Pretty sure that's the point big roof. A group of people sat down at arc sys one day, popped acid and came up with whatever seemed to make sense at the time with all ideas accepted and NOTHING sent to the cutting room floor. The they built a game around it that was so undeniably good that everybody just pretended the lore was an actual thing that made logical sense and enjoyed themselves. And we all lived happily ever after, except for lobbys.
wasn't there a point where ky, dizzy, sin and the valentines talk how they are related to sol with the valentines saying somthing about being sol`s daughter or sister?
@@soulesx8074 The valentines have no relation to sol(outside of Jack-o). Sol however is technically Ky's father in law and I think they go over that briefly.
Ok, so from what I've gathered, some powerful beings were cooking up some magic at a BBQ in their backyard when one of the moms decided to become the Pope and then sent out her daughters to distract the illuminati and world governments from her plan to have a man with severe narcolepsy summon a bunch of stuff to wipe out humanity, and then her daughter Ramlethal declared war on Earth, found a better BBQ going on in Sol's backyard, had some burgers, and discovered that friendship and free food was the real treasure all along.

@@ren7a8ero Yeah I did the same thing. Honestly, there's no cheat sheet to it, just gotta see the whole story for yourself (CF definitely doesnt work like GG where you can just see it as its own standalone story too). Ive recently finished the whole story and this shit is still confusing.
@@bigboss6145 I play Kingdom Hearts a game renowned for it's complicated plot, and can understand it and enjoy it no problem. I hate BlazBlue's story for how confusing it is. Time travel is one thing, but so much is explained in so little time and they then expect you to synthesize the information you just got to make a large leap in logic. I hate BlazBlue.
A series on gg lore would actually be really good. I tried looking up the lore because I want to buy this new game. There is only a 3 hour video (which I watched the whole thing lmao) and some “lore in less than 5 min” videos. There really is a monopoly on gg rn
Having spent a week+ immersing myself in everything that's happened since my GG phase back in the day, I have no idea how you could explain GG in less than 5 mins without just skipping over everything lol
Arif H yea that was the only video that explained guilty gear so I had to watch it. The first hour was pretty nice and the sol bad guy reveal got me hype af. Then the next two hours the friends fuck around way too much and made it a lil annoying. I really want to dive into the world of GG so I’m trying to watch anything lmao

I love how you halfway through the lore stumble when saying terms like Mother, Backyard and so on. You really need to step back like that to realize how very silly the lore is. Still my favorite fighting game franchise tho, gotta love the Metal.
Hey so this video took FOREVER to make. I have stated many times while I am a big time GG fan its for the older games in the series, not so much Xrd and onwards, so I went out of my way to learn EVERYTHING that has happened since XX and boy its a lot of dumb anime stuff alright! But now its done so maybe in the future before strive hits I can make a comprehensive GG lore guide or something for all the really silly stuff. Also now looking more foward to Ramlethal in strive! As always this is pretty different than what I normally do if you can share it around or something it would be of great help!
@@EX-Flashkick lotta little things. You know how xrd players say strive is dumbing down the game? Well for some of us old heads that's what xrd was. On top of that none of my characters were in the game, and the online sucked(I live in the middle of nowhere so online is my only option). I look forward to strive personally cause I don't need them to remake the X2 series and im looking forward to something new. *edit* and to be clear I don't hate xrd or nothing, just cause of a lot of those factors I never wound up spending any real time on it, there are certainly good aspects to it as well.
I would love a concise lore series just exploring the entire guilty gear series. It really is a mess to try and get your head around with whats available at the moment
I love how in every pic with Sin and El trying to hangout with Ram she is like looking off into the distance not paying attention to them. I can relate.
The thing about Ram's "I declare war on the entire world" plan: she was never meant to succeed. She's literally a decoy to get Sol and the other heroes attention so the conclave can work their shit behind the scenes. Xrd takes place right after the world narrowly avoided getting destroyed by the first Valentine in Overture. Her showing up, saying she's ALSO a Valentine, and declaring war on the whole world basically sent everyone into a panic instantly. Obviously, even though she's meant to be disposable, Ram also happens to be extremely powerful, though probably not as powerful as the original Valentine from Overture that started a huge war and nearly succeeded. The Universal Will never figured on her being around long enough to develop emotions of her own also, which is what allows her to throw a monkey wrench into its plans at the end of Revelator.
sooooo strive will be my first GG game that I'll take "seriously", and im not sure who my main might be yet. after hearing ramlethal compared favorably to my GBVS main zooey i was thinking her, but now ive heard the words "flesh cape" and all of a sudden i feel like firing up Xrd and doing her combo trials thanks roof, thanks flesh cape

There will be more. I am a bit sad these videos heavily underperform compared to other ones though that take 99% less effort to make. So unless that trend reverses they will only happen every now and then cause this is my job and I gotta make money unfortunately :(

anime fighters tend to have the obscenly drunk ass lore. from what i've heard blazblue's lore is even more obscenly convoluted, and i imagine Under Night is gonna hit the nonsensically fuck up point once it's list of games is more than...2 games long

100k is a long long way away. Since my content is more educational rather than entertainment I don't really get big spurts of growth. I don't expect to hit 100k until like maybe, whenever the league of legends fighting game comes out and who knows how far away that is. That said I probably would do something for 100k, I just have no idea what yet heh
With Ramlethal being confirmed for Guilty Gear Strive, it's definitely good that you covered her story in the lore, because man that was a lot of crazy info to take in! XD
Lotta people are "de-animefying" in Strive, and its telling that while ram also is less anime, she's still anime as hell. She was born into the anime era of Xrd so that's what its gonna be I guess.
Thanks for making this video about ramlethal Valentine she is my favorite character from the guilty gear franchise I love his redemption arc his design is very amazing and unique
I mean, she's still the same character; it's just that she isn't as integral to the story of Strive as she was in Xrd. It's the same reason Strive doesn't give Potemkin as much characterization as Goldlewis Dickinson; he's just not a major player this time around. That doesn't change either of their characters, it just doesn't put the spotlight on them.
Please make a full guilty gear long lore video, I’ve only just recently got into GG and it’s lore already confuses me. I know it would be hard and long to explain but I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated!

Gg lore with kof music? This is going to be a good video. While that wasn't FULLY what ramlethal is (that is such a longer video that would melt people's brains so good on you not going to far) I can appreciate the scaled down video
I always thought Ramlethal was a weird 2d Tekken character more then an MK character. Nott just because she has target combos/strings but more simply because she has an Electric.
Remember Xrd is the series Sign is part one and Revelator is part 2. I feel you did alright in some aspects for abridging the series. All I can say is more people should try GG XRD.

I know you have done 2 guilty gear characters already, but I would *really* love if you gave Baiken the video treatment. She's my favorite character of all time in terms of fighting games. Otherwise, Iori and Kyo from KoF are probably fun to talk about. If a little basic probably.
Guilty Gear has always been over the top with its cast and spectacular animation! I think we might as well say its anime + comics, the fighting game prime! Primarily Studio Trigger/Gianax( Kill la kill,FLCL, EVA)+ Madhouse ( Red line, VHD Bloodlust, Ninja Scroll) rolled into one!
GG makes me appreciate how simple SF's story is (or used to be at least). It's a fighting game and doesn't need thirty pages of lore. The personalities and relationships are more important.
Ok this is geting confuseing Elphelt and Ram work for mother but they aren't alie? I think Mother had 1 too many drink whene doing her creation thingy... or just change idea mid way? Sond like it or one of the 2 valentine malfonction...
The plot with Ramlethal is that she was supposed to be a distraction. Declaring war to all the planet to get the good guys attention and kill Sol, yes, it's said that she was totally capable of. With everyone freaking out cuz oh no second valentine goes brrrr, the actual bad guys in the background could revive Justice and use her to finally doom the world as the universal will wanted, but then Elphet appears and completely shreds the plan by first canceling all Ram's power and you said it, turning her into a "normal person" wich downgraded her power drastically cuz puppy is cute and Hamburgers are delicious. Bedman is like the plan B if something goes wrong and boy did it go wrong. With the plan with Ramlethal being a complete failure, Bedman is sent to dispose off her, but as she shows emotions, Bedman refuses to kill her. (man like, why didn't they just erase Elphet from day one and they could have won) anyway then she fucking dies to a gear explosion looking for kidnapped Elphet and Raven builds her back like Legos so she can join the royalty and serve king Ky. (rev 2) Yeah this souds crazy, want me to explain why Ram is Sin Kiske's aunt? Rip Bedman, he was a nice guy.
Loved the video! I was wondering if you were going to make more in this series, very happy you did. I haven’t played any Guilty Gear games, but have been interested in it since watching your videos talking about Strive. Would you recommend picking any GG games up, or just wait for Strive? I’d love it if you did a video, (or videos) about GG lore, and definitely more in this series.
Guilty Gear was designed to be nuts and nonsensical. Has deeper themes hidden (the meaning of 'humanity' [Ramlethal, Gears in General]; guilt and redemption, temptation and depression [Faust]; etc.) within the insanity, but it mostly not to be taken seriously.
