I love that takeoff' I grew up on two kawasaki 550s stand up jet skis and Ive always loved the stand up style...I logged in over 100 hours of riding for several years...that thing is a beast'
Anna's retro color livery is so sick. Also I have no idea how to ride a standup so the fact that you caught on so well says something. Maybe the teachers helped a bit too lolll. She stuck you with the gold loco too!!! That's dirty 🤣
Great video Adam, I don't know what was better watching you fall or just watching Anna. keep living your everyday adventure and keep smiling. You are a Rockstar ...
I bought a stand up Yamaha Superjet years ago....Replaced it with a 701 engine and painted and did some other mods. It spoiled me....Sit downs are so boring now even though it's been years since I sold it. Gonna buy another one day
That's so awesome. I haven't ridden standups ever but want to get one in the next couple years. Might start with a super jet then try a Kommander since they are local there. These Prowatercraft are now on my radar. I spend a lot of time in the Phoenix area and am trying to figure out how to start racing on my gp1800 in that area. I need to get out to Havasu as well, I haven't seen it in years. Awesome vid you all, lots of legit fun!
It's too bad these are so rare. It actually takes some skill to ride a stand up and it's much funner than a sit down. Kind of like the different between driving a corvette as the stand up to a huge 4 door mini van with the sit down skis people ride around on these days.
@AdamSwords I wouldn't have even attempted it. I haven't even see a stand up since probably late 70s early 80s. Wasn't even aware they were still a thing.
Used to live next to the national stand up jet ski freestyle champion growing up. Flash Gordon is what they called him. Rode his stand up skis a few times on Lake Sunapee in NH. Pretty sweet
Those things look sooo tipy. I think I would spend my time face planting on the water if it's harder to stay standing, even after getting up to speed. Oh yeah. It also might be time to retire the boots. Lol.😂. Imagine riding those to Catalina and then having to ride back the same day. I'd be lost at sea. Great video. On to the next.
Really u did awesome… big brother…. I’m from India and I can speak english and I think my accent is pretty good … 😂😂….. I really enjoy watching ur videos… and also Michael… I’m a painter from Calcutta and I think I’m gonna gift a sketch on ur birthday…. Love for Diesel…
First off what a gorgeous legend to teach you. Second off I've never understood why so many people have issues standing on these. I have one of the Kawasakis 7 series and I love it. I also used to ride my jet powered surf board quite a bit and I've surfed since I was 10. Granted I'm 37 and weigh 135 pounds at six foot two. I've just never been able to gain weight. To much metabolism I guess. Gotta admit that is one nice lookin stand up. I'll stick with my 4 seaters tho. I've got a 2000 kawasaki stx900 that's had a ton of work over the years and it's easily capable of 120+
This was a cool video! Thats a cool ski and they both rip. and yea theyre deff right you did for first time on a standup. some people just take a long time to get and some people just pick it up quick, it seems random. I wasnt bad my first time, but i wasnt standing up right away either..
Yeah i have ridden a few stand ups.. then ate sht and wraped myself around the steering colum like a pretzel and broke a few ribs and decided i would just sit down from now on
When driving though havasu I thought to my self those plam trees must be on a island now I know. They look so greener then most. But from the road you can't tell
I’ve always wanted to ride one. Those skis are rockets. My house is right up the street from Body beach though. Fun spot. I just noticed he said you could try riding them. I’m tryin to ride one of those rockets lol.
Bro I can tell you why your having so much problem is because you keep trying to turn the handle bars to turn your supposed to lean in the direction you want to go nut turn the handle bars.
my cousin lives there and is a jet ski wizard.....i will tag you on a photo of him upside down.......in the old days the stand ups were known as jet ski's and the sit downs were jet bikes. cool vid as always......tagged you on insta
I wish these were around when I Raced back in the 90s. We had the super jets and kawi 750sxi pro. Those look fun, but I LoVeD Racing 2 strokes. I would Love to Ride one of these though. That 93-94 Waveblaster looks Fun the original purple.
If he really wants some awesome exposure he should do a video with RU-vidr finnegans garage with Mike finnegan because he is a stand up jet ski guy he loves them. And he has hella subs so this guy would get Tons of exposure
First time I ever rode a jet ski I am kinda tall so my legs we’re hanging off the back my junk by the turbine I hit the throttle an the water shot out the jet a blew my shorts right off me ass
You are dead wrong in thinking that a lower powered ski will be easier to ride. In the stand-up game, the more power you have the easier it is to ride. Especially if you are a big boy like yourself. When you go to fall you can power out, where as with a slow ski you can't. I have over 25 years experience riding stand-up's. BTW, these people should have told you this.
First and foremost, you need to cut about 50 pounds. Carrying that much weight makes all the difference in being able to ride a stand-up. Especially when you are trying to learn. Cut back on the Bangers and mash mate!
