Ridiculous characters of Fighting Game history - Chipp Zanuff from Guilty Gear 

Chipp Zanuff has a pretty big arc compared to most fighting game characters. From Drug Addict to White Ninja African President. As with all the ridiculous history vids this vid goes overall that in some detail + a little bit more. As far as Strive's plot goes, there's a few potential spots for Chipp. One of which is the revelation in the fight dialogue that Nagoryuki is familiar with Tsuyoshi.

There's something about Chipp's simplicity that's really endearing. The world is full of Chipps, trying to do the right thing in their own ways, and overcome their pasts. We just gotta keep fighting.

Honestly with all the people of political people that know and trust Chipp he could a good person to help every country. Make him like a leader in the UN or something, like the man has connections.

I really love Chipp’s story, I find it very inspirational - from being a drug addict to wanting to become a president. He’s my top 3 favorite characters right next to Sol and Ky

Best character of all time hands down

One of my favorite ninja characters, and one of the most fun characters in the GG cast, in both personality and playstyle. Love how much sharper Strive makes him look without actually changing much of his outfit. Now he just needs to find a weapon to surpass the Gears to solidify the Eastern Chipp Kingdom as a nucle...world power. 2024 Enough's Zanuff!!

To get the Eastern Chipp Kingdom recognized by the UN, Chipp just needs to join the UN in their annual bus trip where they reenact Lord of the Flies and eat a wild boar before being saved by, oh, let’s say Moe.

Wow! Learning about Chipp's history made me appreciate him more as a character! It's amazing how he started from a drug addict to a weeaboo ninja and president of Africa! XD

I like how in strive he's just trying to get more people in the eastern chipp kingdom

Naruto (or the GG universe equivalent) is probably required reading for the children in Chipp's nation.

Ok so with this and Terry Bogard, we have had two of these in a week! So probably a bit until the next one. That said before the launch of Strive we might get another, and depending on what KoF news hits maybe another on that front as well who knows? Also open to just about anything as long as the character has an interesting enough story to tell!

It's a minor aspect of his character, but with how you went over his Japanophilia so much it feels like it would have been good to mention that Chipp also has the worst Japanese accent in the cast next to Jam(aside from one or two the rest speak normally). Sadly it's an aspect of his character that can't be translated into English sensibly(since he's American, presumably a native English speaker), which is too bad, because if you know Japanese the accent/bad pronunciation is pretty funny. In English he sounds like a normal dude so it's lost, but in Japanese he sounds like an idiot in a lot of lines. DIEJOEBOO(daijoubu)! That being said it's mostly included as a joke and I think he speaks pretty normally most of the time/in dialogue/story segments, just with some heavy accent peppered in for laughs I guess.

You have to admit, his story is actually sorta inspirational. Good person who was born into a bad place in life, was shown a bit of compassion by a man who saw potential in him, became one of the few people on Earth to have a decent mastery of Ki by taking his studies extremely seriously despite his lack of book smarts, has a strong moral compass and wants to protect and defend the weak and innocent against those who would take advantage of them, and proceeds to become president of his own kingdom in a belief that he can help improve their lives and combat the ugly reality the world currently is in due to being a victim of that merciless cycle. So an American former drug dealer ninja president of an African kingdom who wants to make the world a better place.

I know very little about Guilty Gear lore, but I do know that there's a heroin-addict that becomes an East African President. Very funny.

"japanese people in guilty gear are basically super heroes" bro... there is like two characters in GG that are japanese one is dancer that has magic fans and the other is a one eye, one arm samurai that is the only character in the game that cant use magic

I never player a gg after x2 until very recently but I was always a fan of Chipp, he was one of my two mains. Though I love the entire class and try to play them all. I really just cannot wait until strive comes back, it's starting to feel like a dream. I loved this video and still a massive fan of Chipp and yourself, thank you Roofle.

I’ll admit, I severely misjudged him as a character when I first saw him in a video of the Instant Kills from Xrd. At first I thought he was just a lame-ass weeb trying to look cool, but now that I know his story I can honestly say that I kinda respect him!

Chipp and G would get along great i feel.

There is a scene where if Put Kum and Him in a match. Kum will talk about how he has many but so tangled chi flow (unlike jam who has two but so perfect chi flow). He's more into Strength and Speed than grace (jam's). It makes sense because in his past he wants to avenge his master and he's full of anger. And ofc drugs

Chipp also is a character I like but hate fighting. Makes sense he used to be crak addict because he is SO GODDAMN FAST, and the whole idea of him basically being a weeb makes him so much funnier imo. I would argue that chipp is stronger than you think, Daisuke himself said that Chipp is one of if not the most technically proficient fighter in the gg world. Bedmans winquote also suggests that Chipp could develop an ultra instict like skill, he even sounded a little afriad in the japanese voice acting
