► Check Out The RIDGID R86211B 18 -Volt OCTANE 1/2" Drive High Torque 6-Mode Impact Wrench at The Home Depot: thd.co/3dgC19V
► Sunex 1/2" Drive Impact Socket Set, 43-Piece, Metric, 9mm - 30mm - amzn.to/3bbgayZ
► Sunex 1/2" Drive Impact Socket Set, 43-Piece, SAE, 3/8 Inch - 1-1/2 Inch - amzn.to/3dmzSt4
RIDGID finally has an 18-Volt OCTANE Brushless 1/2 in. High Torque 6-Mode Impact Wrench. If you were in the RIDGID line, this is a tool you have been waiting a long time for! RIDGID's High Torque Impact Wrench has 6-modes. Three are the standard power modes you see on most impact wrenches and three are auto tightening modes. Auto tightening modes allow you to set high, medium, and low settings for starting to fasten items.
The RIDGID High Torque Impact Wrench pretty much matches the specs on the MILWAUKEE FUEL M18 High Torque Impact Wrench. We mess a bit with both in the video. RIDGID claims a maximum torque output of 1,500 ft./lbs. of breakaway torque and 1,100 ft./lbs. of fastening. Remember, both numbers are stated as an up to figure.
This RIDGID High Torque Impact Wrench is compatible with all RIDGID 18-Volt Batteries, BUT it works the best with 6 Ah Octane batteries and higher.
Of course, this tool is eligible for the Lifetime Service Agreement IF you register within 90 days of purchase.

Their lifetime service agreement is a no brainer for me. I’ve heard great stories of people exchanging tools and batteries with Home Depot, no questions asked.

@@jkbethune I did not. I had applied on time and sent copies of the receipts. I figured it would be a done deal since TTI owns direct tool and is pretty tight with the depot. When they turned it down on my purchases life was kinda hectic. I did a quick search online and saw that it wasn't uncommon to have to fight them and some others had even lodged BBB complaints. Figured it wasn't worth the hassle. I had gotten the tools for a good price and they performed well considering. Plus the LSA isn't what it used to be anyways.

Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ru-vid.comUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

A like for the only video comparing these two. A sub for a great early review. Looking forward to long term testing and feedback from use. I purchased a couple of Rigid power tools a few years ago to replace my still awesome, but outdated, Makita tools. At the time I was underwhelmed with the build quality and performance and have faught off the urge to cut my losses and go to the Fuel lineup. I may give Rigid another chance after this and other current reviews you are offering. Keep it up!

Very cool testing ridgid seems like a very nice high torque but nobody's specs are ever correct on what the tool can install and breakaway torque are never correct compared to company specs they got that max spec on a specific test and then said that's what we are putting on the tool specs depends on bolt size and nut size and socket size and if your using an extension or no exstention is going to depend on the max breakaway torque and the max fastening torque.... they Probably used a very small socket and bolt to get that 1100 foot pounds fastening and 1500 pounds breakaway... was also nice to see it was very close to the Milwaukee since the Milwaukee couldn't go any further then what the rigid stopped at was neet information...

So... This Ridgid is a high torque and is more powerful and much heavier. The Ryobi is basically a mid-torque and is smaller and half the power. It depends on your plans for the use. If it is just basic car stuff, the new Ryobi will handle it. If you get into lifting a truck that is rusty, you would find the larger Ridgid to be the way to go. You would only need the Ridgid for a few nuts and bolts, but it would be nice to have it for them. Long and short, I use a mid-Torque 90 to 95% of the time on cars and only pull out the larger High Torque when needed. I am going to assume that the Ryobi would work well for you, but I want you to know the full story before I tell you what to buy.

I'm after a tool that will be sufficient for removing a tough crank bolt, factory torque is is 300 ft lbs or 400nm. It is a 27 mm bolt. Just want to get an idea of what this tool can do.
@WorkshopAddict

Mid-Torque will do it with a 5 amp hour battery or larger.

@@WorkshopAddict Is that mid torque pretty decent? It's $159.00 at Home Depot right now. (Tool, 4 Ah battery, and charger) I have the DeWalt but want to send the Ridgid octane mid torque to my brother out of state.

Because of its age and use, that original bolt stripped out. I had a metric sitting around, so I tapped it.

I saw on some older reviews the Milwaukee pin detent models were a little less powerful than the hog ring models due to the strength of the anvil. Is that true today

The difference in torque is not as distant today as there are better materials used in the pin detent anvils.

Wow didn't see this coming. States it puts out 1500 ft lbs which is 100 more than the Milwaukee. Yet I wonder if the 1400 is with an XC battery and now that Milwaukee has HO batteries the Milwaukee puts out the 1500? Anyway very nice offerings for someone with Ridgid battery packs. I decided to go with Milwaukee as I got a charger a 5xc battery and the tool for $254 before tax

Right dude, you have said it all over the place. I get it. It comes down to the right tool for the right job. If all you have is a 1/2" drive, great, go buy them one by one. I have been doing this longer than a few years so I have 3/4" and 1" stuff to work my way up. That just makes more sense to me rather than having a socket and a tool that might work.

I wish someone would get a skidmore-wilhelm to get actual torque numbers. Personally, I can’t tell the difference in performance between, Makita, Dewalt, or Milwaukee in the real world. If one of them can take it off, so Can the others, if one of them can’t. None of them can... I take breakaway torque ratings with a grain of salt.
