahal sa aming bayan at kultura. Hats off to you buddy .. And let’s make your channel big in promoting the Philippines. Liempo - general term for pork belly. Bacon to Filipinos refers to American bacon - that thinly sliced pork belly usually fried to a crisp. Which is why your waiter looked confused when you referred to liempo as bacon

Wow! Love the ambience with front view of the volcano! Try the hot cocoa drink, which is popular in Tagaytay. They make the drink out of little round cocoa tablets. Also try the buko pie while you’re in Tagaytay. Thanks for explaining the “unli” rice. I always hear that word but never knew what it meant. By the way, the Korean bingsoo is not as tasty as halohalo, in my experience. I agree that Koreans shave their ice very finely so the texture is very smooth like snow. Thanks for sharing and taking us along with you to such a beautiful place. 🥰

There’s a new tourist attraction in Batangas city called the MIRACLE WALK ( glass walkway on the bridge). That’s why it’s a bit pricy because they made the ice with milk for halo-halo and big serving, too.

Enjoying so much your videos. If in doubt, with regards to how you eat dishes, just ask the server and they'll be able to explain to you. Bulalo is usually eaten with rice. There's a bunch of calamansi served too for dipping sauce. That goes with the bulalo. Enjoy!

That Halo-Halo looks Extra Delicious since the shaved ice was made with 3 special ingredients. For a 10/10 Rating for $6.00, it is so worth the charge. Here in San Diego, ChowKing charges $6.99 ($7.00) with hardly any fruits, kaong, jackfruit, sabah. It does have the Use ice cream, a tiny pc. of Leche Flan and mostly Mung Beans and Sago. I'm glad that you love Filipino Cuisine.

Ahahaha... May bowl naman pala e! 😆 I think you're bringing back your comedic parts from your much earlier videos. Peace man. ✌️ About the "unli soup" on the Bulalo, "unli" is pronounced the same as the 1st 2 syllables of the English word "unlimited". It is actually English, shortened by Filipinos. Actually an English phrase, this "unli soup" with the 1st word shortened, the Filipino way.

🧡🧡🧡The bulalo looks delicious. I also make ice using milk, cream, and a little condensed milk for my halo-halo, especially when an ice crusher is not available. The mixture prevents the water molecules from forming solid ice, so it doesn’t harden completely. I just use a fork to crush it.

Hey, at 4:14, Bahay Kubo. It's a generalized term for "Nipa Hut". (Nipa is a kind of palm tree, and the fronds are harvested, dried, then "woven" together, used for the roof and walls of the hut). 🙂

Taal is an active volcano. Erupted last January 12, 2020, when a phreatomagmatic eruption from its main crater spewed ashes over Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and some parts of Central Luzon and Ilocos Region, resulting in the suspension of school classes, work schedules, and flights in the area.

That mango shake is made from ripe mango, some evaporated milk and a little sugar blended with ice. The bulalo is eaten with the meat and vegetables together with the rice, you either sip the soup placed in a smaller bowl or you soak your rice with it. It's quite amusing having some sort of mannerism of extending both your arms every now and then, specially when you eat

Kuya Kurt. All dishes are mostly or generally eaten with rice even soups. Soup dishes are usually eaten as pair with dishes or ulam that is dry. Filipinos like pairing fried or grilled food with soups like sinigang , tinola or nilaga so that the whole experience is filling. Then ends with deserts 🥰

You're making me hungry at this time of night kuya Kurt. How to eat liempo. You did it right, but the steak knife was there for a reason. If it was me, hindi ko kakamayin ang liempo because you have the knife and fork. Sa Bulalo, you can eat it alone or with rice. It's best to put the sabaw on the rice just enough to wet it. Other than that you almost did the right thing! Oh, and your captions are a bit off sometimes. Dreary became jewelry.😅 🇵🇭🇺🇲🫰🏻
